Great place, very clean, nice patio space should you want to eat outside, lots of inside space as well. If you're looking for some loving when they cook your meal, this is the place. Its not to big and not to small. This establishment is not a franchise, or at least does not feel like so, it doesn't have  that cookie cutter feel franchise usually has. It seems they do things their way. All the people that tended to our needs were extremely friendly. Then their is the food, which does not disappoint. Oh my gosh I don't know how I didn't discover this place before.  Its actually across the street from the vet's office that my precious pup goes too.  Tuesday's special was fried chicken on the day I was there, and I am sort of fried chicken snob.  This place didn't let me down the pieces were generous, chicken wasn't dry.  The breading could have used a tad bit more pepper for my liking but was super good.  Also the sides were delish!!!  The baked beans might have been the best I've had, just a great flavor, and also the mac-n-cheese with the baked topping with breadcrumbs....yum!!!  There's seating at the bar, and also plenty of tables to sit at.  I will most certainly be back here! I so love this place. The burnt ends are so good. I like the cornbread however it is served at room temperature. If it was served hot out of the oven, trust me, yousr tastebuds would rejoice. Picked up take-out for dinner.  The food was a mixed bag...a solid 3-stars.  But, we bumped the overall score up to 4 stars because the staff were very attentive and helpful. When we arrived, the place was crowded.  A large raucous group was enjoying happy hour around the bar, and a big crowd of families were enjoying dinner in the dining area.We were quickly greeted by two young staff members at the reception desk; both were cordial and attentive.  As we worked through our order, they were knowledgeable about the menu and patient with our questions.  They were also quick to seek help when they couldn't answer a question on their own.While we waited for our order, we grabbed a beer at the bar.  Despite the crowd, the bartender wasted no time acknowledging us and working our order in with the others she was making.  Once we had our drinks, we scooted away from the crowd to a stand-up table at the side of the room...and enjoyed a few minutes of people watching.  After a surprisingly short time, our order came out and we were headed home.As we settled into our meals, we found the food to be a mix of solid, average, and disappointing.  We ordered the Pitmaster Sampler, an additional 1/2 lb of pork, fries, onion rings, bbq beans, and mac and cheese.  We also brought home three different bbq sauces...mild, spicy, and sweet.  The Pitmaster was a nice selection of most of the meat options available on the menu...a great way to get a really good sense of the place's bbq.  It included ribs, brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and sausage.  That said, the ribs were well smoked and nicely seasoned.  They could have been a bit more tender, but on the whole, were a solid choice.  The sausage had a nice flavor and texture, but we had trouble finding any smoke in the flavor at all, which made it seem like it could have just as easily been cooked over a generic grill.  Again though, the sausage had a nice flavor and texture.  The pulled pork and chicken were just ok.  The chicken had a hint of smoke, but it was hard to find any in the pork.  And, on the whole, neither meat felt like anything special.  The burnt ends and brisket were the low point in the meal.  The brisket had only a mild smokiness, was dry, and a bit tough...just not very good bbq'd brisket.  The burnt ends... were poorly named.  The portion we were served was moderately flavorful, but seemed more like 1 inch cubes of cooked stew meat rather than dark crusty burnt tips/ends of brisket that spent hours over smoke.  For the sides...the beans had a nice flavor, the mac and cheese was decent, and the fries and onion rings were both great.  Rounding out the meal, we enjoyed all three bbq sauces.On the whole, it was definitely a positive experience.  While we didn't love all the food, there was enough we liked to bring us back.  And, with good service, we can overlook average food. Best burgers in the area. Great staff, good location, and a place with a lot of style, but especially.... GREAT FOOD!!! I swear every type of meat is really good, and they have a large menu. Also desserts are delicious. There are the right prices.Like many people, I’m a usual client of this bbq, and I go there often.The only thing they should improve is creating bunus meals after adding point each time you go there. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with delectable barbecue. Casual bar with sports playing on TV, comfortable dining room seating and nice outdoor dining (check in inside with the hosts first, so that they know you are outside). Go!

An amazing bit of bbq in Virginia. The staff is warm and welcoming. The brisket is firm but tender. The pulled pork carries its smokey flavor. The ribs have the right amount of char kissing their edges. The sausage has a wonderful taste. And the burnt ends practically melt in your mouth. The cherry pie for dessert (seasonal, so you might get something else) was very full of berries and tender crust. The cookie my daughter had was drizzled in chocolate and topped with ice cream. Some of the best barbecue we've had in the DMV. Nice, clean restaurant with bbq classics as well as some creative twists (bbq nachos, salad topped with pulled pork and brister, etc).
