We just had a great family weekend at Sunapee! The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Bob by private lessons was awesome as well as the two instructors that my 5 year old had. The chairlift attendants were great too! A perfect mountain to learn on and they have an incredible adaptive program, awesome to see! Thank you! More...

Despite the rainy forecast, we went for it yesterday. The staff was great. We forgot one set of poles, and the rental shop gladly lent us poles at no charge for the day. Santa was at the summit lift drop off making cute snowmen. We were able to rip lots of runs since the forecast kept most home. Prices for food was reasonable. Two thumbs up Sunapee. I don’t even know where to start! Amber and I chose the Mount Sunapee Resort as our wedding ceremony and reception location and couldn’t be any happier. From the time we first started working with Laura, the event coordinator, she was helpful, knowledgeable and overall amazing, and kept all of the many details straight. Whether it was the rehearsal, the set up of all of our decorations that we dropped off or making sure that we had anything and everything on our wedding day, she went above and beyond our greatest expectations. The most important thing is that there was literally NOTHING that didn’t go how we had planned it to. There was also Mike who was in charge of making sure we ate that day which was something we had never expected to have. From the time we got off of the chairlift after the ceremony and were quietly brought into the building to get ready for our introduction, he was right there with a platter full of food from cocktail hour and was taking our drink order. The entire night went so perfect that it feels like it was a dream, but we are both so happy that we chose the Mount Sunapee Resort. We couldn’t be more thankful that we had Laura, Mike and all of the other extremely helpful and competent staff there to keep everything running smoothly. I can’t tell you how many of our guests came up to us during and after to tell us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Whether it was how beautiful everything was and how they loved the way we transitioned from the first floor to the second floor and back down, how good the food was or how efficiently everything was done. They loved it also and I would recommend the Mount Sunapee Resort to anyone who is looking for an amazing place to have their wedding. More...

I just attended my son's wedding at the Mt. Sunapee lodge five days ago, just about everything was perfect, the Staff was exceptionally attentive and very friendly. It's a good thing that there's an elevator as the dinner is served on the 2nd level, then the bar & dance floor are on the 1st level and the restrooms are located in the basement level. The only complaint I heard from the guest was the place should be air conditioned, especially on the 2nd floor and also the 1st floor where the dancing took place (maybe the Resort can consider AC for future summer bookings, and or ceiling fans also) however, overall it was really nice with a cool breeze out on the terrace. The Bride and Groom left very happy. Thank you More...

Outstanding day today at Mount Sunapee Resort! We arrived at opening time and went inside to get our tickets. An extremely friendly, helpful customer service attendant Debbie F waited on us. She was so nice! Then we went out and skied until 4pm ( love daylight savings time) The snow was nicely groomed and the trails were long and scenic. The lift attendants were friendly, too. At lunch we had turkey chili. I also liked the wide variety of teas available. This was our first time skiing here together as a family. Loved our ski experience that we had today!! More...

This was my very first time down hill skiing on the east coast! I was injured halfway through the day and ski patrol was simply AMAZING. Their customer service was impeccable!! Less than 5 minutes after I was injured, ski patrol showed up with their toboggan to take me down to the infirmary. They were very gentle and patient throughout the whole process and made me feel very comfortable. At the first aid zone, the EMT was incredibly gentle and helpful. He made me a DIY splint for my knee and even gave me crutches to take home with me.The food at the top of the lodge was also very affordable! Most things were less than 10$ and I loved the unlimited condiments they provided for hot dogs and cheeseburgers. I was not used to the terrain because it is quite a bit icier and flatter than the west coast. However my local friend said that Sunapee grooms really well which was nice. The only con I would say is that the map is a bit confusing and we got lost on the trails for a bit. Otherwise great experience and worth coming back! More...

Great family friendly mountain. Tuesday is ladies day and it makes it significantly cheaper for my girls to go to daycare there and learn to ski! The daycare woman Jean and Kim treat the girls like they are their own. They are absolutely wonderful with the girls! I feel so great knowing my girls are in great hands and having a blast at the same time. Both Jean and Kim go out of the way to make the girls happy and help me out. If no one else is there they even take them out to play. The ski school is great and very accommodating. Since Tuesdays are quiet and we have had some 5 degree days they have moved her appointment to The afternoon so it would be warmer. We have Jude for an instructor and she is very encouraging and supportive with my daughter. As a mountain to ski/ride on I feel like it has alot to offer for being close to Boston and being a small mountain. I mean it even has a good amount of glades. As an advanced snowboarder my only complaint would be steeper and longer trails but they can't change that. More...

One of the best places I've ever skied! Huge mountain with lots of runs, fun trails, and a variety of lifts. We had amazing ski conditions and enjoyed the lodges as well. I rented skis and was able to keep them for the entirety of our trip back at our hotel. It was very convenient not to have to go drop off and pick up new rentals each day. The computerized system was fairly easy to use. Ski-wise we noticed a big difference in lineups when the main express wasn't lift open. However we were able to ski up and down the back of the mountain which was even more fun than expected. I loved that people of different levels could ski a similar course, but veer off for a while and end up in the same lift line. Our friends' daughter had a great experience at ski school and got a daily report card of her achievements. The lodge had pretty good food. The first day we ate at the top of the mountain and I had chili in a bread bowl. The next day we are in the main lodge at the bottom of the hill and I had bites of a make your own burrito, a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. There lots more of a selection compared to the mountain top place. They had pizza, prepackaged goods, as well as a full kitchen made to serve burgers, fries, chicken fingers, etc. Another skier we met said there were warm alcohol adult beverages as well but we didn't get that far. The ski shop was fun to check out with lots of gear, goggles, outfits, cute hats and socks, as well as hand and feet warmers for $2.50. We had a great experience- glad our friends' epic passes pointed us this way. We would definitely ski/snowboard here again in the future. The drive back to NYC was fun as went got to stop in Vermont and Massachusetts. More...

I am a very advanced skier and I have skied every worthwhile mountain in New England ... Sunapee is still my favorite overall. Whiteface would be the only one that would beat it, but it is an additional 3 hr drive for me...I grew up learning to ski here so I may be a little biased haha... however my family no longer has their ski house in New London NH and I still come to sunapee several times a year. I drive up from Boston now, and It is without a doubt the best mountain within reasonable driving distance to the city. (1hr 45min) I am currently sitting at the bar, drinking a fantastic bloody Mary from the bartender Rick, while my skis are getting tuned up downstairs for less than half the price I would have paid in my home town. It is a Wednesday, so I only paid $47 bucks to ski today! I can not reccomend this mountain enough.. I have made a habit of dropping my GF off at work and coming up for a good 4 1/2 - 5hr day on the slopes before heading back to Mass to pick her up after work. I dont reccomend this mountain on really busy holiday weekends because the further north you can push the lighter the crowds... but any other time of the season (especially non holiday Wednesdays) I strongly recommend you give Sunapee a try. Very family friendly, but also has more than enough challenging trails and glades for the savages out there... I really dont post reviews often, I am just a long time customer that truly appreciates what a gem this mountain is :) ...P.S. supposedly Vail has recently purchased the lease for this Mountain and plans to do a massive expansion on the backside of the mountain. I dont know if that is true, but if it is then this mountain is only going to get better and better. Sunapee already has the best snow conditions in the north east year in and year out... More...

Much better than Smuggler's Notch Vermont (my other point of reference for New England skiing)Sunpaee has a better combination of blue + black runs, faster chair lifts (proper high-speed chairs, not the old single-wire models), a very efficient rental service, and good chalets at the top + bottom. They also do a better job of getting good snow cover on their runs than Notch, since they have more snow-making machines.Downsides: wifi very spotty in said chalets, no cell signal at base of mountain for T-mobile, weather was rainy the second day we were there (not their fault, but since it was the middle of Feb I assume this is a non-trivial concern if you're planning a trip a week+ in advance), and one of the minor chairs was having mechanical problems the first day we were there. Fantastic mountain. We were on a school trip yester with my university. They recently introduced an RFID lift ticket system. It is SOO COOL. You simply put it in a pocket, walk up to the gate before the lift, and boom it opens and you wobble ur way up to the chairs. It's like a toll booth but for humans.Fantastic system. Long are the days of 19 year olds randomly stopping you to make sure you have a full day ticket. This mountain has 66 trails. All very very nice. I went on a Saturday and it was packed, but yet there was enough room snowboard down the mountain and not bash into a family. My ONLY COMPLAINT is for the folks at RENTALS. You guys are the first ones interacting with customers. Smile, and be friendly! It's your freaking job. I literally had a small question and this austrailian/british girl was like "go somewhere else, we're busy right now". Really? Where am I supposed to go, it's my first time here, luckily another girl was able to help me out. Food price vs quality, was expected. I mean, can't really complain. They had many different options. Expect to pay 10+ if you're getting food and drink. If you're getting a burger (7.25; 7.75 w/ cheese), fries (small 3.75), and drink (2.25 small, 2.75 large... NO REFILLS though. Just bring your own drinks), It'll run about 15 dollars. Tenders and Fries cost 6.75 for small and 9.75 for large. They have a condiment and toppings station where you can add whatever you want on it. side note: There was a family that brought their own grills and all that, and tailgated right there by the parking/slopes. They were smart. Overall, great mountain. Waffle shop at the summit was great. The lines at the lifts were long, but they did a FANTASTIC job of keeping people moving. Everything was efficient, except for that girl at rentals... More...

Hadn't been snowboarding in a while, but this was a great mountain to start back into. The elevation was moderate, maybe a 10 minute ride from top to bottom, and there were a good number of average level routes available. The conditions at the time were quite nice, having snowed several inches the day before. I would highly recommend skiing or snowboarding toward the edges of the trails, because less people traverse those areas, leaving more undisturbed snow for you to shred! The lifts are all a little slow, so be prepared to hang out for a while on your way up. There are multiple lodges on the premises and each is great for any rest or food needs.
