My son and I stayed here for 4 days.  We were in town for his hockey tournament.  The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable.  The lobby is very cozy with many sitting areas and the restaurant had a great social atmosphere.  Food was good too.  The front desk personnel were very friendly.  I was on my way out and my son needed a tissue (he was fighting a cold). I went into the 24 hour store to buy a travel pack and they didn't have them. So I went to the front desk and asked for a couple of tissues and I was given a box of tissues.  I offered to pay for them and she wouldn't accept pmt.  This is only one of a couple examples of the employees going above and beyond.  I will definitely stay here again. I was there for a Toyota training. I thought the lobby was beautiful so I took a few selfies for snapchat. I was soon approached by a security guard and informed that I was "making other guests nervous. " I said "You're right, someone smiling and taking selfies in front of your beautiful surroundings would make me nervous too!" Maybe they should clearly post a sign that says "no photos! cell or other allowed inside the Marriott." I was embarrassed, and felt like this was a non issue. I would recommend clearly posting things like this if you want to enforce them. I appreciate management reaching out to resolve this in a timely manner. More...

I was here for a convention (not a wedding), so my review is of the people and hotel/exhibition facilities - they were awesome.

The rooms are very large, the mattress was nice and firm with high quality pillows and comforter - they were a great value. All the employees I dealt with where extremely pleasant, professional and accommodating.

If you're here for an event, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the great variety of meeting spaces and the high quality meals they can provide.

My only complaint? My Buffalo Trace bourbon was a little over priced.

Will definitely be back.

t spent the night with my kids at this hotel, to escape some construction debris my husband made. I don't have to tell you--this hotel is deceptively mum-looking from the outside. It could not be nicer, cleaner or have better people on staff. I was there with my 3 children, and they could not have been more accommodating. I do recommend bringing your own food/drinks (unless you're willing to pay 5 dollars for a large bottle of Fiji Water and I have no doubts the hotel has great food if you really want it. However, the coffee shop inside? Well worth it!) Mini-fridge is provided, and it was mega-clean! at 108/night for a double room? Very, very competitively priced! My husband and I just had our wedding ceremony and reception there on Saturday. The room was beautiful and clean. Alyson, the coordinator was awesome and knew when to be there at the right moment with calming reassurance.
The staff were so welcoming and absolutely wonderful during my reception. There is one lady that works up at the front desk that stayed after she done with her day to be at the ceremony and congratulate us after we walked down the aisle as husband & wife. She is so wonderful, kind, and sweet!! The Marriott is so lucky to have such a great person on staff.
The food was delicious and my guests all loved it.
The only downside that had me freaking out a little was how late they had started setting up my ceremony area and I had yet to still get it decorated. (Queue Alyson with the perfect timing and calming reassurance).
They made sure that all the guests staying there knew that the ceremony was going to be going be happening. I guess we had an audience of hotel guests (I didn't notice but some of my guests and wedding party told me) watching the ceremony from all over. I hope that they enjoyed the ceremony as well!!
Thank you Marriott and all of your staff for being so welcome and wonderful on our big day.

I really enjoying staying at this location.  I travel to MN a lot for work.  My company has a plant right down the street, so it's very convenient. I gave it only 4 stars because the price per night is all over the place sometimes.  I know supply and demand and all but it's a bit disappointing knowing I have to stay within a certain budget.   Sometimes it's within budget and most times not. I was here for a wedding, and the banquet hall was very nice. It was well organized, with well trained staff. The catering staff was attentive to details and my water glass was always full. Staff was never far away if we had any questions or an issue arised. The whole reception worked as a well oiled machine. Food was surprisingly good for banquet food. The chicken was moist (what?! what banquet chick isn't dry..) and produce was fresh. Halls are nice, with a great fancy/upscale vibe. I didn't stay in the hotel, only in the event halls, but from a glance the hotel looked nice. A little unorganized for my personal taste, but I also think it's the whole 'open floor plan' vibe that's in currently. I heard the rooms were very nice with a separate door to help keep the noise to a minimum so you could actually sleep. But there also were a bunch of kids spending the weekend for a tournament, so that doesn't help. I'm not sure if I would come back, (but I also live so close, where would it be even worth it ). But if another event occurs here, I certainly wouldn't complain. More...

In town for a hockey showcase and fortunately the team chose this Marriott hotel. Upon arrival, we were met by Gwen with the news that our room was not yet available - they were trying to quickly turn a number of rooms to accommodate the teams moving in for the weekend. She kindly took my number and called as soon as it was ready. The lobby is well appointed with an impressive fitness center, much better than your typical hotel. Room upgrades were not available as the hotel was booked, however I was in a king suite with sofa pull-out on the concierge floor. The room had a separate sitting area which is idea when spending more than a couple of nights. In the evening, the concierge lounge offered an assorted dessert selection, candies, coffee, tea, beverages and liquor, beer or wine for a small fee. Lee kept the lounge impeccably clean and he was pleasant and accommodating. Only drawback of my room was that I couldn't be 100% certain my bedding had been changed (couldn't help but think of the hurried state the staff was in when we arrived). My son was lounging on the bed when we got to our room, however at bedtime, turning back the duvet revealed sheets that didn't have that fresh, crisp feel. That, and an unwanted hair. Yuk. We slept on top of the duvet that night with our blanket from home. We addressed this with housekeeping in the morning.  Unless you are a reward member (we are gold), there is a charge for wi-fi and breakfast. I found the breakfast buffet chock full of variety, but $17++ was a bit pricey. Eat a big breakfast to get your money's worth! Overall, the staff couldn't be friendlier. Gwen provided the magic moment of remembering my name each time I saw her and Dylan in the restaurant delivered exceptional service the evening we decided to dine-in. We were also greeted warmly each time we saw Michael, Sr. Would stay here again should our travels bring us back to MN. More...

Every staff member was dedicated to making sure our event was a success and consistantly greeted us with a smile and extended a welcoming and helpful hand. Cathy provided excellent advice and guidance through the entire process and made the planning chores a fun and exciting time for our families. The hotel was just a few minutes from the wedding location in downtown Minneapolis and also convenient for our guests, close to the Shoppes of Arbor Lakes. They had ample parking close to the doors, which was appreciated in the deep freeze weather. The grand ballroom was beautiful. We also chose the Marriott as the location for many of the wedding photos as there were so many unique sites in the building for staging them. More than half of our 275 guests were also overnight guests at the hotel. We received many comments from them on how nice their accomodations were. Our wedding reception was held on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 and my wife and I, Emilie, could not have been happier with our choice or with Virginia! ! She was incredibly attentive and responded to every question and concern very promptly.

My wife and I and our parents all had, in my opinion, a massive amount of detail and general questions. Virginia and her staff could not have been better or more patient with us and that was one thing we really were looking for in a venue. She made the entire day and planning process flow effortlessly and she went out of her way on several occasions the past year or so to make sure she got us the answers we were looking for.

Virginia left nothing but positive impressions in our mind and the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest was phenomenal in every facet; I would not hesitate to recommend this venue in the future to any couple looking to book a reception in the northwest Minneapolis suburbs!!!

This location is one of the nicest Marriott properties I've stayed at in some time. The only real "con" is that it's not terribly close to much, but definitely a good option for those doing business in the area or hosting a conference/meeting. The property is a converted Embassy Suites so rooms are going to be larger than the standard, with a nice sitting area - a good option for families. We were upgraded into a corner suite (Marriott Elite, holla!) and it was huge! There are the standard amenities - indoor pool, workout facility, business center and a small-ish conference center. Parking is free, but wifi isn't unless you are a Rewards member.Nice rooms aside, the staff here is absolutely great. We arrived a bit before the 3pm check in and had to wait a bit for a room (maybe 15 minutes). Really no big deal, but they offered us drink coupons for the wait which I thought was really nice.
