When I say my day would not have been possible without Lauren, I'm not kidding! She took on the pressure or multiple vendors to be sure my (now) husband and I were taken care of and understood everything going on. In the weeks leading up, she took numerous phone calls and continuously checked in. She was worried about US and OUR experience as a couple, making sure that she went above and beyond to give us the best day possibly, even further than the food.

The staff at Mountain Laurel is unparalleled. I work for a small business and value customer service over anything - these people BLEW my mind! Exceeded every expectation. From a delicious, laid back & intimate tasting, to plating our appetizers for us to enjoy when we got to our table (since cocktail hour is hectic), to touching base with other vendors to ensure everything went smoothly - they didn't miss any details.

I had a few bad experiences as I planned my wedding but I cannot sing high enough praises to this entire staff. We were frequently checked on to make sure we didn't need anything, we were "catered" to like we mattered more than anything that night, and our guests could not stop talking about how DELICIOUS the food was!

Even if you're skeptical, give them a shot. Lauren was truly an asset to our wedding and every single staff member we interacted with was exceptional. I will never stop telling people how fantastic they are!! If you're looking for delicious food and people who actually CARE, look no further. you've found it at Mountain Laurel

Our wedding was made possible by many of our family and friends coming together with their creativity and small business to help us create a magical day. Mountain Laurel fit in so well with our crew. Mountain Laurel worked great with our DIY and budget friendly wedding, their menu made us feel like a million bucks and we would highly recommend them to couples looking for family style custom event with a creative menu full of love and soul. Our fall wedding included seasonal veggies and entrees that tasted like an awesome meal made from scratch. The appetizers were so very special and the combination of ingredients made for deliciousness that surprised with every bite. Most excellent! Our family and friends will be talking about the food for a long time. The food melted in their mouths and enhanced the theme of family, fellowship and love. Food is a big expression of love, all the time and care that goes into the making of it. Also, your servers were exceptional. They were polite and so very helpful. Lauren and the Mountain Laurel team have been amazing so far! We haven't had our wedding yet, but Lauren has been so helpful and kind. Our planning situation has been a little different because we are waiting on a Fiancé Visa, but Lauren took it all in stride and has been super patient. She even emailed me a few days before the interview to send me best wishes and to let me know that they are pulling for me! I would highly recommend this team based on professionalism and quality service. We have yet to try the food on our wedding day, but I'm sure it will be fantastic! More...

Lauren and the whole crew at Mountain Laurel were absolutely fantastic from the start of our planning and even after the wedding! One of the priorities for both of us was great-tasting food with a kind of unique spin (my wife is Indian, I am American) for an Indian-American fusion. After explaining what we were looking for, Lauren came back with a menu that was just what we were looking for, and backed it up with an amazing personalized tasting. The team was super open and responsive to the couple changes we wanted to make as well.

On the day of the wedding the food and service provided by MLC was spot-on. Very professional, everything on-time, and as expected the food was just great (and got many compliments from our guests). Lauren really went above and beyond and helped with non-food related stuff at the end of the night as well. Overall, MLC helped make our day all the more wonderful and special. We could not have asked for a better catering company or a better catering director!

If you want unique, delicious tasting food that will impress not only your guests but even your other vendors then you NEED to book with Mountain Laurel. I've been to quite a few weddings and most wedding food I've tasted has been fairly bland & run of the mill, but Mountain Laurel is an entirely different experience. My sister-in-law and her husband used Mountain Laurel for their wedding and the minute we tasted the food we were blown away and knew we had to book with them. We met with Chef Pat & Sarah the day of our tasting and their cute little kitchen was all set up for the tasting. We mentioned to Chef Pat that we both loved the renaissance faire and wanted to do a modern spin on a medieval feast. Chef Pat though of such creative ideas to incorporate our theme into modern dishes that people would actually want to eat. The day of the wedding both them and their staff were extremely pleasant, accommodating, & gave us that "don't you worry about a thing we will take care of it" attitude. Not only did they do an amazing job all around but they even gave us a sweet card & champagne gift. Even our wedding photographer (who obviously has been to countless weddings) told us that it was EXCEPTIONAL wedding food and that she hasn't come across food of that quality at weddings ever before!! We were just married this past weekend at a farm in Gettysburg, PA, and we were lucky enough to have Sara and Patrick cater the event. I have to say we were impressed with their professionalism, their attentiveness, their flexibility, and their kindness, every step of the way. They are a newer business, and in the very beginning my husband and I were initially inclined to go with one of the larger catering companies in the area, mostly bc we erroneously thought that experience equated to service quality. In relaying this to Sarah, she went out of her way to seek input and feedback on how she might have more effectively sold us on their services... and in the end I was so impressed by her sincerity, her earnest attitude and desire to provide exactly what we were looking for, that we ended up deciding to choose mountain laurel for the wedding. I am SOO grateful we made this decision. They worked with us every inch of the way until we were 100% happy with the menu, taking feedback and suggestions graciously and enthusiastically. Sarah went out of her way to help take on responsibilities that weren't hers, and they arranged a tasting a day after they returned from their own vacation just because it was convenient for our schedule... and they still managed to create a delicious representation of the dinner they were planning for the wedding. Perhaps what was most meaningful to me, was that in the middle of planning this wedding, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Initially we were worried we would have to move the wedding date up, and we weren't sure how to arrange this with the vendors. As soon as I told Sarah what was going on, she immediately offered to rearrange their schedule to accommodate us if we needed it, and she was empathic and kind, thoughtful and wonderful throughout. Luckily we didnt have to change a thing, and the wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more. This whole review doesnt even mention how delicious the food was- my husband and I love to cook and eat, and are fairly discerning in what we enjoy- the food managed to be both sophisticated and simple, it was well seasoned with complex flavors and it was also beautiful- these are not easy feats for a catered meal for >100 people. Both Sarah and Patrick are wonderful people and I cannot say enough good things about them- I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. I first had Mountain Laurel's food a my son's wedding. From that experience, I knew I would be using them in the future. The selection of appetizers and dishes presented for the meal were all delicious, and beautifully presented. My family swooned over their smoked brisket, so I decided to order one as a treat for a family party that I had today. Honestly, I think they came for the brisket, not to see me.

The meat has the perfect balance of smoke and seasoning. It has a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the flavor is simply out of this world. This was the first of what is likely to be many briskets that I will order in the future.

I cannot finish the review without saying that their prices are very reasonable and that they are true professionals. I would suggest you consider them for your next event...or just order a brisket for you and your friends to enjoy one evening this summer. I am confident you will be happy you did.

We chose to go with Mountain Laurel to cater our wedding out of recommendation from our venue, the fact that we liked their concept of local and freshly prepared food and because the tasting was impressive and wonderful, so we booked them despite the fact that we had to rent glassware and linens (which they do not provide), hire bar tenders and a cleanup crew (which were closer within our budget than what Mountain Laurel offered), and also arrange for someone to place our linens on each table without an additional cost. The menu that was put together for us was exactly what we wanted and we loved the unique aspects of many of the menu items. Mountain Laurel was professional, flexible and kept contact with us, answering all of our emails (every email literally went into my spam folder, so once I noticed that, I made sure to check that folder). Our wedding dinner was served family style and they were spot on with delivering the meals to those with dietary restrictions. At our reception and afterwards, we heard from guests that the food was good and the best food they have had at a wedding. We also enjoyed the food, but the brisket we had was pretty fatty and really not as good or flavorful as it was at the tasting (and what I have had in the past). The only odd thing was that when we were in the process of booking a caterer, Sarah and Chef Pat initially told us they would be on vacation on our wedding date but that they had confidence their staff would be able to handle it. Later, they had told us via email and also verbally at our tasting, that they rescheduled their vacation and they would indeed be present for our wedding (also assuming because a wedding show was the day after our wedding so they could participate). To be honest, the fact that Chef Pat and Sarah would be present to cater at our reception was one of the many aspects that helped make our decision to book them. On the day of our wedding, Sarah and Chef Pat were not there, which I understand, things come up, things happen, but we were under the impression that they would be there and we were never notified nor given a quick heads-up that they wouldn’t be. Just thought that was a little strange. They did give us a card (along with glasses and a bottle of prosecco - thank you, by the way!) that we read when we came home from our honeymoon saying they were sorry they couldn’t be at our wedding. Regardless, we had a lovely, beautiful day and we thank Mountain Laurel for being a part of it. More...

Mountain Laurel helped us create the perfect menu based on our favorite foods.
Appetizers:
• Beautiful meat and cheese board w/ cured meats, cheeses, olives, prosciutto stuffed peppers, etc.
• Bacon wrapped scallops with a cherry glaze
• Caprese skewers
• Fresh fruit skewers with a chocolate dipping sauce
Main courses:
• Mahi Mahi topped with crab and a margarita sauce
• Prime rib with a horseradish cream sauce
Sides
• Candied Fingerling potatoes
• Asparagus

Everything was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and a very generous portion. Hands down the best piece of beef I have ever eaten, and I eat a lot of red meat. The Mahi Mahi was also cooked to perfection. The meat and cheese spread was one of the best I have ever seen. I think the food was the highlight of the entire day. We have received so many compliments from our guest saying, not only is it the best wedding food, but best food they have ever eaten. Personally I wish they had a restaurant, so I could enjoy their food on a regular basis.
Additionally, the serving and bartending staff was amazing, friendly, and took care of everything in a prompt professional manner. They ever ran and got more soda when the bar was running low.
The bakery that delivered the cake delivered it super early for an outdoor wedding. Pat was on top of it. They monitored the cake and when the decision was made to take off the top two layers they did that with perfection. They were just as upset as we were. They even called the bakery because they were worried that the amount of cake that was left would not feed our guest. Somehow they managed to make it feed all the guests. Then when the wedding was over they went above and beyond and arranged for the bakery to make as an anniversary tier for us because ours was not salvageable.
Considering everything we got the price was very reasonable as well. Should I ever need anything catered again Mountain Laurel would absolutely be my first choice.

After we had picked the perfect menu, they went out of their way to be sure that everything was perfect for our wedding day! I did not worry about whether cocktail hour would be ready as soon as our ceremony ended nor did I worry that the tables would be set just as I had imagined them. They even met our baker to ensure the cake delivery went off without a hitch! Honestly, the sweetest thing they did though was to create a plate of hors d'oeuvres especially for me and my husband when we came into the reception - it was such a welcome gesture since we had spent the first few hours of our wedding bouncing around from saying vows to taking pictures to welcoming guests! They know their stuff! I would recommend them for any occasion! More...

Being co-owner of A-1 Party Rent-All I've had multiple chances to work with Sarah and I have to say, she is a real sweetheart. I haven't personally used this company but, I would highly recommend them, from all the positive feedback I get back, from the customers I recommend Mountain Laurel Catering Events to. What I hear from past customers, is that the staff are super nice, which I know first hand, very accommodating, punctual and best of all, affordable. So check them out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!!!!! More...

Sarah & Pat are incredible! They catered our 175 person wedding with delicious food & professional catering staff. Our guests were raving about the smoked salmon & beef brisket days later. My husband and I have been to over 30 weddings and we've never heard so many compliments about wedding food!! It was important to us to use local and sustainable ingredients, and they were able to do so at a cost comparable to another catering company nearby. Sarah provided day-of wedding coordination (for a small extra fee) and helped to ensure we thought through every detail to prepare for our special day. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect & much of it was thanks to Mountain Laurel! Thank you!! More...

I work in the wedding industry, and when it came time for me to pick a caterer for a surprise birthday party I was hosting, I knew it had to be Mountain Laurel. Sarah + Pat and their team are the nicest people you could ever work with, and their food is phenomenal. Even the pickiest eaters at the party raved about the food. Sarah + Pat always go above and beyond for their clients, and I am so happy I had the chance to support such a great local business. If you are looking for fantastic food, amazing service, and for a wonderful experience, contact Mountain Laurel Catering! They are worth every penny! More...

Mountain Laurel Catering was apart of our “dream team” of vendors for our July 2017 wedding. I say that because they were truly AMAZING! Sarah and Chef Pat put their heart and soul into their business and clients. Sarah was so wonderful to work with, was responsive, extremely supportive and helpful throughout the planning process. They helped us create a delicious menu for our cocktail hour and reception that was “fresh”, seasonal and budget friendly! My husband and I attended 30 weddings together prior to our own and the food was never typically a topic of conversation (just another wedding meal). Our guests RAVED about our food. Chef Pat made the most delicious dinner for our reception; we actually had guests looking for the kitchen in order to compliment him on a job well done! I can honestly say, the salmon he prepared for us was better than some I’ve had right off of the shore. On top of the food, they had a wonderful crew of staff members and bartenders who made it their priority to take care of our guests the entire evening (and all were SO friendly)! Chef Pat is amazing at what he does and prepared for our wedding one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Sarah is one of the hardest working women I’ve ever met and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our day as special as it was. Mountain Laurel Catering is a must for your wedding day and I promise you will not regret it! THANK YOU SARAH AND PAT! More...
