A combination of a number of factors, including:
An eye catching design that looks both professional but is also to the point, users need to find the information they are seeking ASAP, otherwise they will look elsewhere.
Well thought out user journeys to obtain the information they are looking for.
Obvious call to actions around the site, allowing users to get in touch with you quickly and efficiently.
A responsive site catering for all devices, mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop.
Quick to load pages for both users and Google SEO ranking.
A great CMS (if required) to allow easy site maintenance.
Great support througout the process and beyond.

What are you hoping to achieve from the new/re-designed website?
What is your available budget for the work?
Do you have an existing logo and or brand?
Do you have hosting setup?
Would you like to manage the site yourself once live?
Are there any products or services that can be purchased on the site?

The feeling when a happy client is pleased with the website and it has a direct positive impact on their business. I have always been a creative person but I am also very capable in technical aspects too, which is why I am equally happy designing as I am developing websites.

The flexibility of being able to manage my own workload and juggle a busy family life. I have 3 children who are all of school age, so being around as much as possible means a lot to me. That as well as having the drive and determination to be successful on my own terms.

I have been designing and developing websites for a long time, I know what I'm doing and I like to help people. Working as a freelancer can be difficult at times and there are many poor ones that give the rest of us a bad name. I work very hard to earn the trust of my clients, I'm a very honest and reliable person and I think it's important to keep the lines of communication open whatever the situation. I'm not going to go missing just because I am busy or I have something else to do, I take this seriously as when I am not at my desk working for a client I'm not earning money for business and my family. Even though I work remotely I provide a great level of service to my clients, let's face it, it's in my best interests to do so. Work of mouth in this industry as with others is vital, so I'll do my utmost to make your happy that you chose to work with me.

Yes, all of my services are provided remotely. I am a full-time freelancer available Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm.

Not relevant as my services are fully remote, all communication is via email, telephone and Teams etc.

Services

I provide web design using my many years of experience to create an engaging website that is both professional and to the point. My personal approach is to keep things simple, clean and modern with an eye cayching design and some subtle animation to retain users attention. I would usually (when budget allows) begin with wireframes of the key pages to layout main/repeated sections positionally, before then moving onto the actual design.

I also have many years experience of developing websites. When it comes to front-end development I normally use the Bootstrap framework as a base adding custom styles to add the signed off design. The pages would be full responsive, working on mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop. Plus I would always test using the latest browsers including FireFox, Chrome, Safari and IE10 upwards.

I have developed many websites using the WordPress platform, preferring a custom approach to the theme stage of the build. I do not usually use purchased themes or builders. The custom approach allows me to ensure the site loads faster and make all areas editable as required. I use minimal plugins, working mainly with Advanced Custom Fields.

When developing an e-commerce website I would usually build with WooCommerce. It has so many features an potential plugins for various features it's a very cost effective way to develop an online shop. I have experience of working with payments gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, SagePay and WorldPay.

I am a firm believer in great support and communication to further improve my working relationship with clients, over the years I have built a reputation for providing just that. There is absolutely no excuse for poor communication when working freelance/remotely as I do full-time.
