Welcome to Professional Tree Solutions,
A Waterlooville based company, servicing Hampshire and West Sussex.
We are a new partnership company, set up in early 2017 by co-founders, and long time friends, Toby Olway and Michael Miller.

Toby Olway worked as a county ranger at Staunton Country Park for over 10 years, helping to manage the park and especially the trees in our local country park. Early into his career as a ranger he gained his City and Guilds level 3 extended diploma in arboriculture at Sparsholt College near Winchester and various tickets allowing him to work as a tree surgeon within the park, where he honed his skills in practical and theoretical arboricuture.

Michael Miller also started his career at Sparsholt studying for the level 3 extended diploma in arboriculture, before going off to sub-contract for utility companies for the first 6 months out in the field. He then decided to move to Perth, Australia where he would train and subcontract for a year with a highly skilled tight knit team of Australian tree enthusiasts. After returning to England he carried on sub-contracting for many firms in the south, taking the different points that made each company professional.

The idea behind PTS is to unite all of these things that made each company perform professionally and to provide a service that really works for the customer, whilst also maintaining that we keep our trees healthy and our shrubs in good order.

Very pleased with this service. After giving a very reasonable quote for the removal of a tree and stump, the job was done to our complete satisfaction.

mmiller@ptstrees.co.uk Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

The day to day challenges and the variation, no two jobs are the same and all are team based exercises which I find extremely fulfilling, no matter if its hedge cutting in a well accessed garden or removing large dead trees in an enclosed space. You wont catch me doing any other job for a long time!

What inspired you to start your own business?

After subcontracting for many different companies in the south of England, and also in west Australia, I saw the different ways in which each company ran their units and decided that none of them were doing work to the standard that I wanted to give myself. So I have taken all the good bits that I learnt from everyone I worked with and incorporated them into my work ethic, and have also taken the bad bits and incorporated into my bad workmanship lists.

Why should our clients choose you?

Whenever I look at a job and how it has been completed I always think to myself: "Would I be happy if this was my garden/land" which always pushes us as a team to go the extra mile to make sure you are getting the service that you pay for.
Tree surgery can be a dangerous job in the wrong hands so it is important that you choose a company that is A: well trained, certified and insured. and B: are efficient in identifying, managing and minimising risk. At PTS we have all been highly trained to deal with any situation and we are completely certified and insured for your peace of mind.
