I like Mudlick because my husband likes beer and I like food. The menu goes far beyond bar food and really puts them a step above other tap houses/craft beer places in town. The high marks are for the creativity, tastiness, and variety of the menu. The location is nice - it's good to go downtown every now and again - and it has a lot of seating both upstairs and down, although during peak times you may encounter a wait. We typically like to grab 'lupper' on weekends so we usually arrive in the late afternoon and have fast service, and no parking issues. The decor is rustic and industrial, which is the norm for establishments reclaiming space in dying city cores. Unfortunately, this trend creates hard, cavernous spaces that are too loud and cacophonous to allow for conversation, and Mudlick is no exception to this rule. I lack a sharp, strong voice and have to yell in order to be heard, even when ordering. We have tried many things on the menu and liked them all, even the "healthy" choices and vegetarian offerings. It's hard for me to like healthy stuff over typical pub food and I eat healthier here without feeling deprived. (Except I have to have a few of someone else's french fries.)My husband likes the variety of on-tap and bottled beers available. They feature many local and regional craft brews and who doesn't like to drink local? We've taken the kids along and they like the food. Moreover, this gastro pub has a strong gastro side making it family appropriate. More...

I was with a party of 4 and no one really cared for the Dragon Braised Brisket Poutine appetizer for numerous reasons. Not a great way to start, however it was Happy Hour and we tried out a few new beers including the Dragon's Milk (which is much better in a bottle than on beef) and we got a whole lot happier! Our party ordered the scallops, spinach salad, shrimp and grits (not Louisiana style and a little heavy on the onions) and crab cakes and ate almost every bite! But, sadly, no one had room for dessert. As a tourist, I'm pleased to have found this place onbecause I hate eating at chain restaurants! More...

Awesome bar with a great vibe. They have a great selection of drinks, including cocktails. The service was excellent, and everything was quality. We want to come back and try a meal! It wasn't too crowded or loud, which we appreciated, (because it isn't in a busy restaurant area of downtown). We will definitely be repeat customers here. More...

What a fun place! Â We had lunch here based on other Yelp reviews. We had a good coffee stout beer, a greens appetizer, a spinach salad, and the shrimp grits. The service was great, and they actually seemed to enjoy being there. Would definitely check out again, maybe in the evening. More...

Before I forget: Do not skip the French fries.Located in the burgeoning metropolis of downtown Dayton, Mudlick Tap House is a treasure you must visit. Brunch, Happy Hour, Lunch, or Dinner - it all works  in your favor if you appreciate good food, an interestingly varied beer selection, deliciously inventive cocktails, and/or the best French fries you will ever have.Location:  135 E 2nd Street, Dayton OhioMenu:  mudlicktaphouse.comParking:  street parking available, free on weekendsPurposefully planned long, drawn out brunch on a Saturday afternoon is my favorite experience. This was my third visit.Officially termed  'Gastropub', I will tell you no matter what you're in the mood for - this is your spot. Two old-fashioned cocktails and an order of French fries, properly fried twice and served with aioli and catchup/ketchup... you won't regret this as a starter or snack.Switching to draft beers for a main course created with two starters  - the scallops were perfectly prepared and served on a slightly spicy rice dish. The buffalo cauliflower was tasty and my only critique is the tempura-coated florets should have been crisper - the dish still had nice flavor and was served with two dipping dressings:  ranch and Bleu cheese. The restaurant has a great ambience.  Industrial yet comfortable and somehow cozy. The staff is consistently knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely  interested in your experience.Enjoy! We had a private event, the catered food was fantastic. The drinks were good. The area around the restaurant is a bit sketchy, but if you don't mind that, it's a great place to check out. Park across the street after 5 and it should be free. More...

Stopped in with my family on a Saturday during brunch service. Friendly staff and great decor! Service is speedy and accurate. A little pricey for the portion size, though. The Gem City Poutine is amazing! Loved the Chorizo Gravy and Biscuits, too. We ordered two burgers at medium temperature (some pink), but one was overdone. Still, a very promising menu & meal. Food was delicious. My dad had the Phily cheese steak which was amazing with horseradish. I had a falafel burger with whiskey soaked mushrooms, fresh jalapeños and Gorgonzola. We also destroyed a pretzel with beer cheese. Service subpar which is especially disappointing given that they were not particularly busy on a Saturday night. I ordered a beer before I started eating,  and it was brought after we were done. We probably would have had two more if it had been more timely. More...

Some of the best French fries I've basically ever tasted. They room upstairs is PERFECT for a small gathering or a large "Pub Run". Staff is always nice and accommodating! Â Parking can be a little tight, especially on busy summer nights, so plan accordingly! Try the Warped Wing "Trotty Coddy" fish and chips. Definitely worth the calories! More...

Mudlick Tap House is located in a great building in downtown. The building has been home to a variety of businesses including Aquarius dance bar. I like that they left the cozy entrance as it is. The inside was redone in rustic wood making it a down home feel. The only gripe is how noisy it gets due the acoustics of the room. In the end it is a bar..but a bar that offers chef quality food made in house and carefully prepared and presented. The menu is eclectic and unique and the chef throws in a weekend specialty menu that brings the available food options to the top. I had the Ozar Salmon over a bed of wild rice, with corn, purple potatoes. I normally don't like wild rice but this was recipe is delicious. The flavors were perfect in the potatoes. The texture was also good.We started with the deviled eggs. I love any place that offers deviled eggs. However, I did think the mustard was a bit heavy and the radish garnish didn't do much for the flavor. They were still great! My friend had the gluten free mac cheese with a side of scallops which she said were some of the best she has had.Our waiter was great and knew the menu well. He also likes the scallops.Overall, is say this place is a must go once the again and again. The spirit menu was good offering a range drinks. Old fashion made with Bullet sticks out. They also gave Ginger ale. This place is good for small or large groups. The bar us good for the solo experience. O yeah..they have a patio. I can see how it can fun at night. One negative experience with Mudlick is their website. The menus link goes nowhere. It could use some uplifting all around. More...

Good food & great service. Our server, Elizabeth was very knowledgeable on the drink, specials & regular menu. We started with the Wicki leeks which were incredible. We had the TRIPLE LINDY,Grilled sourdough filled with creamy burrata, Havarti, and Mediterranean gouda and finished with tomato pesto, fresh basil, and artichoke. Menu description made it a must, plate presentation made us think we had made the wrong decision but one bite & it was grilled cheese heaven. The chicken Avo & kids chicken fingers were light & delicious. The atmosphere was a little cold & plate presentation weren't great but still a solid 4+star dining experience. More...
