Great food, drinks, and desserts We will definitely go back
The curry braised chicken was outstanding. Perfect blend of spices and super tender chicken. Best dish I’ve had in a long time.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinning experience. The great food, romantic atmosphere and spot on service.I understand this establishment can be pretty busy on weekends. Last night was perfect with a lighter set of diners.NaKorn deserves my 5 star rating. You will not be disappointed! More...

My favorite restaurant in Evanston! Impressive and delicious food! We love this restaurant and ambiance! The service is incredible and the owner is delightful.
First time here and can't wait to return. The flavor combinations are amazing and each dish is a feast for every sense. The plates are beautifully presented and a delicious mix of textures and flavors. We enjoyed the crab bites and the wedge salad was overwhelmingly my favorite dish of the night. We didn't care for the smoked fish bites as much. The Arctic char was delicious as was the Amish chicken. The chicken could have used some type of accompaniment as it was rather boring compared to the other dishes. Service was excellent and Sam stopped by numerous times to check on us. This is not your typical Thai restaurant but so much more. More...
Great service and food with real history and personality. Everything I've ever tried there had been phenomenal. Great restaurants run by great people.
My best Thai food experience. I ordered the coconut prawn curry and it was delicately sweet and the fresh prawns really come thru. The rice was also a star itself. Perfectly steamed, not sticky, not dry, very aromatic. I've had a lot of rice in my life and it's def up there on the list. The portion wasn't too large, but just enough to leave you satisfied. My friend had the chicken noodle and said it was the best noodles he's ever had. Overall, all the food was very balanced, a key to proper Thai cuisine imo. Highly recommend for students as well--affordable price and also ask for a student discount! More...
This restaurant is so different from many Thai restaurants in US. No Tom Yum Soup, no Pad Thai. It provides different set of traditional home-style Thai cuisines with modern twist. We ordered Pan Seared Sea Scallop, Mina's Braised Short Ribs, and Jumbo Lump Blue Crabmeat. They were all very good. Furthermore, the service was really excellent. So was the ambiance. Truly enjoyed the experience. More...
My wife and I have been looking for good Thai food in the suburbs for a long time. You won't find tradition Pad Thai, Panang Curry type dishes here. This is true cuisine with authentic ingredients and flavors. The coconut curry braised Chicken had one of the best sauces I've had in years. I literally licked my plate clean. We will for sure be back. More...
great experience and food! the staff were all so attentive and kind. the food was unique - a very interesting mix of flavors. check out the menu before going because its different than a typical thai restaurant youd find around chicago - but definitely gets high marks in my book! we ordered the vegetarian dishes and were very happy with everything. An absolutely spectacular restaurant with unique and outstanding dishes matched only by the managenent's caring and personal investment in its patrons. I had the coconut curry braised chicken, boasting a combination of flavors that was a first for me. Everything about the dishes is interesting as well as flavorful. Lots of delicious surprises along the way ... small onions, slivered almonds, potato straws (I think ... not even sure). You just can't wait to see what's next on that fork. The dessert was equally interesting, and delicious. Banana bread with vanilla ice cream but with a brûléed banana and other fun stuff. What a treasure. Hands down the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. Will definitely be back. (Pics don't do the dishes justice. We are outside, and it was dark out.) More...
This food is incredible. From the moment we walked in, this felt like a culinary experience you may get in the Mission in San Francisco. Classic thai ingredients presented in a creative way that is refreshing and delightful to your tastebuds. We started with the whitefish bites for an appetizer and from that moment, I knew we were in for a treat. Never tasted anything like it. We actually bought one to bring back to our babysitter. We split the Kale & Tofu and a coconut fish dish. Both of them were outstanding.Highly recommend! More...
A Thai restaurant without pad Thai? Oh my! NaKorn charts its own path on the Evanston restaurant scene, challenging diners to expand their definition of what Thai food is. Sam, a co-owner, is a pure delight. She greeted me, made sure all was well with my meal, and explained that she grew up in a Southern Thai town that didn't have a street light until she was ten. There was no grocery store, only a guy in a truck she waived down for food.NaKorn was birthed to bring Evanstonians a taste of what she ate growing up. While you won't find pad woon sen or lard nar, you will discover the pleasure of Kuhn Sompit's Big Fish, "branzino served crispy and whole with Belgian Endive and lime gastrique," and other delicacies. If you love the adventure of discovering new foods, eating in a beautiful space, and getting treated like you're a guest in their home, stroll down to NaKorn. You won't regret it. More...
Waited for second visit before reviewing. Personnel: exceptional from hostess, table bussing, waiter (very helpful) to the owner(s). Ambiance: only experience was outside however was told the interior is very impressive. Beverage: always good to have choice of Thai beer plus a choice of local micro brews served.Food: the sauces that accompanied Arctic char and coconut-curry chicken were superb requiring extra rice to insure "good to last drop".Desert: Mango, coconut sweet sticky rice deserves a "special mention" for presentation and combination of flavors. Chocolate mousse was a surprisingly large portion that was shared earning rave reviews. In summary NaKorn has joined my limited Evanston restaurants go to list. If you have visitors with an adventurous pallet include NaKorn to their Evanston dining experience.James More...
Nakorn is one of the best if not the best restaurant in Evanston. Everything is impressive. The ambiance and the artistic design are unique and welcoming. Since I visited few weeks ago I feel like going back all the time. I don't know how to startNakorn has the best raspberry hibiscus soda I have ever tasted. It is made in house and to perfection in terms of sweet/sour balance, taste and sense of freshness.I tasted the Arctic Char which I found very reach in taste and aromas. This is the best fish dish I had in Evanston for sure. I also strongly recommend the Cauliflower rice. My friend ordered it and I got to taste it and found it very delicious. I strongly recommend Coconut Curry Chicken. Exceptional aroma. I give Nakorn 10 out of 10 for food presentation and taste.Desserts: Nakorn offers exceptional deserts: Mango Sticky Rice was superb along with the chocolate mousse. The dessert menu offered nontraditional, very tasty with excellent presentation and freshness. The service is exceptional: hostess, waiter and table server are very warm and kind, professional and friendly. The owners come to table to friendly greet you, to tell you a story about the meals you have ordered and to thank you for visiting. I find that very rare and special in a culture where often in other restaurants the treatment is impersonal. Both the ambiance and personnel give a feeling of warmth, true care, unique and world class meal and a very happy ambiance.I am glad that we have Nakorn and superb Thai cuisine in our city and feel proud to be able to take friends there . This place is fantastic! The menu is not extensive, but the flavors and presentation outstanding. We had the lump blue crab with noodles and the strip steak. Each came with a delicious curry. The steak's curry was coconut based with green chilies. Delicate and delicious. The crab's was broth based with saffron. Awesome. Best of all, very reasonably priced (about $20/entree). Service was attentive and the sidewalk patio a good choice. More...
Excellent service and good food. This restaurant was a very short walk from my hotel, had good reviews, and i was looking for a relatively quick dinner and Thai sounded good. From the very beginning, the service was excellent. The servers and the hostess were all extremely polite and very helpful. For appetizers, I got their ginger popcorn chicken. Very flavorful but also very decadent (deep fried and sweet). For the main meal I got their coconut braised chicken curry, which was not quite one of the traditional Thai curries, but was good. I can't recall the cocktail I had but it was delicious. All in all a very nice place. Good food, great service, and nice ambience. More...
After a wonderful dinner tonight, my husband and I have decided this is our new favorite restaurant! All of the dishes were so unique but so flavorful. We ordered way too much food because we were on a date night, but now we have some great leftovers! The scallop entree and the chicken curry were amazing, and we loved the mango sticky rice dessert. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back soon to try more dishes! This is a good special occasion place, but is not too pricey that you couldn't also come whenever! They have mocktails too which was a plus for my husband who had to drive! More...
What a cool place, I've had plenty of Thai food in my life, but this was something new. It was the perfect mix of authentic flavors with modern, american fusion. It's not really a fusion place but it's not classic/authentic Thai... it's like an upscale, gourmet version. Everything is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. More...
I came to NaKorn with a big party, and they were super accommodating which was much appreciated. Love the vegan options. The vegetarian scallops were really good but the cauliflower steak seems a little undercooked. Everyone in the party enjoyed their food but the only issue was the temperature in the restaurant. Since we were sitting near the door cold air kept coming in from outside. Besides this overall a great meal! More...
Beautiful food. Delicious and surprising combinations. Great service. Delightful.
From the moment you walk in- it has a relaxing aura & tasty food ... we had a great time

If you like Thai and want to experience traditional authentic Thai delights, Nakorn is the place to be.

Such an amazing evening with my girls and unbelievably great food. Loved it so much we shut the place down. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it again!

The food was comforting and delicious. We had the house made Pandan Tapioca Crackers with relish of minced chicken and shrimp with a tamarind- coconut sauce. It touched all the happy points on my tongue. This was followed by the Charred Eggplant and Tomato Salad. Nice and light. We finished with the Roasted Duck Breast and coconut rice. The duck was cooked to perfection. The broth was so comforting. Just delicious. The service was very good. More...
I went to Nakorn while traveling to Chicago. They had a great menu and we tried several dishes.
We started with the Taro chicken and the Pandan Tapioca pearl crackers as our appetizers. I was very impressed by the great flavors and the way it was served.
We then had the Sea scallops and the Vegetarian scallops. I am not a vegetarian but I wanted to try them both. Both were great choices and were delicious.
We then ordered the braised pork shank and Khun Sompits big fish. Both items were excellent. We will definitely return when we are in town.
Topped the whole experience off with coconut creme pie parfait and the chocolate mouse.
Very clean restaurant with a great atmosphere and service. More...
I had a wonderful meal here at NaKorn with my son. The ingredients are fresh, the meal cooked and served with a delicate touch. For those of you who have traveled and know that Thailand has a wide variety of cuisines, you will enjoy eating here. They have a wonderful wine list and the mixed drinks are very creative. A great addition to the Evanston dining scene. More...
We dined at NaKorn last night and it was delicious. The coconut broth (with shrimp, mussels, squid and mushrooms) was fantastic. The best Thai food I've ever had was Lotus of Siam (in Las Vegas) until I went to NaKorn! So happy to have it in Evanston. More...
