I am a personal trainer with 5 years experience based in Kirkwall in the North of Scotland.

I have worked with hundreds of clients to help them feel better, move better, get stronger and run further/faster!

My specialty is helping women to lose fat through a combination of simple to follow nutrition and exercise guidelines.

Where do I start?! I started getting PT sessions from Martin in January and I can honestly say he's been amazing! Hes a very very knowledgeable PT and is always happy to share that knowledge with you. He knows exactly when to push you and how far to push, and is always full of encouragement for you. (His chat makes sessions even better). Even throughout the current pandemic he has kept in contact! I very highly recommend him!! More...

Having completed the 12 wk transformation programme I would really recommend doing it. It's hard work but Martin is great at changing it up and keeping you encouraged. I have gained lean muscle, I'm stronger and fitter. It's a brilliant step in gaining confidence to do more training for myself. Loved it! More...

Martin is a trustworthy and knowledgeable personal trainer who has helped me over the last few months towards achieving my fitness goals. I managed to drop from a body fat % of 29 to 27 in just over a month, and it is still reducing!! Martin provides professional and fun sessions tailored to each individual and can advise on dietary intake which was also an important aspect for me. Well where do I begin?!?! ����

Last October I signed up for PT with Martin because I was feeling rubbish. Physically and mentally �� I was tired of my faddy exercise plans that never amounted to anything as I would give up after a few weeks! I needed someone to kick my butt! To help me achieve my goals! To whip me in to shape! And boy has he done this! ��

Since starting my sessions with him thirteen months ago I have ran the Full Deer Stalker and completed the Tough Mudder (amongst other things �) I would NEVER have been able to do any of this without the expert training I have received from him. I feel the fittest I have ever felt and I continue to go from strength to strength in my training. He keeps me totally motivated and knows exactly what training I need to be doing for whatever crazy event I’ve signed up to! (And I wouldn’t be signing up for any events had I not started PT with him in the first place!)

He is an amazing PT, trustworthy, patient and kind and I can’t recommend him highly enough. The sessions are varied and fun and we always manage to have a good laugh too (when I’m not hating on him for medicine ball rollouts or Swiss ball push ups! ��)

I would like to say to anyone who is considering a session to give it a shot! You won’t be disappointed! My life has changed so much for the better, and there’s no looking back now! So thank you Martin, you are the best ����� �

Now that is quite enough of all the compliments! I’ll be back to swearing at you

Had a great time at strength camp, Martin really helped those of us that were new to lifting but was never patronising. He has a great approach to helping you work your hardest whilst keeping it fun.

Martin is a great PT. After years of neglecting my strength and mobility, I needed a boot up the arse to get into the gym, understand what I needed to do to get sorted and then stay motivated to keep going week after week. Martin provided all of that.

Several months later and I can honestly say that I'm transformed, and although it's early days, I'm not looking back. Martin was the key to getting me started and I can't thank him enough.

He's also a genuinely lovely fella and I always look forward to hanging out with him in the gym and having a bit of a chat as I'm working hard.

Q&As

The first step is to understand what the client specifically wants, then to understand where they are right now in terms of their health and fitness and then to agree a plan on how they are going to get there.

It then becomes a case of selecting the best tool (i.e. type of exercise, nutrition) to meet that objective and putting a plan in place.

There's no one secret, otherwise everybody would have the body of their dreams! It's about doing the basics well, enjoying the journey and looking long term, not looking for that quick fix!

After a long time working in Financial Services I decided I wanted to work in an area which I had a real interest in, and over time that interest has developed into a passion.

Because I know what works to get you towards your health/fitness goals and because I work in partnership with my clients. We will work together to find the most effective and healthiest way to help you reach your goal!

Yes. I have 2 options 1) We can arrange 1 to 1 online sessions which will be "follow along" style sessions or 2) I have a number of programs which I will give you to complete in your own time and I will check in with you on a weekly basis

This is an online program which you do in your own time and is designed to help women get the benefits of resistance training and movement training.
