Great spot for Thai food. The menu offers a very large selection of entrees. I would have rated this place a full 5 stars but the Moo Dang fried rice and the Pad See Ew was slightly on the salty side. Don't get me wrong, both items were still pretty good. The Pad Thai and Papaya Salad were both excellent choices. Overall, the service was very good; staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious. And surprisingly, the craft beer selection was great! I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for good authentic Thai cuisine. More...
The Moo Dang Soup was amazing! Get it with the pork wontons. The Thai Tea was great (some might find it too sweet) and the thai tea ice cream is soo good. Friendly staff, though they seemed a little understaffed but nbd More...
First off, CLAIM THE FREE FISH BALLS! Probably the best free dish I've ever gotten from checking in. The fish balls have a crunchy delicious exterior and soft inside. We also had the drunken noodles with crab which was really delicious. The Moo Dang soup was okay, but I'm not too sure how authentic it was.Good place to recover from a hangover! More...
Get the roasted red pork!! I repeat, get the roasted red pork on whatever you order. Drunken Noodles is my go to so I ordered the roasted red pork as my meat. My boyfriend got the roasted red pork entree. Both were delicious! Another friend at our table ordered pork on a noodle entree but didn't say "roasted red pork" and so he received a different style of pork. We also got the free fried fish balls with yelp check in. I think people at our table were initially hesitant, but everyone tried one and wanted more. I would warn others that their spice scale is spicier than other Thai restaurants I've had. Our waitress very kindly led us to lower spice numbers as we ordered. I normally order medium/3 at other restaurants, but struggled a little with a 2 spicy here. Still amazing food! I would just order a 1 next time to compare. Lastly, we came on one of their busiest days. It was Labor Day weekend and people were returning fromBurning Man. Service was still good considering! I had been following this restaurant on Instagram for a while since I just moved out this way. Very happy we finally got to try it! More...
The food is absolutely amazing and I love the servers and the owner. They're happy friends people
Best Thai food in town. All dishes pair wonderfully with a cold Chang beer. Friendly service and authentic food.
The food and service never disappointed their noodle is great I have Tom yum noodle and Yentafo noodle is amazing!
Really cool place. Decor is really nice with plenty of Thai movie posters, artwork, random pictures and antiques. Food was pretty good, we had a free appetizer plate for checking in on yelp. Main dishes included a beef gra pow and a supposedly curry dish. Gra pow was yummy, a lot of flavors from the basil leaves and peppers. More...
Great menu and prices. My wife and I love their coconut soup.
Amazing flavours and good beer selection, the perfect meal after Burning Man.
Reliably delicious Thai and great service. I go here regularly. If you like spicy food, just tell them and they won't be shy.
Love to hold here each time I get to Reno. Great food!!!
Great food. Wonderful service!
Good food, good selection. We ordered the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and wonton soup . Service was a bit slow, but staff were pleasant.
It's good food, not my fave Thai in Reno but may be due to the fact that I feel their menu is a bit limited esp on curries. It's a bit pricey though there are some unique dishes worth trying. More...
I have to say this is the best Thai food in California I tasted so far. I am from Asia and this is the place I will come back for next time when I visit Reno! Also the staff here was very nice and polite and we were well taken care of. Even my 6 year old likes the food and said they were yummy. Environment is cozy, spacious and clean. More...
My favorite Thai food!

Update Aug 2019: Has only gotten better. changing to 5 starsUpdate Sept 2018. I've now been multiple times. Great noodle dishes! Great service! Very consistent!I've only been once, and I'll definitely be back. If their green curry is as good as the drunken noodles, I'll give them a 5. Service was quick, and very nice. The place is definitely clean, but it has a lunch ambience. More...
Wife was in the mood for some Thai food. This spot has great dishes but be warned their medium is pretty spicy for the average taste. I would advise those who can't handle spices to order a level 2/5 or below we ordered all our dishes at a level 3/5 and it made me sweat and usually I get it super spicy at other place. Flavor is great and def. worth a stop if you're in the area. More...
While in Reno I stumbled upon this restaurant and loved it. The chicken satay, peanut sauce, and chicken pad Thai did not disappoint. Would for sure go back if ever in the area again. More...
Always good food and service.
Best Thai food in reno. Great soups and noodle dishes. Their spicy scale is very sharp, so I'd recommend starting with a 2 your first time. Any more than that and you'll lose the flavor of the dish to the amount of spicy. Affordable food with amazing flavors. More...
The portions seem a little smaller than other Thai joints in town, but the ingredients are better and the prices are good. The fresh spring rolls were incredible. Also tried the wontons, the ginger and mushroom stirfry, and the eggplant stirfry, all of which hit the spot. Looking forward going back to try more dishes! More...
All I can say is Yum! The papaya salad was wonderful labb salad was wonderful! I will definitely come back!
I love the food at this place. I mainly order to go because they are way to slow when I dine in.
The food is excellent! I will definitely come back.
Everything was sooo good. one of the only thai places i've tried that actually makes your food spicy when you as for max level. most thai places adhere to standard 'spicy' not southeast asian real spicy. they even gave me fresh thai chilis on the side! was sooo good. the best crab fried rice i've tried. add the 'fish sauce with chilis' on the rice. soooo good. this was our trip to tahoe/reno and was good to have some great food on the way back home. I'd definitely go back every time back in reno. one of the best thai places i've tried with the popular style dishes. we had the drunken noodles(spicy), it was great. the crab fried rice and the dry chili rub wings. all great. More...
Holy heck this place is good. Perfect execution, super nice staff, and OH SO YUMMY. I wish this place was in my town, I will come as often as we can while visiting!
Awesome! Authentic Thai with amazing flavors beyond hot chilis. A must stop while in Reno - cannot wait to come back!
I thoroughly enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and food. Will be coming back again in the future.
Most excellent and elegant!
Was craving green curry and my favorite spot was closed. Came here and was not happy with the price plus you have to pay an extra $2 for steam rice.... Very unhappy. Got take out and started eating when I got home. WOW!!! This damn chicken green curry was amazing!! The egg plant gives it a great taste. More...
I came here for the first time last night to meet with several other women in the group. The place is pretty big with lots of seating. Everything looks nice and clean. The waitress was very nice and noticed that our group was just meeting each other for the first time so she offered to let us all have our own separate bill instead of us trying to figure our who owes what. Delicious food... One of my best meals in Reno. Also, we ordered the papaya salad too spicy and the waitress noticed us not eating it and offered to remake it without us having to ask... Great service!
Quality food in taste and presentation!
Maria and I found that certain Thai restaurant that offers the cuisine of more than one Thai region. Moo Dang is easily accessible and has lots of parking. I am not a big fan of green papaya, green curry, or coconut milk, etc which are found in the majority of Thai restaurants and that is the base for most of their dishes. Moo Dang has all of this plus more: meals without coconut milk, We had the Sen Yai Noodles with chicken and vegetables, the Eggplant with Pork, the Ginger and Mushrooms, and brown rice. They brought us the hot and spicy condiments on the side to add to our food. Some condiments were spicy hot, others were not. We were both ecstatic with our selections and the food was not disappointing. Best Thai food, from my limited perspective, I have ever had. I have a feeling that in the near future Moo Dang will have a good following in the midtown area. A good selection of beers from Asia and other parts of the world. They also have sake and wine. Friendly, helpful waiters/waitresses who know the menu and will explain the menu items. We are looking forward to our next visit. $$, very casual, cafe decor, modest furnishings. Moo Dang is about food and service. More...
Located in midtown Reno, this restaurant has excellent ratings and so I had been meaning to check it out for a while. We went here on a Sunday evening, and the place was mildly crowded, showing it's popularity. The servers were prompt and we got our table in less than 5 mins.A yelp checkin does get you a free plate of "fish balls", so do not forget that!! Besides that, we ordered garden fresh wraps and Tom yum fried rice- the rice was tangy and a bit spicy which we loved. We went vegetarian and so we asked for tofu with our fried rice and the server obliged. Almost anything can be made vegetarian so do not hesitate to ask. All in all, we were happy with the food. I loved their peanut sauce which comes with the garden wraps, super yum!!Overall, we enjoyed our dinner there, the only thing is the order does take time to prepare to be patient. Otherwise, a fantastic Thai restaurant, would definitely visit again!! More...

The waitress was very nice and noticed that our group was just meeting each other for the first time so she offered to let us all have our own separate bill instead of us trying to figure our who owes what. That was a real plus for us for future group dinners. The menu had so much to choose from. You will find many things to eat even if your a vegan, vegetarian, or meat eater. I also really like the way you can choose how spicy you like your food from a 1-5 star rating on 1 being the most mild and of course 5 will be very spicy. There food does not have msg so another big plus for them. Lastly I just want to mention that I love the way they use paper straws. Nice to know they are doing a part to help the environment too. So the next time your looking for a good Thai place you should check them out. The parking lot is so big with lots of other places around so you should not worry about getting a parking spot. More...
Not even half way through my bowl of Tom Ka (shrimp) and I had to stop and write. Easily one of the best I've had.1. Broth: silky smooth, perfect blend of coconut and aromatics.2. Veggies: Perfect. Nice mix of onion, scallion, mushroom and tomatoes. Not overcooked, perfect snap.3. Shrimp: Perfect. Deveined and cleaned, not overcooked.4. Value: Small bowl could easily be your meal. A little expensive at 11.99 but we'll worth it for the large serving.Only complaint (mild inconvenience) was that there was a lot of inedible lemongrass and ginger pieces to pull out of just about every bite. All that tasty goodness has to come from somewhere I guess.Rest of meal: Drunken Noodles (pork and chicken) good, not great (7 out of 10). Thai Sticky Rice with Mango was good too, simple and basic with perfectly ripe mangos (7 out of 10).Overall: Excellent Tom Ka I'd go out of my way for on a rainy day. More...

Love the food. Good prices. Service is descent. The salt and chili wings are to die for.
Moo dang is this good. But pad Thai was not served with a lime.
I took my granddaughter to Moo Dang for a very nice lunch. We arrived just when they opened at 11am & it was good we did. It got busier as the day moved on. We both had a nice variety of Thai food along with a craft beer. It was good & filling food. If you have a difficult diet, you all should try this place. It is highly recommended by both of us. Authentic Thai food. The owner and servers are very welcoming -- you feel relaxed and well-cared for.
Food was very good. Spice levels were perfect. Lot of options for vegetarians.
I am not kidding when I say this is the best Thai food I have ever had. Fish balls and green curry all the way. Level 3 spice was too dang hot for me, but it was my fault for ignoring the warning. If you have split checks tell the waitress before ordering. Their fresh rolls are also excellent. We will definitely go back. The only downside is that their beverage menu is overpriced. More...
We always try to find a Thai place when we are traveling. Came across good reviews on this place, so we thought we would give it a try. We had Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Pad Thai and Green Curry chicken. Everything was very tasty. Had good seasoning and spice level to everything. Service was outstanding! They went well and beyond checking up on you. I would highly recommend trying this place. You will not be disappointed, More...
I had the green curry, which was pretty much what I was expecting. They use green beans instead of bamboo shoots , which is why they only got four stars
Great food. Service can be improved though, it took them half hour to take our order and another 20 mins to serve soup.
Really great service. Great food. Love the papaya salad! Great taste and spice!
Dound this place laid back and charming, excellent food and decently priced! We especially loved the chicken satay! Good service and delicious food. Will definitely be returning.
The decor was cool (Thai movie posters on the walls and Thai music playing through the speakers). The waitress was courteous even though she was very busy. The food was really good, and the Thai tea was delicious! I was a little bummed out that they didn't have yellow curry on the menu. I had the panang curry instead, and it was spot on. More...

**SUPER SPICY**I normally can handle some serious spice, Thai, Indian, Mexican, and I always ask for a 4 or 5 depending on the scenario. Today I had the Basil Fried Rice, which was delicious, but holy smokes was it spicy!!! Like insane spice, I’d go as far as to say it is the spiciest meal I’ve ever had in my life! 10 glasses of water, my beer, several knapkins, it was tough. But super delicious, fantastic friendly service with regular water refill, and nice environment. Tasty Wontons too! Very hand made and authentic, highly recommend. More...
Love this place
OMG I love love love their Pad Thai! And they are so nice! I was ordering a take out and I was on the phone forever and she even brought it out to my car! Their food is SUPER!
I have had my local Thai loyalties for a decade and a half in this town but Moo Dang is threatening to upset that.Their standard dishes like curries and Pad Kee Mao are on point. Even more enjoyable are some of their more unique offerings. Do yourself the favor and order the Pad Ew Sen and the Similan Noodles. These two complement each other very well if sharing between a few people and will give you some different, more savory Thai flavors to experience.Dont miss Moo Dang if you're looking for Thai in Reno. We went Sunday afternoon around 3ish. We were the first ones there. No line, no wait. Then, ppl started showing up. The place did not disappointed! We picked the Drunken noodles, Similan noodles, a plate for our kids (forgot what's called, just have a pic), order of sticky rice. It was Delicious!!! Great service. Clean place. We will go back again to try something different. Their Instagram page have a bunch of pictures illustrating the dishes in their menu. That helped us chose our dinner. More...

Expensive but completely authentic and delicious Thai food! The best noodle dishes I've had outside of Thailand.

We came here for an early lunch on a Saturday. I had the Pad Thai and I liked it a lot. My boyfriend had a curry dish and he liked his less, even though he normally likes curry. The unique blend of spices kept me wanting more!!! We also had the basil fried rice. I have never seen anything like this on a Thai menu so I was intrigued. It did not disappoint!!! Awesome Thai place. Awakening spice level. Enjoyed a lot. My personal favorite Thai Papaya Salad.
I had the soup with red roasted pork and noodles and wantons. It was delicious, the best food I've had in weeks. The pork was tender and the broth was delicious and spicy.
Lemongrass salad was delicious! Sticky rice was a nice dessert. Service was cordial. Wonderful overall experience.
This was some of the best thai I've ever had, and that's saying something.
Best authentic Thai food in the Reno area! The owner, John is a gracious host and genuine all round good guy. When I'm craving Thai food, I don't give driving to midtown Reno from Carson City a second thought...it's that good!
Great Thai place. I love the drunken noodles with red pork.

I'm a Thai food junkie. I called in and ordered the tom kha soup. I wasn't a huge fan of it because all I could taste was that sweet coconut broth and the other flavors weren't coming through. Also, I don't like having chunks of lemongrass in my soup because it makes it very hard to enjoy. Maybe strain the lemongrass after cooking, because it's just kind of off-putting. However, it gave it a really nice aroma. I will have to try their curry next time. More...

Great Nam Tuk and Pad Thai.
I lived in Thailand for several years and one of my favorite things to do was eat. I can tell you from experience that this place is great!Every dish is good, but they have a few dishes that are made very authentically and make me feel like I'm eating back in Thailand. I love the food here. It's the best Thai in Reno. The wait staff are polite, accurate, and wonderfully attentive. The portions are generous and absolutely delicious!
Great authentic non greasy thai food. Be careful with spicy ratings. Sometimes can be a little inconsistent but mango sticky rice for dessert more than makes up for it.
One of my go-to places, nice staff and nice interior.
Great atmosphere. Clean establishment. Nice workers who are really attentive. The food was delicious! Phad Thai yum! I would deff recommend Moo Dang and will return!!
Level 2 pad Thai was awesome, perfect amount of spicy!!
Great food. Ate so .Much I had to take a nap.
Good crab fried rice and chow mein. Papaya salad is a little bit salty. Very spicy, level 2 is spicier than we expected, will get level 1 next time.
I LOVE this place! I swear I could eat it daily! The owners are super cool but the food, it's the best Thai in Reno! They will make it as spicy as you want!

Everything we have ordered at Moo Dang has been AMAZING, the ingredients are fresh and tasty, the recipes and on point and the spice level is perfect. Met up with some wonderful friends for dinner and to try out Moo Dang. This is not really my go to type of food but I have a few dishes that I tend to gravitate to and I am also adventurous so when the opportunity to get together was suggested I wasn't about to miss out. The best thing about the night besides service, great company and wonderful food was one of our friends had frequented here often so she was able to help us navigate the menu along with the friendly waiter to give us suggestions of some GREAT dishes to order including the correct heat levels. We even ordered the Thai Iced Coffee that she was drinking because it looked so tasty and IT WAS!!We ordered several dishes that we all shared Pad Thai, Garlic & Pepper Shrimp, Ginger Mushroom with Red Pork, Chicken Stir Fry and Drunken Noodle with Chicken at 0 heat (thanks to our friend's suggestion because it was perfect). We also go two FREE orders of the Fried Fish Balls with a wonderful dipping sauce just for checking in on Yelp - too cool! I have to say that the dishes were bountiful, delicious or in my words OMTasty! We had plenty to share and even take plenty home with fresh ingredients and wonderful, excellent service from start to finish which is a plus, plus in my book - thank you Moo Dang. I hear that the Mango and Sticky is an absolute must for the next time I stop in. ENJOY! More...

Best Thai food in Reno! Service is excellent and the food is always great.
adventure time of a lifetime
Excellent authentic Thai food and great service! You must try! As close being in Thailand as your going get in Reno! Amazing sukothai soup and pad see ooo
My wife and I rate establishments on a multiple of factors. At the top of the list is the customer service, followed by product and then price. For us attentive friendly service will even help elevate a less than stellar meal to above average. However IMHO bad service prevents any meal from being a 5 star experience. At Moo Dang we found a trifecta. John and his staff exceed in all three criteria. The interior decor is very basic and unmemorable. The food and its presentation is anything but. There is an assortment of noodles, rice, salads and unique dishes that compliment the usual suspects of pad thai, etc. My wife and I have been going to Moo Dang since it first opened and enjoyed it from the onset. However we have noticed a consistent improvement as they found their groove. Personal favorites include the pork garden fresh rolls, lemon grass salad, similan salad and the Tom Ka soup. If you are into beer they have a wide assortment of craft brews. This great little place has become one of our favorites. We recommend with total confidence. More...
