My family arrived in the UK 18 months ago and our plan was to get onto the property ladder as quickly as possible having sold up to move. We spent days investigating, becoming increasingly despondent as it became apparent our Ancestral Visa status came with unexpected hurdles. We were told no many times that it began to impact on our ability to look forward to our life in England. As we were about to throw in the towel and work on accepting that we would become long term renters, entered Chris Hall. Chris is a miracle worker. My husband and I were a tough case - Ancestry visa’s, short UK residency, 60+ and complex situation. From the beginning Chris said he could get us a mortgage and he did. We faced many obstacles and it took a long time. He admitted himself we were one of the most difficult cases he has handled but Chris never gave up. He knows the market like the back of his hand. He is very clear in his communication and spends a long time getting all your information before he begins and he also spends a long time explaining his plan of action and what to expect. He also makes himself available to you almost 24/7 which helped me a few times when I got cold feet and he led me through the maze of the UK mortgage market. It took more than three months and we had one very time consuming detour but in the end it all fell into place in just a few days and he got us a fantastic mortgage at incredible rates and good features. I couldn’t thank Chris enough for what he done for us. It was a light in the end of the tunnel. In a 3 weeks timeline he checked all the options available for us and when we applied for the mortgage we had an offer accepted within 2 weeks. After speaking with several mortgage advisers I was ready to give up on buying a property but my brother in law suggested I speak with Chris before actually giving up. From what I can tell Chris actually scoured the market looking for a lender who would take me on with my circumstances. One is loath to praise an organisation too highly in case you are accused of hyperbole. In this case though it is genuine.
A truly first rate 'customer experience' from start to finish.
My situation was a complex one. Being retired, thinking my days of paying mortgages were long gone I found I needed to help my granddaughter as I could not bear to think of how much money she was paying in rent each month. In addition I am not often to be found in the UK.
Chris was great from the start. He is very clear in what information he needs from you, he is not mealy mouthed. He is brutally honest, although he does wear velvet gloves!! I really appreciate that as I like to know where I stand and what options are open to me.
Chris really does tick all the boxes, clearly he has a deep knowledge of the mortgage market and he does his research on how your individual circumstances affect your chances. I was very impressed with his thoroughness. I doubt he left any stone unturned. A first rate job.
I was presented with a range options and recommendations with reasons for and against. Just what you want! On top of that he is a nice bloke too, easy to do business with.
I also used the solicitor he recommended as my usual one had long since retired. No complaints there, brusque and efficient. Got the job done.
The result of Chris' hard work is one very happy; and richer; grandaughter and as a conseqence I am one very happy grandad. Apparently I have lots of 'cool points' now.
I would certainly use you again if I ever needed a mortgage and, I certainly have no hesitation in recommending your services to all and sundry .

Truly 5 star service from start to finish. Thoroughly professional, I cannot recommend Chris more highly. One of the very few times I have not resented giving money to a financial advisor! My situation was not a simple one. In my sixties, I thought my days of paying off a mortgage ended many years ago. But then I found out how much my granddaughter pays in rent and felt I should step in. I don’t live in the UK and most of the modest wealth I do possess is tied up. My granddaughter has just left university and has no savings only debts but she does have a job. My hopes were not that high when I contacted Chris.I liked Chris because he is thorough and honest and straightforward. There is no “BS”, he tells you things straight, even if it is not what you want to hear. He clearly thinks very strategically and has a huge knowledge of the mortgage market and the various lenders. He was very good in explaining the areas of applying for a mortgage that attracted a cost and so you knew what you were paying for and why. it made the whole thing very transparent and inspired trust.I enjoyed the experience in many ways as it was an education. I liked the fact that I was kept informed at each stage of the process. I liked that options were given along with recommendations; nothing was presented as a fait accompli. It certainly felt like I was in control of each stage. It appeared as if there was no stone unturned and in the end I was delighted, not to say amazed, that he found a small choice of lenders for me. I went with his recommendation and have no regrets. it is a good deal. My trusty solicitor; the inestimable Mrs Rutherford; who had handled all the various house purchases and sales I made over my lifetime had retired and living overseas most of the time I was fairly clueless as to whom to use for the conveyancing. The solicitor he recommended was a good replacement for Mrs R, very competent and efficient. Now that everything is sorted I have one very happy, and less poor, granddaughter and as a consequence I am immensely happy. Thank you Chris for making it so. After finding Chris on line, I found he was a wealth of knowledge having specialist advice on acquiring this type of mortgage. After speaking to a couple of advisors I didn't get very far as I am a New Zealander on an ancestry visa. They said they would be able to help me out but none was forthcoming. What inspired you to start your own business?
I get to decide how long I spend helping clients. I do not like to offer a rushed service.
I have my Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice, Mortgage Advice Qualification and the full Financial Planning Certificates (3 parts) which made me more than qualified.
