What a delightful experience to hire Nancy Jo to shoot my professional headshot. As a marketing person, I understand how the importance of relationships and being able to relate to another can positively or negatively impact the outcome of a project. So, true is it to establish a connection with a photographer when needing a headshot.Nancy Jo is not only an experienced professional in the area of portrait photography, but she has a sparkling personality who welcomes you into her beautifully decorated and comfortable studio. How can you not like Nancy Jo immediately upon first meeting her? She explains her process, asks you want you what to accomplish, what type of image or "feel" you want to accomplish, how you want to use the photography and what she has in mind for the shoot. It is a collaborative experience and she skillfully knows how to capture your personality through the camera.In addition, to being a proven and successful photographer, she is very attentive to details: noticing (for example) if a hair is out of place, a collar isn't laying quite right, if your lipstick is smudged or checks your posture before she takes a shot.Without hesitation, I would encourage and recommend Nancy Jo Photography for any of your portrait needs. Nancy Jo is fantastic!! She did an amazing job with my daughter's senior portraits and we loved them so much we had her do our family portraits a few months later! We are a casual family and didn't want anything poised or fussy. She captured our family vibe perfectly and even got my teenage son to smile and look like he actually enjoyed it.... a feat in itself!! She "had me at 'Hello!" Personable professionalism with a down-to-earth homey feel is Nancy Jo Photography. She promptly responded to my initial email inquiry and left me a voicemail. When I called her back, it was as if I was talking to a longtime friend, which made it easy to express my "photo concerns" to her. She listened (& heard me) and quickly addressed my questions with an artist know-how that spoke volumes about her eye for color and details so that I would look my best. On the day of the shoot, she was a pleasure to be with and her assistant photographer (Hanna) -- a true protégé! -- was a gem in her contribution with knowing just where to go and how to capture outdoor shots that would convey my heart's intent.
