Naomi Ferrett-Cohen is a Sussex based planting and garden designer, whose life-long love of the outdoors and gardening inspires her creativity. In 2018 Naomi won a Silver-Gilt medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the design of the A Life Without Walls garden and she regularly contributes towards other show gardens around the UK.

An excellent project between Naomi, her team, Chelsea Flower Show at Wexham Park Hospital. A garden called 'Finding your way' dedicated to the NHS in 2021 show. Our hospital charity funded the transfer and install of the garden, which took its own personality once in situ. The area now offers so much to so many. Colour, textures, attracts wildlife for our patient's, visitors and staff to truly take time in and find harmony and peace. Naomi is a true delight to work with and we hope to do more projects in the future. Thank you from hundreds of people who have already enjoyed the garden coming up to its first birthday on 5th July. We asked Naomi to give us ideas for our north facing back garden just south of the South Downs. We were included from the outset and felt very involved in the final planting plan. Naomi arranged for the original garden to be ‘taken away’ and for the delivery of soil, mulch, plants and trees. She supervised the planting and gave advice about watering and aftercare. Nearly 3 years later we are really pleased that the garden continues to flourish and surprise us as the plants mature. More...

Naomi, what can we say? We hit a wall with regards to using our small garden space effectively. Naomi supported us in developing our vision, scattering her seeds of wisdom we came up with a plan. Naomi measured out the space, suggested colours, designs, plants and we began. The journey is not yet complete but the 5 stars are due to the knowing that the plan is taking shape, spring planting to go! We are very excited as a family as we have gained an extra room! Naomi has completely transformed our garden from a large lawned area to a beautifully bordered landscaped space. Her thoughts on design and attention to what flowers, shrubs and trees suited our garden and it’s needs were very detailed. She has been very easy to work with and has taken on any changes we asked for and put them in her design. Throughout the major landscaping she checked with us that we were happy and took on board our comments. The work was carried out with minimum disruption and everything was kept tidy as the work continued. Since it was completed, Naomi has visited and worked further on adding more plants, mulching the soil and adapting things around the garden. She worked on a care plan for the garden for us, we are complete novices at gardening, and has helped to keep the garden looking beautiful. It really did look stunning in the Spring into Summer and still looks good in the Winter. More...

What do you love most about your job?
When arriving at a garden that's been neglected for years, Naomi loves the opportunity to transform a space and to enable it to achieve its full potential. Often people don't know how to make the garden come together, Naomi brings her experience and talent to the elements within the garden and transforms it into something that feels like a desirable space, potentially full of colour and flourishing in all seasons.
Naomi has a love for the design process and problem-solving and can see how to bring together different requirements whilst maintaining a beautiful and attractive area that is enticing, ready to be used and enjoyed.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Much influenced by her landscaper father, from a young age Naomi has been a keen gardener. Since then, nature and gardening have formed the constant backdrop to her working and family life, whether pottering in her own garden or when she volunteered in the stunning and inspirational gardens at Parham House in West Sussex.
Having attained her RHS Level II in Horticulture, Naomi went on to train with the London College of Garden Design, gaining a Garden Design Diploma in 2015 and a Planting Design Diploma in 2016, both with Distinction. Naomi was drawn to pursue her passion and subsequently went on to set up her own business.
