It was an absolute pleasure working with Dakota. She perfectly strikes the balance between professional and personable. She was also so comfortable with our squirmy 3 year old daughter and in turn, was able to capture her true essence in photos. No one has been able to do that. I had high standards in looking for a photographer to capture our newborn and family shots when my son was born. I was immediately drawn to Dakota's beautiful aesthetic. It was exactly the elegant, warm style that I wanted, while truly capturing the character of our family. Our photographs certainly did not disappoint . I am thrilled with every image of my family. My experience with Dakota for my son's newborn photo shoot was truly amazing. From the minute I met her, I felt relaxed and in good hands.
She was extremely patient (I wish I could emphasize that more) with my son's crying fits and even gave me new strategies to calm him when he is fussy. Her studio is equipped with dozens of outfits, blankets, and props for the newborns, which is a plus because I did not have to worry about buying outfits for my little boy!
As for the photos, she did not disappoint. I am obsessed with how they turned out! She allowed access to my son's gallery the same day as the photo shoot so I was able to share with my husband all the fun we had.
If you're looking for a newborn photographer, I highly recommend Dakota. She is incredible!

I was so nervous to do “newborn” photos because like the procrastinator that I am I waited to get them done until my baby was 1 month old and very alert. However, Dakota made everything feel so easy from the start and assured me that we would still be able to get good photos. The pictures came out SO amazing. Dakota is such a talented photographer! She is so gentle, patient and detailed oriented. She was willing to work and wait to capture the best shot.
She has a fully stocked home studio and has everything you would need for your photo shoot which takes the worrying and planning out of it for families. Her turn around time with editing the photos was impressive and the final product is beyond wonderful and was more then we could've hoped for. We got everything we wanted out of our newborn photo shoot. We look forward to working with her again and highly recommend her!
We have had another session with her and she did not disappoint! She captured my daughters personality in every shot! We will continue to use her as she is the best we’ve found!

One of the best experiences working with an infant photographer! We chose Modern Newborn Photography to do a mini Christmas session and I️ was overjoyed with how well the entire experience went. Dakota truly has a passion for photography and more importantly children photography. Our session was only an hour and Dakota was ready to go an hour beforehand, welcomed us inside and got going right away. Super flexible to work with since our kiddo was sleeping when we arrived!
