I would NOT!! recommend National Learning Group If only I could give a rating of 0. I decided to joint NLG in December 2023 for my daughter. I wanted a qualified Maths teacher NLG allocated one at the rate of £37 for 40 minutes. My daughter had her first 2 sessions. When it came to 3rd session my daughter was waiting on zoom for 10 minutes after the allocated time. The tutor emailed after saying she could not attend the session. Then again 4th session something happened daughter waiting on zoom tutor did not turn up emailed after 10 minutes saying I could not attend. However they kept taking payment out of my account. When I spoke NLG about the tutor not turning up on time they made me feel that I was at fault and that the tutor has the right to cancel. I suggested that I would like to be allocated a another tutor. They said we have found another teacher but straight after they emailed again no teachers are available. NLG said as a good will gesture we are willing to waive 4 week notice period a a good will gesture. I want to know what good will gesture ? you have failed to provide a tutor and when I asked for a refund for £74 the 2 sessions that did not go ahead. NLG have said we will not provide a refund. Shame on you NLG and Emily Clark who did not reply to my email for a refund. The manager that did not mention his name shame on you and all that I have spoken from NLG for cunningly not providing the services and then not refunding the sessions. Pathetic!! More...

Title: Beware: Unfair Work Practices at National Learning Group LTD.
My experience with the National Learning Group LTD as a tutor was disappointing and concerning.
Initially lured in by the appealing £20 per hour rate, the reality quickly unraveled upon signing the contract. What seemed like a promising tutoring opportunity soon turned into a burdensome administrative nightmare.
The company's undisclosed expectations included an overwhelming list of tasks far beyond tutoring responsibilities. From marking and setting homework to calling parents, administering tests, tracking student progress, scheduling appointments, and even handling absences, the workload extended well beyond the realm of fair compensation.
What's worse, the company offered 40-minute classes, significantly cutting into the promised hourly rate. During an introductory presentation, the shocking revelation of being grossly underpaid for the extensive workload prompted my decision to withdraw.
To add insult to injury, the National Learning Group LTD demanded £375 for an online presentation that offered no tangible benefits. Their threatening approach to collect this fee, asserting it through a collection debtor if not paid, only accentuates the predatory nature of their practices.
I strongly caution anyone considering working with this company. The promises of fair compensation are hollow as the excessive administrative duties far outweigh the offered pay. The realization of being paid a fraction of the minimum wage for hours of intensive administrative labor is deeply concerning. Signing their contract might bind you to financial obligations without reaping just rewards. Stay wary and think twice before becoming entangled in their unfair and exploitative practices.

My daughter went through various tutors and in the main the lessons were well delivered. The issue with the National Learning Groups is with their communication internally between tutors, finance and their tutor allocations team. Despite requesting timings be changed to lessons around a month prior to lessons restarting after the holidays no response given from tutor that there was any issue resulting in payment being taken for lessons not recieved. Catch up lessons are always offered even when lessons are missed due to issues on the tutor side despite continually making NLG aware that this is unsuitable. NLG will quote their small print/Ts&Cs instead of taking ownership for issues their end therefore as long as you're happy to be messed around with payments the lessons in the main I feel are well delivered. Hi Gentiana, we provide 'make up credits' for any missed lessons and then reschedule them for you so that you never miss out on a lesson you have paid for. This is a great system, where many of other companies would just charge you and not make up the lesson. What inspired you to start your own business?
Many years ago we were looking for tuition for our children. Everything we found was either a tutor coming to the home (which we didn't want), us having to go to a centre (which was impractical) or a computer programme where we were tied in for 3 -5 years (No thanks!!) We saw a gap for great quality, great value, one to one tuition with real tutors but done over video chat. We strive to be the best at what we do, and provide our students with the best possible support.
Why should our clients choose you?
We don't tie people into long unnecessary contracts - we let the teaching do the talking. We are extremely selective over the tutors who work for us, and they are given in depth training before starting with us. This means that we can keep the quality high, and give our students the support that they deserve.
