I've been going to here to cut my hair for 5 years and always very happy when she cuts my hair. When i go to a different barber and they mess it up she always fixes it and i only trust maria to cut my hair no one else.

Ive been natural for over 15 years no relaxer etc, I decided it was time for a change, where I am currently theres no Afro Hairdressers, so It's been a long search to find someone and 6 months later I found Maria via Facebook.

I was meant to be having a Brazilian Keratin Brush treatment, but was worried about the chemicals etc, I kept my appointment but changed the treatment to be just a, Dye, wash blow dry, Trim and style.
Maria the owner of the salon was wonderful, it's not everyone you can trust to look after your crown and glory, but hand on heart she was wonderful.
I went in looking ok but came out feeling wonderful & looking great, I will be traveling back to her, because I can trust her, her product knowlege and skilled fingers are worth the drive......... More...

Hands down, one of the best kept secrets in Colchester.

I've been to many high street salons where the stylist just doesn't know how to style thin, wavy hair. Every time I would walk out dissatisfied because my hair would be too layered in the back and too long in the front. Movement was a thing of the past when I tried to get my hair done in Colchester...

Maria is an angel. This brilliant, Brazilian woman has 20 years of experience and is an absolute joy to be around. They just opened up their new location which is located on a side street between Metro Bank and Claire's Accessories. LUSH is also about 10 steps away.

The location is easy to get to, the stylist is fast and efficient, and my hair is the sexiest it's been in years. I can finally stop wearing it in the sad mom-bun I've been forced to throw it into, and start wearing it the way I'm meant to. I've finally found my hair lady, and I'm never leaving her side!

Having had some less fortunate experiences with other hair salons in the past, my hair had been chopped in to, far too much (for my fine hair type) and was becoming thin and straggly. I'd become quite cautious about having my hair cut anywhere. Maria at Models Hair and Beauty has been very friendly and understanding, making my salon experience so much nicer again. She carefully listens and is very careful to ensure that she looks after and cuts my hair to my liking and to a high standard. She has advised me on various aspects about my own hair type, what works well and what doesn't, to help me keep my hair looking good. I am so pleased to say that my hair is looking much nicer and healthier these days! Maria is very skilled not just in knowing hair cutting techniques, but in assessing your own head of hair to ensure that she cuts it in a way that will most compliment your own hair type.
