SMT Ambulance
We at Specialist Medical Transport offer a Secure transportation service to the Mental Health Units across the country, SMT see that Patient and staff safety is one of the most important items in the medical world. In previous years we have used other training services which do not even come close to MVA Training Limited. We organised MVA to deliver a 2 day bespoke course in PMVA suited to the transportation world, We provided the training room, cell vehicle and physical training area, MVA did all the rest, the feedback from every single member of our staff was phenomenal, we even had a member of staff who struggles with paperwork and the instructor handled this discreetly and professionally.As a company who deals with forensic mental health on a daily occurrence I feel satisfied my staff have gained enough knowledge to keep the patients and themselves safe and secure.SMT have given MVA all of its PMVA, mechanical restraint and search training, MVA will be keeping records of staff who need refreshers etc and a close working partnership has evolved. I attended MVA’s Prevention & Management of Violence & Aggression 3 day course. Ash & Lawrence, the trainers, were excellent. They give clear explanations of each technique and the reasoning behind them. They are the least restrictive for the service user and safest by far. Their training techniques are the best I have ever experienced. I have attended many courses, of the same nature, over the years such as, PRICE, INCISIVE, CONTROL & RESTRAINT & RESPECT to name a few. MVA training are the best by far!! I would highly recommend them to all employers and establishments that require this training to stay safe and more importantly keep their services users safe. I can’t speak highly enough of MVA training and everywhere I work, as I am an independent provider, I recommend these guys. They teach many courses as well as the above, such as Health & Safety, First Aid, Manual Handling to name a few. They also sell first aid equipment at the best prices!! I have been trained in 3 different restraint techniques over the years. I have to say this is without question the best MVA I have been trained in. We are taught how to manage very risky scenarios in way that follows the Mental Health Act and the law whislt keeping everyone safe. *Refresher Review*Well it’s been a year since my PMVA training and I’ve just had my 3 day refresher. OMG I ache AGAIN!! Finished the course yesterday and today I can hardly walk! Such a FANTASTIC course and I still highly recommend. I’ve learned new techniques this time round too. Very worthwhile training and Ash is the best trainer. Ash breaks down the Law and Legislation to Breakaway interventions into interesting bite size chunks. If you don’t understand Ash is able to break down the history and legislation even further for you. The information legislative cognitive part of this course is very interesting, it makes you think ,ask questions but equally it provides you with solid evidence and theory to make safe interventions with confidence and solid knowledge of the whys where’s and maybes.Ash then uses flexibility re his vast experience and his nous to guide you though safe and effective breakaway techniques he always underpins everything with evidence base and asks you as the clinician to think carefully. I enjoyed the 5 day course. I have done many similar courses over the years. However, this course had a better balance of theory and practice. Understanding the law around MVA is vital to putting it into practice with confidence through appropriate justification. Also having all the names and the level of intervention for each technique explained makes recording staff reactions to incidents all the easier. Great training!! Although I ache in muscles I never thought existed!! OMG do you feel it after 3 days MVA (Managing Violence and Aggression)training! !! What inspired you to start your own business?
There is a lot of bad training out there. I have been exposed to a lot of bad training organisations that don't put the client first at all. I knew that the clients deserved a better level of experience and also knew that I could provide that for them.
