About

Based in Bolton and servicing the North West, I specialize in pest control with minimal use of toxic chemicals whilst maintaining efficacy. Often preferring traps and proofing methods over toxic baits, for example.

I am qualified to RSPH level 2 standards and comprehensively insured.

Steve came and dealt with the rat that had taken up residence under my shed. He explained everything he did and allayed my fears about using poisons around my dogs by using traps instead. He did a full survey and pointed out all the activity that I had not even noticed before setting some traps and catching the rat within a few days. He then advised me on how to make my garden less attractive to them. Definitely recommended. More...

Q&As

The variation. One morning I could be suited up, wearing a respirator and squeezing into a hot stuffy loft to remove a wasp nest. The same afternoon I could be basking in the sun while trying to address a mole issue on a golf course.

Working for myself means I can charge a reasonable price and still make a living. No middle managers or call centers taking a cut. Plus, taking the initial call myself means I can often give initial advice over the phone.

I am qualified, I am insured, I am passionate about all aspects of pest control and public health.

I want to leave people happier (and less worried) than when I arrived.

I need to complete various risk assessments and spend time surveying before I can even start a job. Both for safety and environmental reasons. Copies are always available to customers, just ask and supply me with an email address.

Finally, I try to work up to a standard, rather than down to a price. With this in mind, my prices are set at what I need to make my business a success, rather than kept artificially low to compete with others who may not hold the same ideals.

Whilst I can't really do any work remotely, I am always willing to give free advice over the phone to anybody who calls me with a pest problem.

As a pest controller I already have and use comprehensive safe systems of work including PPE and sanitizing equipment to keep myself safe from the various hazards involved in my line of work. Extending this to keep myself and my customers safe from Covid 19 has been a relatively simple task.

Services

I can treat wasp nests with either professional use only insecticidal products for a rapid knockdown effect or for nests in sensitive locations such as above ponds I can use non toxic organic compounds.

Before any chemical treatment is carried out a site risk assessment and environmental risk assessment must be carried out to ensure any potential risks to people and non target species are minimised. Copies of these documents along with safety data sheets for any products used can be supplied on request. Please ask if you require any of these documents.

I will discuss the problem with you, arrange a convenient time to visit and provide you with a fixed price, no obligation quote to remove the offending mole (or moles).

All jobs are different and moles invade all kinds of properties so I need some basic information before I can quote a price, but as a rough guide I would usually charge £120 for a domestic lawn.
That price includes a free retreatment if another mole moves in within 14 days.
