We hired David in 2018 to complete plans and over see the renovation of our home. We had a dormer bungalow which we wanted to renovate to allow for 3 bed rooms upstairs and a kitchen dinning renovation.

I would highly recommend David. He provided such high-quality work in designing our home renovation. Our project was a kitchen extension in a three bedroom, mid-terrace home in Dublin. We approached David with an idea, and not only did he deliver on our list of expectations, he gave us so much more. We could not have imagined we could gain so much from a relatively small space, but David’s plan maximised every square inch of the room, making the most of space, light and storage.

Engaged Hausman on the refurbishment of our house which was stuck in a 1980s time warp, avocado bathroom suites and all. We had lots of ideas about what we wanted to do, but needed someone to distil them in to a coherent plan that could be submitted to builders for tender. As well as taking all our ideas and incorporating them in to a set of comprehensive drawings, David also made suggestions and discussed alternatives with us. One in particular was something we hadn’t even contemplated, which is now our favourite part of our “new” house. David got us our three quotes and because they were based on the drawings and tender document he produced, we were confident that there wasn’t going to be major drift in the price over the course of the project. As it was a refurbishment rather than a new build, inevitably a few unforeseen issues arose. When they did, I found David to be very responsive, coming up with solutions quickly which kept everything on track. Undertaking a refurbishment of your entire home is intense, but it was far less stressful than it could have been, because both David and the builder he recommended were great to deal with and were really committed to getting us the quality of finish we were looking for. We hired David on a recommendation from a friend who was immensely happy with a job David did for her a few years ago. From day one David was such a pleasure to deal with. He listened to all of our requirements which even at the time we were very confused about. He came back with numerous options but one plan in particular that encapsulated perfectly the space we wanted to create and that was it. Every step of the planning process he was extremely patient and helpful. When we couldn’t vision certain aspects he went above and beyond to show us exactly how things would look. So much so that we decided to continue on with David through the tender process! Throughout the build he checked in to ensure everything was to plan and was there to answer any questions we had any time. Our house is north-facing so extremely dark, dreary at the back and closed off. It’s now is open, airy and so so bright! David incorporated clever storage ideas and has a great attention to detail. We hired David to do our single story extension on our 3 bedroom house. Right from the start David provided over and above the standard service. He listened to our ideas and worked with us to come up with initial designs. Really understanding my style. Once we agreed on designs I brought on board a builder and David was keen to meet with him and go through the plan to ensure everyone was on board with the idea and plan. Final plans agreed and work started and David was hands on, he visited the site a number of times to check in that all was to plan. Working with. Holder and engineer. He was on hand to discuss any potential options that arose during the building. I was even able to ask him design ideas for finishing touches. He had great contacts for other suppliers and was only too happy to help get me quotes where needed or give advise on costs or budget.
The extension was finished on time and pretty much on budget. David was an absolute pleasure to work with. Nothing was ever to much trouble and importantly he listened to what I wanted. I asked David to advise how I might reconfigure my bathroom to make space for a shower, but without losing the integrity of the room. With what appeared to be the glance of an eye and a flick of his measuring tape, David came up with a solution and what resulted was no less than transformational. David designed a two story extension for our mid terrace home. He also redesigned the internal layout of the house.

We felt David was full of ideas and had no problem changing plans when required if our ideas changed. We could contact him at any time if we had any questions about the build, from door types to recommendations on where to get air vents.

As we needed planning permission he made sure that everything was done quickly which made everything very easy on us.

David provided plans for our kitchen extension and attic conversion in an Edwardian semi-detached house in Glasnevin. It took us a long time to make up our minds about certain features of the design and we tore up the plans completely at one stage and started again from scratch. David was very patient throughout the 18-month planning process.

It didn't end there. David helped us enormously through the tender stage, with selecting the builder and negotiations with the builder.

No detail was too small to be included and there were many many revisions.

He tracked the builder's progress throughout the job with regular visits to the site and especially through critical phases such as fitting the windows. He kept the builder on-track for us. He recommended good auxiliary contractors, painters, suppliers, etc

And finally his price was exceptionally reasonable. I have work colleagues who had similar projects done and their architects were twice as expensive and nowhere near as helpful and professional.

On the recommendation of a friend we hired David Manigo of Hausman Architectural Services to draw up plans for a very old house we had bought that needed a complete overhaul from floor to roof and everything in between!

David listened to what we wanted and needed and drew up plans that gave us exactly what we had hoped for and more. He stayed close to us and the builders throughout the whole build and the builders were also extremely complimentary of him. David worked on our house renovation from Jan-Jul 2016. We found him to be personable, accessible, opinionated (in a good way) and committed to delivering a project that works well and is beautiful.

During the design of our house, David worked through three iterations of drawings until he and we agreed a plan. David gained a good understanding of what we needed and incorporated our needs into the plans. David helped us to recruit a very good builder. During the build it was invaluable having David around to ensure building was being done in accordance with national safety standards but also to negotiate with the builder how certain work should be done e.g. David insisted on RSJs being recessed, had strong opinions on the height of the extension, and the positioning of a roof light to achieve maximum light and aesthetic appeal. David was a great help in telling us where to source materials in particular the door but also floors, the kitchen and bathroom furniture. He renovates houses all the time so if you know what you want, he can tell you where to get it.

David is really interested in producing beautiful work so he's a great person to have in your corner and is always a pleasure to deal with. We recommend highly. More...
