Motte is just awesome. Working with Abed (the owner) is a dream -- he has excellent design sense, he is a pleasure to work with, he always comes through, he stays on time and on budget. He knows how to give valuable advice and also how to take himself out of the equation, in just the right ratio. We gutted out and it took about 7 weeks from demolition to being able to cook again. I used Motte for a kitchen renovation project. I had a small kitchen and needed a kitchen designer who could maximize the space. I worked with Abed who designed the new layout, exactly what I was looking for. Motte's Fitters (Said and crew)was terrific, the work was done on schedule and looks great. The whole process went smoothly, even when we had design modifications to accommodate for a couple of unanticipated conduit relocations. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the reaction on peoples faces as we go through the process of selecting materials, final designs and the grand finale, taking a step back and taking a moment to look at the completed works.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Carpentry has always been part of the family with the furniture design and layout often discussed.
Ever since I was young I would visit friends and families homes and feel like a curious cat observing the space around me (sometimes had nothing better to do) and there was something about the kitchen and bedroom which was where all the best conversations took place.
As time went on it became my turn to design my home but I felt a disconnect from the retailers and lack of choice and flexibility. This was the moment when we decided to open Motte, a family run business, that aims to put the customer first by providing quality service, materials and flexibility.
