Had an amazing afternoon tea today with my Mam and mother in law. Food was delicious and we had food left over which we could take home. It was far too good to leave! Nanny G is the most kind hearted lady you could ever meet. Been to the tea room twice now, sadly she wasn't there the first time but it's understandable as she is a very busy lady. Went in a second time and I was greeted with a lovely smile and a hug. I took my Mam and 7 year old son for afternoon tea today and I have to say I was very impressed. Nothing was too much trouble and my requests were accommodated in a professional and friendly manner. Their bookings were running a little behind (through no fault of their own) but the staff took good care of us whilst we waited for our table and were friendly and professional throughout the service. The food was amazing and plentiful! The scones were the best I've tasted and the cakes were as delicious as I'd imagined. The kids afternoon tea was fab and my son loved everything he was given. We ended up taking some of the food home with us there was so much on offer. I will definitely be back again and would recommend you visit this little gem of a place. Me, my mum and sister visited Nanny g for afternoon tea. The table was ready for our arrival, and we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee straight away. Then we were given a few moments until the 1st course was served, the sandwiches was amazing and really fresh, next course was a gorgeous homemade fresh warm cheese scone with butter. Next course was a warm fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. Finally last course we got to choose any cake we wanted out of the freshly baked cakes in the cabinet, they came out with stunning lemon cheesecake, brownies, brandy tarts and a slab of cake we choose. As we could not eat the last course this was not a bother for any of the staff, they boxed it all up for us to take home. Even Mr g came out and talked to us about everything and how he even makes the burgers and peels potatoes for chips. We certainly will be back because of the wonderful staff and the amazing homemade food and also to try the burgers and chips, thankyou so much for making our day out lovely xx More...

I got took to Nanny G for a surprise Mother's Day treat and what a surprise it was. It was fantastic from the moment we set foot in the door to leaving. The staff was so friendly and welcoming.The food was gorgeous and plenty of it and what you don't eat you take home with you. I even got to pick which songs I wanted playing in the back ground. Unlimited tea and coffee. A variety of sandwiches,sausage rolls,pin wheels, cheese and grapes followed by warm cheese scones and fruit scones jam and clotted cream then followed by a variety of cakes and a large piece of nanny g famous wedge cake. Food was unbelievable tasty,atmosphere is loverly what a gorgeous tea room. And thank you for my present for Mother's Day (all mothers got a present from Nanny G ) which was lovely. I will definetly be returning to Nanny G. I highly recommend it. It has got to have been one of the nicest afternoon teas I have ever had so thank you Nanny G and all your staff for making my Mother's Day even more special xxxx More...

Visited nanny g for the first time today. It's not a big place but we were lucky to get a seat. Menu has a great deal of choice and the prices are fantastic. Hubby and I opted for homemade pork and black pudding burger and a lamb and mint burger both with homemade chips. It's one of the best burgers I've ever had and the chips were outstanding I can honestly say not tasted any better! Pot of tea for 2 and the bill came to £12.50 (only £5 for burger and chips!!!) Fantastic food at fantastic prices this won't be my last visit that's for sure. Be patient when you're there as everything freshly cooked so a little bit of a wait - but well worth it! More...

This place is a beauty! The food is delicious and at a fair price, the service is second to none and the staff are first class. My daughter had the Slime birthday party here and it was brilliant. Absolutely gorgeous quaint little hidden treasure on Hylton Road. Lovely staff and service. Did a high tea for one to take out just at the drop of a hat as My Sister was having an operation today. Visited here today for my mams birthday, what can I say extremely friendly staff that go above and beyond for you, we had afternoon tea and I swear the amount of food we got I don't think I'll be able to eat for another couple of days, sandwiches all fresh and a few varieties, scones I was in heaven and the home made jam wow, last course defeated us, managed the mini cheesecake which I can say is the best I've ever tasted , cakes, strawberry tarts and millionaires shortbread all boxed to bring home, I highly recommend anyone who hasn't been here to give it a try I know we will be back

Had afternoon tea here today & I have to say it’s the best one yet! Ate at 12 and haven’t had another thing to eat today that’s how much food I ate! The cheesecake was the best I’ve ever tasted, only negative it wasn’t big enough! I’m not a lover of scones but again I actually throughly enjoyed the fruit scone, I think it may just have converted me into liking them! Visited here yesterday late morning, from walking in the door we were greeted with a smile and a very warm welcome from Vicky.
A table for 5 plus a toddler was soon arranged for us and shown the menus.
Vicky introduced herself and informed us that Nanny G was running the kitchen today. She was very pleasant, great customer care skills and very informative on the history of Nanny G and the whereabouts of Grandpa G (out buying supplies) and the menu.
Amazing selection on the menu and a most welcoming health option breakfast cooked with fry lite for any Sw foodies out there.
Cooked breakfast comes with toast and unlimited tea/coffee.
I had the omelette with a choice of three fillings, toast and beans all for £3!!!!
Of course we could not leave without a takeout selection of Nanny Gs famous doorstep cakes, a couple of quiches for Dad and even Willow was kindly given a cupcake on leaving!
Prices were unbelievable.
Well worth a visit and can't wait to return to sample the burger menu with about 12 different burgers to choose from for just £3.50!!

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea today at Nanny G's. Everything was perfect from beginning to end, everything homemade, the food was delicious, I had the Grandad G's afternoon tea as I'm more of a savoury girl than a sweet and can I just say. .. the black pudding scotch egg was suberb! �Along with everything else. 5* all the way, well deserved from Gaye and the team.
