Seeking legal advice after this company took £400 from my elderly parents for a dishwasher repair, then said it needed further parts and demanded more money. The dishwasher still does not work and the company refusing to discuss the matter or refund any of the money. Avoid at all costs. More...

Service call absolutely amazing that's about all I can say, call out £90 to diagnose the problem no part on van (seems to be the norm looking at reviews) which I understand as they don't know the fault. ..however a broken belt part to come back and fit another £72.00 ...for a part that costs no more than £20!!! Wish I had seen these reviews earlier as it seems they never fix anything and get 90+ for attendance. I will not let this go absolutely shocking and a total waste of money. I will be going to the ombudsman and I will be reporting this company absolutely shocking service I don't want a vulnerable customer to be ripped off like we have been....cheaper to buy new but now I'm 90 quid out of pocket thankyou for nothing...... Paid £96 for a call out/repair visit and was told that my Rangemaster cooker needed a replacement spark generator and a part cost quote would be sent tomorrow morning. That evening, out of curiosity, I went on the official Rangemaster spare parts website and was told (via live chat) that a genuine spare part is priced at £111 (non genuine are a lot cheaper). Part cost quotation was sent to me by NAC the following day coming in at £340!! Spoke to NAC and asked why they were charging over three times the cost of a genuine part and the women got very defensive and stroppy and said that they 'don't get their parts from Rangemaster' and NAC 'never said their parts where the cheapest'. They also refused to fit 'self sourced' parts even if they are genuine parts sourced from the manufacturer. I suggested to NAC that this was nothing short of a scam but the women said that this was just my opinion. She said she would look into the cost but never got back to me. £96 wasted! NAC seem to rely on the fact that customers have already paid for the £96 repair/call out visit up front and then abuse their customers' trust and ignorance by charging them extortionate prices for parts. I got scammed out of £305 by a dishwasher repair man who then ghosted me and changed his number. NAC completely washed their hands of it and what's worse is they are still giving this man work! They are not trustworthy at all. Please avoid! More...

Abysmal. Avoid NAC - the fitter arrived and diagnosed the problem with the our dishwasher, however when re-applying the door cover to the dishwasher, after inspection, he over-tightened the screws so they damaged the panel. He left the dishwasher open so that the cover was facing the floor, and the issue was only spotted after the fitter had left. Photos were sent to NAC as evidence, and we simply requested that they replaced the damage they'd caused. Instead, they are refusing to accept responsibility as it wasn't highlighted while the fitter was onsite. More...

HOPELESS

We explained that the igniters on our Smeg hob had stopped working. An engineer contacted us + duly arrived on time to carry out the repair - said he would order the part required and return to fit it. A second engineer came 4 days later but couldn't remove the hob from the worktop, he said that the company would contact Smeg to find out how to extract it
and return to fix the problem in a few days time. After he left we found the gas burner could not be turned down to low without extinguishing the flame rendering it almost useless.

Ten days later we there was still no contact to let us know what was happening. We called NAC and they said they would contact their engineer and ask him to call- nothing happened- We called again the next day + NAC gave us the direct contact number of the engineer - when we called they said that we had been told to contact Smeg directly and arrange them to do the repair(not true!) and that they had washed their hands of us because they couldn't do the repair.
The whole episode cost us no money, but a lot of wasted time
phone calls and disappointment, plus a hob that almost impossible to use. Don't waste you time, go direct to a professional company such as Smeg

Terrible experience from start to finish. They have finally returned all monies to us after not only failing to repair the machine but seemingly losing a part so leaving it worse than was started. Had to get extra workmen in to help them look at an inbuilt dishwasher and when complaints raised they were sarcastic, bullying and belittling. It was always my fault. They give the impression of being a large company but it is a small organisation with little customer care. My advice is to keep looking for someone else and void at all costs More...
