I've enjoyed several sessions with Sidra now and I am achieving a steady and well-paced weight loss through the techniques she is teaching me. Her approach is calm, considered and very kind. Sidra talks a great deal of sense, and helps bring clarity where there might be confusion. Hypnotherapy is simply achieving an altered state of consciousness for the benefit of therepuetic purposes. This means encouraging a state of deep relaxation similar to day dreaming, meditation, or the state just before you wake up or go to sleep, and then making beneficial suggestions and using hypnotic techniques to the subconscious mind during this time. To put it simply, therapeutic hypnotherapy is about changing or “unlearning” patterns of undesirable behaviour and creating the desired change in behaviour that we want, by learning new, appropriate or more useful patterns of behaviour, using hypnotherapy.

Counselling is a talking therapy that helps a person to explore and think about possible solutions to what might be worrying them. An important part of counselling, is that the counsellor will not judge or make decisions on behalf of clients they are seeing.

NLP or Neuro linguist programming is the process of understanding how each person makes sense of his or her world though sensory filters and their ‘model of the world’. ‘Neuro’ refers to neurology or the neurology of the mind and how we may process the information through our five senses; visual, hearing, touch, smell, taste. Linguistics refers to how our model of the world is coded and given meaning. So for example, by pictures, our perceptions, words (talking to ourselves) body language and other non verbal means. Programming refers to the patterns or programmes that we use to achieve our outcomes. NLP is therefore, like learning the language of your own mind.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) places great emphasies on the connection between thoughts, beliefs and feelings. It is a powerful way of changing how you think about yourself and the world around you. In contrast to various other therapies, CBT focuses on the present problems and issues that clients face rather than extensively analysing the past.

There has been extensive research supporting CBT as an effective therepeutic tool for various issues. Some of these issues include; Anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders and post trumatic stress disorder.
