Alta Willow was a sweet but very stubborn German Shepherd. After spending 2 weeks with Stephanie and Francisco, she came back a new dog! She is more attentive, listens to me, instead of just hearing me, and isn't aggressive with my little dog like she used to be. Thanks to Francisco's keen insight, knowledge, and understanding of dog psychology we have been able to prevent dog fights in our home. We are so pleased that we have not had to rehome any of them. We have 5 large dog's. The newest addition and my GSD were having violent fights that even lead to an ER visit when my Son tried to break up a fight. My husband and I sent our standard poodle puppy to their 2-week Board and Train program. Francisco and Stephanie came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! They answered all of our questions throughout the program and we were able to visit our puppy often. Francisco and Stephanie are friendly, professional, and courteous. Fransisco was extremely friendly and thorough from the first time I contacted him. My dog, Sam, was so stubborn and strong-willed. He pulled so bad that I couldn't walk him down my street and he barked at everything that moved. Throughout Sam's time at Minaya K9 Academy, Fransisco was always giving me updates on his progress even sending me videos of him working with Sam. Fransisco is very good about working with your schedule so you can visit your pet during the week and he will work with you as well! I could tell a HUGE difference starting the first week. I just got Sam back home and I feel like I have a new dog! He doesn't pull at all and his barking problem has went away as well! Fransisco even contacted me today to ask how he has done so far. I rescued a Chihuahua from the Washington Co Animal Shelter. She is 5 years old, had never been socialized and was only used for breeding. She came to me 4 months ago and was suffering from fear aggression. She was so traumatized, it took 3 days for her to come out of her crate. I worked on gaining her trust and getting her spayed. I could not walk her nor get her anywhere near people and was almost to the point of returning her to the shelter. But instead I took her to Francisco and Stephanie at Minaya K9 Academy for a basic 2 weeks training. After talking to them, their plan was to work on socialization and I could not have been happier than when they sent me a video of her sitting and letting children pet her! I was in tears. They kept me updated on her progress, thru text and videos. Because of the love of animals, their patience and dedication to what they do, my Lady has progressed beyond my wildest dreams and is becoming the wonderful companion I knew she could be. We still have lots of work, but with Francisco and Stephanie's help and guidance, I know she will keep growing into the dog she can be. I highly recommend Minaya K9 to anyone and I know whatever the situation with your dog, they can definitely fix it I was afraid my Lady was so bad they would give up on her, but they did not and I'm so thankful for that. We spent a fair amount of time, seven months to be exact looking for the right breeder and SGD. Having never acquired a pet without seeing it in person before we were a little nervous about the whole ordeal in the beginning. Stephanie was a pleasure to talk with and willing to answer all of our questions. We decided to proceed forward with getting not one but two beautiful, well mannered girls from them. These two girls have been with us for almost two weeks now and have adjusted well. They have great drive when it is time to play or learn and have the off switch that everyone wants when they are in the house. To top it off the basic training, and house manners that they had already learned made them that much better. First, I recently met a German Shepard that my have friends adopted.....I immediately recognized that there was something extraordinary about this dog. He was calm, focused, obedient and interacted well with the other dogs at our get together. The owner shared that their dog had been trained by Francisco Perez at Minaya K9 Academy. I immediately contacted Minaya to enroll our dog Silas ....a newly adopted, energetic Catahoula pup. Francisco set up a time to come to my home and meet Silas. I was amazed at how calm Silas was around him and how quickly he responded to Francisco.....After our hour long meeting, I knew we had found the perfect trainer. Silas is now at the Minaya Academy and is learning incredible tasks..... He will be fully trained in the area of Basic Obedience Skills....I'm amazed at his progress and have visited with him at the academy during his two week training period. My baby Lola spent two weeks at K9 academy for her basic training. She is really stubborn and needed to learn discipline. My husband and I are really thankful, It is amazing how much she has learned . They are loving and caring towards the doggies. Stephanie and Francisco are supportive and understanding, kept us informed about Lola's progress and provided us with support after she came back home. My wife and I have been taking our 7 month old GSD to Francisco and Stephanie since she was 3 months. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience. They are always there to help with questions even when the training session is over. When we drop our dog off we have full confidence our GSD is treated well, and trust Francisco and Stephanie to have full control with her training and care. From the first phone call, Francisco was friendly, professional, and courteous. A free consult was provided to assess my puppy's potential and drive for learning. Each part of the training process was explained along with the rationale. My puppy, Sadie, is always excited to see Francisco and eagerly works with him. I too have learned how to motivate Sadie for more effective training. Not only was training held in Sadie's comfortable environment, but Sadie and I were checked in throughout the week for any issues or needs either of us had. Before I chose Minaya K9 training, I researched other training sites and found Minaya K9 the most affordable. Also, Francisco wanted the ideal training environment for Sadie to learn. We were lucky enough to find a 6 month old Registered Weimaraner puppy at a local pound. She was very active and strong willed. Professionalism, personal touch and sincerity! Our experience with Minaya K9 Academy has been overwhelmingly positive. We recently completed an 8 week training course with another Chattanooga dog training academy and were left feeling as frustrated with our young, high drive, GSD as we were at the start of training. Sadly, we considered finding her a new home. We contacted Minaya after a friend's positive recommendation and are grateful for the positive results with our GS, as well as touched by our entire experience! Francisco took our girl to his own home for a few weeks and we watched training progress videos of her during this time- with mouths open in disbelief. Our Sheva was truly unrecognizable. She was returned to us a new girl! We received daily contact inquiring after our training progress at home and were given any support and further training guidance needed. I just completed an eight week training course for my miniature beagle Sweet Pea from Minaya K-9 Academy. Francisco Perez Minaya is an excellent, experienced and professional dog trainer who incorporates positive dog training techniques into his method. This was evident at the first evaluation meeting when he immediately had Sweet Pea focused directly on him as he was giving her various commands. It amazed me how quickly she responded and how eager she was to obey and follow his directions. Francisco is not only a great dog trainer but he is passionate and conscientious about his training ability and techniques. The same can be said about his wife Stephanie, also an experienced dog trainer. Francisco is a friendly and personable trainer who wants to make sure that you and your dog understand all the training techniques. He wants you to progress and attain success each step of the way. He no only verbally instructs you as to what to do but actively demonstrates each particular command. The individual one to one instruction was important to me. It helped me to not only learn techniques but to also develop a better bond and relationship with Sweet Pea. The numerous weekly training video clips, text messages and personal phone calls were invaluable during the training. It made me more knowledgeable about Sweet Pea and her behavior. Francisco arranged for us to meet at different locations each week including several sessions at my home to see us on our own turf. This variety in locations allowed Sweet Pea to train in different environments and circumstances. It also allowed Francisco to zero in on specific needs I wanted to accomplish with the training such as teaching high energy Sweet Pea to use the treadmill.. His checking in and encouragement along the way inspired me to practice daily in helping Sweet Pea to succeed. Sweet Pea's desire to learn was constantly evident by her eagerness and vitality at each practice session. The reward for me has been to see how quickly she has progressed and to recently have a stranger say to me what a calm and well behaved beagle Sweet Pea is. Training with Francisco has been a positive, instructive and enjoyable experience for both myself and Sweet Pea. I plan on enrolling her in future training sessions.
