We booked a private room for my son's 30th birthday with 22 guests . From the moment we arrived we were exceptionally well looked after by a young man by the name of Regan Partridge. A very confident and polite guy who went out of his way to ensure we had a top class evening. Amazingly he is only 18 years old but handled the whole evening with a calm assurance and nothing was too much trouble. ||The food and service was excellent and we all had a fantastic time. I used Milsoms in Kesgrave yesterday for a business lunch. This place is great for business lunches and entertainment and I would highly recommend this place to anyone that lives in this area or that is visiting. The service is always great and the food is very good. In my opinion the prices reflect the place your at and it’s worth every penny. Lovely house and grounds with interesting history, I liked the amusing touches to room names i.e. the open kitchen is called The Engine Room. Quirky but tasteful interior design throughout, and gorgeous toiletries. The breakfast was superb, good choice and the eggs were cooked to absolute perfection. All staff were very friendly and efficient. We did not have dinner there so cannot comment, but was pricey, which is why we didn't eat there. Only slight problem is that the bath or shower do not have a rail or slip mat so my mother could not use either. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to return, next time with my dogs as I saw they were welcome there. Will look forward to the arrival of the Spa in 2020. More...

Stayed there for a short 1 night trip to Felixstowe. The place is very calm, easy to get to, and of high quality. I had a room in the main building, and it was very well equiped with all you need, even for a business trip. Certainly worth another visit.

Food was fabulous as was the service - the only down side was that tables were too close to each other not only meaning it was very noisy but the waiting people kept bumping into chairs - otherwise its a lovely venue - would have given 5 stars if not for this

We ate at the restaurant last night to celebrate my brother in laws 60th birthday - the food was superb and wonderfully presented and the service second to none - however the reason I didn't give 5 stars is twofold - firstly the tables were way too close together not only contributing to it being very noisy (not something I usually come up against when eating in a high end restaurant ) but also the waiting staff constantly bumped into our chairs and one member of staff had to hand cooked dishes across our table to waiting staff at another table as he couldn't squeeze through - secondly there is quite walk from the car park down lots of steps to the restaurant so if it's raining make sure you take a brolly - however overall it's a lovely place to eat that special meal

Was invited by friends to celebrate a birthday and we hadn’t been for quite some time so weren’t sure what to expect. The staff were friendly and welcoming. When it first opened we were regulars, visiting every week however over the years the portions got smaller and the prices increase. However on this visit we were happily surprised that the portions were generous and the quality was very good. We had a super evening and we were the last in the restaurant at the end. In the good old days you’d have to wait an hour or so for a table on a Saturday night however we only waited around 15 mins. The restaurant was full but the terrace wasn’t which surprised us. AS always the rooms very comfortable, the staff friendly and professional. The grilled prawns I had for dinner were amazing, big, juicy, perfectly cooked accompanied with the best salad I have had in an age, Rocket, red onion, olive oil and Parmesan, I could have eaten a bowl full. Unfortunately this time I asked for soft boiled eggs for breakfast and was served peeled, soft boiled but the yolk was cold. The hotel itself is very well maintained, comfortable, and the desk service is very helpful and efficient.||||That said, the location is isolated and not conducive to walking anywhere, so a taxi is needed to even go into town. The lack of a gym or pool within the hotel and the nature of the hotel's restaurant make it not a place I can recommend for any stay longer than a night or two.||||The restaurant has tasty food, but it is all very heavy and the service is indifferent and even neglectful. Once again, this is something that can be overlooked for a single night but one finds themselves wanting an alternative for even a second night and the isolated location makes this difficult. It was our first visit to the area and we were lucky enough to find this hotel for 2 nights DB &B. Food, accommodation and service were all truly excellent - one of the best short stays we've had in many years. This is also one of very few hotels worldwide that can do toast properly! Arrives hot, crisp and evenly brown on both sides. Eggs cooked fresh to order. And the dinner menu was varied; quality, tastes, colours and flavours lovely. The location was beautiful (so was the weather) and we were able to have dinner and a breakfast outside. All the staff were friendly and professional but especial thanks to the young restaurant manager who looked after us so well. Decided that an offer from Milsoms of “bubbles, dinner, bed and breakfast was too good to miss up for our 30th wedding anniversary. From arrival to departure the staff ensured my wife and I were well looked after. Before arriving you are contacted to see if you wanted extras which is a nice touch. We were shown upon arrival to a deluxe room in the main hotel, it was fantastic, large and well appointed. It worth noting that the room was warm but a dyson cool air fan was provided (some rooms do have a/c) but it was nice to stay in the old hall. A bottle of Prosecco and a bowl of strawberries we’re waiting for us. Pre dinner drinks and then dinner and what a dinner. My starter was whitebait which looked like a main course, main was a fillet steak and seriously it was the best I’ve ever had in the UK the side salad with anchovies was a very nice touch, the wife had a very tasty king prawn and crab salad followed by a tasty chicken dish. Offering 500ml carafes of wine was useful as we always have different tastes. After dinner coffee was taken on the patio on a very warm summers evening. |Whilst it wasn’t needed, there is full sky HD in every room and most welcome on a hot day a fridge with a range of complimentary soft drinks. |All in all it topped of 30 years of marriage in style. We were here for Afternoon Tea on September 22, 2019. We sat in the lovely lounge area, looking out over the patio and garden area. The staff were so genuinely nice at this hotel, we were with a large family group and a few young children, and they made sure everyone was served and happy. Huge kudos to Josh V., who served myself, my partner, and our 4 year old daughter the tea. He took the time to tell us what each delicious item was, as we have a peanut/tree-nut allergy. My room is large, spacious and feels luxuriant. The bathroom is frankly enormous. The staff are pleasant and helpful. There's no fuss, no bother. You just do things your way and they accommodate.The restaurant food is superb. My evening meal was a pleasure. That bearnaise sauce with the excellent steak was tremendous. I can't wait to see what breakfast is like!Value for money this is easily the best I've experienced. It's just a tad over your Holiday Inn and the like but a whole world apart.
