Andy was recommended to me from two work colleagues - athletic guys who were looking for a balance of treatment for lingering injury issues with a well thought-out fitness plan. Andy does both, and very well!His Neurokinetic Therapy helped alleviate the muscle pain in my legs (tight calves and hamstrings that led to pulled muscles during sports) and provided a number of unexpected benefits, including resolving jaw pain / TMJ and improving my posture. It's pretty cutting-edge thinking - not stuff you find at your local gym. And it's effective. This place is legit, and Andy knows his stuff! I've been to a sports physical therapist, a personal trainer and a podiatrist to assess ankle issues, knee issues and lower back tightness. I got some advice on stretching exercises to do and general strengthening exercises. But I didn't feel it helped much. I made an appointment with Andy because I liked his philosophy on health. I just wanted to move better and be less injury prone. Within one session, Andy was able to assess why my muscles were tight, why certain ones weren't activating and reset my body to function properly! He told me what I needed to do to maintain and how to perform resets at home. I walked away with knowledge and exercises and stretches that were effective. This is my new favorite fitness facility. I am thankful that I found Movement Reborn through another powerlifting athlete. Andy is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and it is apparent that he is passionate about helping people move without pain. He has flexible hours and creates a really welcoming environment for his clients. Andy is committed to growth in the industry and works with other professionals to learn about alternative pain methods. I worked with Andy for about 1.5 months to recover from my powerlifting injuries. He helped me with my imbalances and today I am slowly regaining my strength. I knew I had to get in touch with Andy when I saw that he focused on pain management. I’ve always ended up in pain whenever I’ve worked with a trainer in the past. After many years of dealing with lower back pain, tight hips and calves that limited my exercise routine, I reached out to Andy. I was convinced early on that his way of approaching movement and exercise were the right fit for me. My personal trainer at Equinox recommended Andy as I was having lower back issues that persisted for a long time, and Andy is well known even during his Equinox days among the personal trainers as the guy who knows his stuff around injury and rehabilitation. I happened to have a trip to San Diego planned and immediately scheduled a session with Andy. Andy performed a very thorough set of muscle testing to identify the particular issues with my lower back. In addition, he pinpointed some weakness at my left ankle that was causing movement issues. It was very obvious within the first ten minutes that Andy is someone who is very knowledgeable about muscle kinetics and movement and is very geniune in helping people out. Our session went so well that I booked two more during my stay in San Diego. Before I left, Andy designed a series of exercises for me to do before and after my workouts; they are simple yet very effective. Since then I have been doing those "Andy" exercises before my workouts 2-3 times a week, and as a result, my lower back pain has mostly gone. I also noticed improved mobility around my hips and sacrum. I have nothing but the best things to say about working with Andy. My only regret is that he lives so far that I cannot see him often! The gym is very clean and well equipped. I started with private lessons and moved into small group classes after 6 weeks. The small group classes have a max of 4 people and he has a personalized workout for me every time. Everyone I’ve met in the classes has been friendly and positive which makes it a fun environment!

I really appreciate the encouragement, knowledge and caring attitude he brings every time I workout at his gym!

As a 45 year-old man who used to play sports regularly, I have battled with injuries for about 25 years.  I have always been frustrated that the traditional way to treat injuries is to visit a PT who will deal with the specific symptoms and specific area of the injury.  I have long believed that we all do basic movements repeatedly which could be improved or corrected to address issues at their root. Just to capture the whole experience I have to share the meet and greet... Walking with my family while enjoying the La Jolla farmers market I was fortunate to meet Andy. I explained a old back injury that seemed to be re-aggravated while on recent plane ride. In a matter of minutes and some small short movements Andy was able to recommend some treatment that he would be able to do. Sort of in disbelief of any success as I have seen numerous Doctors and Chiropractors, I didn't expect any help from a guy at a farmers market. With in minutes of his treatment I felt lots of relief from the pain and discomfort that I had become used to. My wife sat in disbelief as I was able to bend at the waist and touch my toes with no hesitation. He worked on some muscles in my back that were over worked and fatigued causing spasms. The difference this 10 dollar first time treatment made earned this 5 star review and follow up appointments while I am here on travel. More...

I've been having bad pain in my lower back for about 10 months. A lifetime of repetitive-motion type sports and bad posture is really catching up to me. I've tried everything I could, massage therapy, yoga, online mobility workshops. Doctor would just say, "Lay off it and let it heal" . When it comes to understanding the body, what works, what doesn't work, why we feel the way we do physically, and what it'll take to get things "right" again, Andy is literally the best, he's an expert! The amount of knowledge he has is incredible; he's able to accurately explain everything to me and helps to make me feel comfortable with what he asks of me, motivated to do what is needed, and excited to go to the gym again! I've had many many injuries in my past and as a result, have experienced a lot of pain and poor movements. My posture used to be terrible, I hated going to the gym, and I thought that pushing through the pain was required to get results. Well i was pleasantly surprised to learn I was wrong about the pushing through pain part. Whenever I would work out un-assisted, I dreaded it because of the discomfort I experienced during and after the workout. And that's because my body wasn't ready to do some of the things i was trying and my form was poor.Andy's ability to explain things to me so that they made sense is what won me over initially as well as understanding his training and experience; the guy has dedicated his life to this work and his passion shines through in every way! When we started working out, he met me where I was at instead of having me jump into a crazy series of workouts. Starting with the fundamentals and growing from there, my results have been insane. Not just the measurable ones, the biggest result is how i feel. My body movements have never been better, I feel more confident, feel more healthy, and am loving life more and more as a result of it. I have always had a hard time gaining mass, and since working with Andy 4 short months ago, I have gained over 15 lbs of muscle whilst losing body fat %. We train together in Small groups up to 4 people per group. Everyone has their own workout based on their goals.
Similar to Personal Training but we just work as a team and progress together.

We sit down and have an in-depth discussion about all your goals, struggles, injuries, nutrition. Then do some assessments that help us figure out what the best approach will be for you. You'll walk out with more information than you thought you'd get, guaranteed.
