My experience with Alex Alonso and his team at Mr. Alex Tate was exceptional in every conceivable way. From the very first meeting, I felt both comfortable and confident entrusting them for a painstaking renovation of my Historic, Miami Beach "Mediterranean Art Deco" home. The scope of work was no easy task: a full renovation and restoration from “sidewalk to back fence”, down to the door hinges. The goal was to keep the vintage 1930’s charm of the home while modernizing the space to reflect my needs and personality. They proved to be the perfect partner and a team to execute this lofty goal. Their help was not limited just to design, but they also provided project management and worked alongside contractors to make things easier for me. Previously, I had only worked with designers for commercial projects and never for a home, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. What an incredible experience it was….The team came up with an amazing set of renderings that looked like actual photographs. I had some preconceived ideas of what I’d like the design to be, and they honored my vision while bringing me out of my element. Their designs were unique and absolutely beautiful. They did a great job of “reigning me in” and keeping me within my budget by laying out the budget room by room and creating a strategy for spending. They are masters at sourcing unique and custom pieces but also working with national retailers plus vintage and hard to find pieces. I’ll add that their knowledge of virtually anything to do with Design, Color, Furniture, Art, Appliances, Antiques, Books, and Landscape is Encyclopedic. In short, Mr. Alex Tate and team couldn’t have been a more professional, friendly, and fun group to work with. They were constantly on hand and available throughout the project. I got the feeling that they loved my home even more than me. They made my dream come true and gave me a true showplace that I’m proud to call my own. I doubt this will be my last home and I already know that I’ll work with them again. We recently purchased a home upon moving from LA to Miami. We had worked with designers before, but really didn’t know any in Miami. We have a 5 bedroom home (2,600 sq ft) and wanted to do it all. The home was from the 80s but had been “remodeled” in the early 2000s. We bought it because it had great bones and a great piece of land. The rooms were a great size and it great floorpan. I had an idea of what I wanted. My style tends to be more mixing old with new. I had some items I wanted to keep but was going to need more furniture. I was referred to mr alex TATE by a friend who had remodeled his condo the previous year. When I met the mr alex TATE team, they were great. They were super buttoned up, knowledgeable, very creative and had NO ego at all. They have an amazing aesthetic and really know how to source for products. Coming from LA, I had worked/met with designers who were either pushy, way too expensive or just a little too full of themselves. I know the mr alex TATE team does work in LA, but they have none of the attitude of some of the designers I had met while in LA. Alex is awesome. He runs a great studio. They aren’t the cheapest but found them well worth the money. They really helped me be smart about the design. They incorporated a lot of the items I wanted to keep and really did an AMAZING job designing a space that really reflects me and my family. I can’t recommend these guys enough. My wife and I had been wanting to redo our Master Bedroom for some time now. We’d never worked with a designer, but knew we didn’t have the time to do it ourselves. We’re pretty busy with work and kids and needed help imagining the space but also sourcing products that would be pieces we’d like to keep and a have a design that we’d live with for awhile. We were looking to upgrade everything in the room. We found mr alex TATE online and look at their instagram and really fell in love with their style. We met with the studio team and they were a really fun, young team. We hit it off immediately. Since we hadn’t worked with a designer before, we were a little intimidated, but I can tell you that these guys are so approachable and so great to work with, that after our project we still keep in touch. Their design and service was top-notch. We had gotten bids from other designers and found the mr alex TATE team to sit somewhere in the middle. They weren’t the most expensive, but they weren’t the cheapest either. They really guided us through the process and recommended items that were smart designs and that really made the room feel like us. We highly recommend these guys. I recently wanted to redo my kitchen. There are other parts of the house we’re going to tackle, but this was one of the most important rooms for us since we all gather there. The kitchen was going to be a full gut job. We had about $50K budget and it’s a decent sized kitchen (12’ x18’). We had thought to do it ourselves, but honestly didn’t have the time to do all the research or deal with all the coordination. A friend recommended mr alex TATE. I’d worked with contractors before but never a designer, so I was kinda familiar with the process, but wasn’t too sure what to expect. They were really great about designing the kitchen and finding the right cabinetry, hardware, lighting, etc. They guided me through the process of being smarter with the budget and helped me invest in the right items. I wanted something that felt modern and clean, but not cold and too Miami beach condo. I feel like everyone has the super shiny, glossy kitchens, but I didn’t want to feel like I was living in a dance club, but I still wanted it to feel modern. The mr alex TATE team had a great design approach and really helped me lock in the design. I’m so glad I worked with them. They really helped save time, money and lot of headaches.
