Hidden gem in a strip mall in Evans. Excellent service too. We've eaten Indian food the world over and generally know what to order by figuring out the chef's story. Let me say this is probably the best masala dosa anywhere. Fresh, classic dishes updated with creative healthy ingredients (where are they getting the watermelon radishes?). Not exactly street food quantities of snacks - quite generous amounts of bhel puri and kale-chickpea salad. I hope this gorgeous presentation and loving preparation is sustainable. Feels like the owner is single handedly introducing South Indian food to Georgia. Finish up the meal with a Madras coffee. More...

If you are looking to try Indian food in the Augusta/Evans area this is the place to go! I haven't tried everything but what I have tried is fantastic. The Goan chicken is just the right amount of spicy. You must get the samosas! They are crunchy perfection and the filling is amazing. Sometimes the regular naan will come out a little thin and burnt on the bottom but I've never had an issue with the garlic naan. They also do online ordering for takeout. More...

So I think the initial kinks have been worked out and I'm so happy about it! Tonight's samosa chaat was delicious and had everything I needed and more. A few weeks ago I tried the lunch thali (veggie of course) and it was really good. The chutneys have been redone and are really, really good now. Overall, I enjoy this food more than the local competition. More...

You ever been so hungry just thinking about eating a specific food makes your mouth water? What's even better is when that food is cooked incredibly well and lives up to your tastebuds hype. My husband, the creature of habit he is, orders his favorite, a variation of a cone chicken. This go around he got the sesame Asian flavor, and it was fairly good. I loved the crunch on the few pieces he shared, although I found it a bit sweeter for my liking. No complaints from my old man though. We also shared a cheese kulcha, and if you haven't tried it, what are you waiting for? Two thumbs up from my kids.I wanted to try something different and got the chicken tikka, with curry - instead of it being dry. I usually order butter chicken, but holy mother of pearl, it was everything I dreamed of and then some. The  portion was easily shareable for two, but leftovers are always a plus. The chicken inside, the pieces were huge and plentiful. Anywhere I looked I could find chicken, and it was moist, and seasoned well. The veggies that were included in the curry were soft and very pleasant as well, no chewy or burnt pieces. This is going higher up on our "what do you want to eat, I don't know, what do you want to eat" list. This is, hands down, one of the best restaurants in Augusta /Evans. The food is amazing, freshly made, flavorful, well seasoned. The menu has a great variety, offers way more authentic choices than any of the Indian places in the area. The food quality and presentation is something you are more likely to find in an upscale restaurant in a big city; we are just lucky to have this kind of experience right here, in Evans. I have tried more than half of their menu at this point, and have loved most everything. If this is your first visite and you arent sure where to start, their lunch thali selection is a great place to start. Their naans are absolutely delicious; all the appetizers I have tried have been great as well. And you can't go here and not have their Dosa (I prefer their dosa masala with the amazing spicy potato stuffing!). So thankful to have Namaste as an amazing addition to the restaurant scene here! I love the flowers in the front and the fresh flowers on the tables. I finally had the chance to try this place out, and overall, I'd say the items I chose were good. Everyone was nice and the food came out not too long after I ordered. The menu has a lot to offer but I'm not a huge fan of having to order in the front. I enjoy reading over menus and putting thought into what I really want. I'm glad there wasn't a line behind me because it would've made me feel rushed. I do have to mention that I was not expecting the portions to be as large as they were but no complaints here. My kid had the butter chicken and paratha. She enjoyed it. I also ordered the samosa chaat and chicken korma. I hope this place does well. More...

There's plenty of parking and pretty simple to order or even pick food up.  Upon entering, the set up was a little different than I expected - counter ordering and self-bussing. Don't let this fool you because I really enjoyed the food here.I had the lamb biriyani-it had a kick of heat. I could've used more of the yogurt based sauce but never asked for more. Meat was flavorful and tender.I shared the kale pakora which I loved! I was recommended by someone else picking up their food. It reminds me of a lightly deep fried kale chip.I would definitely come back here for a quick fix and to try the naan. More...

We have now been back twice since my original review and really enjoyed it both times; more so than the first visit. We tried some of the street foods and really found them unique and delicious--you won't get these types of dishes at the other Indian restaurants in town. We had the samosa chaat--imagine chopped up samosas with fresh vegetables over it. Then we had the uttapam with chicken--fluffy pancake dish with vegetables and chicken cooked into it. Last we had the burrata butter chicken--we had it on our first visit and it's so creamy, flavorful and delicious. On our next visit we went for lunch and each had a thali--chicken for me and lamb for my husband. The thali had a meat curry, vegetable curry (green beans on the day we went), saag paneer, a Dahl like dish, dessert dish, and yogurt sauce. Served with naan and rice. It's an excellent deal and really delicious. After an average initial experience, we ventured out of our normal orders for our subsequent visits and sure are glad we did. We will definitely be. back. Went there while visiting my sister who lives in Augusta. We are Indian so finding quality Indian food is important to us, and we can be a bit snobby about finding the best places. This place was definitely a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the helpful staff. We ordered the garlicky cauliflower to start, and then the samosa chaat and paneer tikka masala with garlic naan. The food was tasty and authentic, and the portion sizes were generous. I LOVE Namaste Indian Street Food!!!! Everything on the menu is made with care and precision with the freshest ingredients by Manoj (the owner) and Chef, who are extremely talanted and classically trained. They both worked as head chefs at The Augusta National and were boyhood friends in Kerla, in the South of India. They had a dream to open their own restaurant to pay homage to their roots in Indian cuisine and make DELICIOUS Indian Street Food accessible here in Augusta, Ga. In April 2018 their dream came true. Everyone is raving about how great the Butter Chicken and Garlicky Cauliflower are. The restaurant smells like Heaven as aoon as you go inside and the vibe is really positive. I love the music which is isually like a remix of Ravi Shankar and Bollywood-goodness. You feel transported. I had the honor of designing their first restaurant here in Evans, Ga. We wanted a modern take on Authentic Indian Cuisine. Namaste is great for lunch, dinner or a quick coffee or juice. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the restaurant it is very tidy/clean. We have been dying to try this place after seeing social media hype and reading other reviews.  I will admit the inside was a little more casual than I was expecting, but still clean and bright. We ordered the Murg Makkai Soup (thick corn and chicken soup), burrata butter chicken, and Goan street vindaloo with lamb, and garlic naan. The soup seemed to be somewhat of a misnomer. It was not thick at all; actually, it was quite thin. While it had the color of corn, there were no corn kernels to be found. The flavor was good, but overall was just very different that what we were expecting based on the description. The burrata butter chicken was delicious and a very decent portion. I often find myself wanting more meat at Indian restaurants when I order curry, but this place gave plenty of meat in their curry dishes. The Goan street vindaloo with lamb was different than I was expecting. The sauce was a very deep red/brown and almost a barbecue sauce taste, but had a nice spice level. The couple we went with had the tikka chicken, samosa chaat, cheese kulcha and shish kabob. They seemed to enjoy their food as well. However, we all agreed while the food was very good we weren't sure it's necessarily better than the other Indian options in town. More...
