Rev Jay was GREAT! All the way from the beginning, when I first made contact with him, to the end of the ceremony! He was our officiant and we also rented our chairs and decor from his company for our ceremony. He responded promptly, always answered every question, gave great recommendations, etc. He made us feel like we were the only couple he was working with, which is so important and special. He even went out of his way to send in our marriage license for us since we got married over a holiday weekend. He made our ceremony so special and personalized to us. He is absolutely INCREDIBLE and made everything go so smooth! I can't thank him enough for everything and making our wedding ceremony so beautiful. Rev. Jay was amazing, he was easy to work with, and excellent at what he does. We live quite a ways away from the outer banks, and he was able to help us make our big day special, without us having to drive the 8+ hours to meet with him multiple times. He replies to emails quickly, and isn't put off about being contacted later in the evenings or on weekends. He truly made our day special and unique. I began planning my Outer Banks destination wedding from Connecticut almost two years ago. I found Rev. Jay online and started watching his videos and looking through his pictures. I knew he was our man when I watched a video and he was comparing a wedding to some type of sporting event (I’m not sure if it was baseball or football, but I know it was something sports related). He also had such a humble tone to his voice, which really stood out to me. He was so responsive and answered all of our questions. I was nervous about our ceremony on the 4x4 beach at the Mark Twain House, but he assured me it would be fine. We decided not to have a rehearsal and met Rev. Jay for the first time on our wedding day. Our wedding was this past Friday, 5/25/18 and let me tell you Rev. Jay Bowman was absolutely INCREDIBLE. He truly made the ceremony. We got chills watching our ceremony on video the next morning because of him. All of our guests came to me after asking how I knew or had found him. Jay was absolutely amazing!! He was great to work with, extremely professional and down to earth! He always responded to us as soon as possible, he walked us through everything for our day. We were both so nervous about how everything was going to go, but Jay made everything so easy! He was laid back, incorporated everything we wanting in our ceremony, and made our guests feel involved. We really couldn't have asked for anything better! We hadn't met Jay previous to our wedding date, and when we did it felt like we had known him for years. He put so much heart into our special day. Tom and I feel blessed to have had Jay perform our marriage ceremony! I was a bit apprehensive about having an out of state wedding, but Jay assuaged all of my concerns and responded quickly to any questions we had. He was truly interested in our love story and made each of our five children feel part of our marriage ceremony. The surprise thundershower might have ruffled a few feathers if Jay's flexibility and ability to think on his feet hadn't saved the day! Rev. Jay was amazing! Everything we were hoping to achieve at a destination venue with a somewhat unknown reverend was fulfilled by Jay. Jay was extremely responsive to all of our questions, called and spoke to us quite a few times prior to our arrival to understand what we were wanting to ensure we were aligned in our expectations. Jay arrived early for the rehearsal and made everyone involved in the wedding, including my bride and I, feel totally comfortable with how the ceremony would flow and stayed after the run through to answer all questions. Jay showed up on the wedding day visiting both of us early to assist with alleviating any butterflies/jitters/concerns then proceeded to lead our entire party though the ceremony. First off, I have to say a huge thank you to Rev. Jay Bowman. My Husband and I had a beautiful wedding. However, what I will remember the most is how Rev Jay Bowman presented our ceremony. He made it personal, funny, emotional, and most importantly he made it fit my husband and I so well that we didn't have an ounce of tension.. Our experience with Rev. Jay was truly spectacular. From the very beginning, I knew we were in good hands and had the best person to guide us on our special day.
From the email communication from him and his team, to our meeting a few days before the ceremony, everything was great!
We received many compliments from our wedding attendees on Rev. Jay. Most of them commenting on how personable he was and how it truly felt like he had known us forever. He directed us and guided us with kindness through the planning process and the actual ceremony, making each part it's own special memory.

Rev. Jay Bowman was absolutely great! We could not have asked for a better officiant! He was great the beginning with collecting information about me and my husband, and really making sure that he was personalizing our ceremony. He arrived to the site, and made me feel at ease before the wedding. He kept the crowd engaged, and interested, and even including some of what we wrote about our love story in the ceremony. I have heard nothing but raves about how great he was from all of my family and friends.
