I have never felt more comfortable and confident about our decision to adopt through them. With over 20 years of experience,Whitney ensures that you will have a puppy with the best breeding and upbringing possible. They truly care and love each and every pup. I️ was at complete rock bottom with my dog; he got in the trash, tore dirty diapers apart, ran through the electric fence, just to tip the iceberg. Whitney is great at what she does. She's knowledgeable, flexible, dependable, and provides a service that I would gladly pay double for. My Newfoundland puppy (Sassy) was only 4 months old when we started basic obedience. We moved on to the intermediate class and now I have a 80 lb. 7 month old puppy that could be a wrecking ball had we not gone to see Whitney. I feel so blessed I live so close to Milligan valley training bc they give amazing results! My Golden was super hyper and I couldn’t walk him. He walked me. Now I can honostly say after just 15 weeks, he’s a different dog. He’s so much easier now and I am so happy with the outcome! The Milligan Valley experience is wonderfully awesome in every way. In September of 2017 I adopted my Milligan Valley 8 week old goldendoodle quality bred male puppy. He is a dog with a great mind and beautiful temperament. When he was 16 weeks old he began 15 weeks of obedience training instructed by Whitney Whitacre of Milligan Valley Dog Training. Whitney is a very knowledgeable and patient trainer. Her methods are modern and very effective. I am truly amazed at what my dog has learned and become due to the training methods that whitney uses. My first visit to Milligan Valley was not a good one. The prong collar horrified me. I was more than skeptical. I did not know Whitney but she came highly recommended by a good friend. I returned for the 2nd week of beginner training. I still despised the prong collar but was impressed with Whitney and her intense focus while working with each and every dog in our class. Week three, the difference in my unruly pup was crazy amazing. I was no longer yelling at him and he was not dragging me all over the neighborhood. He learned basic commands and we were bonding! We returned for intermediate training. As my confidence as a dog owner/trainer increased so did Coco's response to me. We were becoming a team. I think I fell even more in love with my little guy. Could not wait for level three training and was not disappointed in anyway. My crazy fur fiend is now off leash, comes when I call him, his confidence continues to grow so his reaction to strangers and other dogs is more in control. The best part is when Coco looks at me it is with trust and love in his eyes. He trusts me. I owe this amazing bond to Whitney. She is all about helping you understand and lead your dog. I highly recommend Whitney and Milligan Valley and will be happy to talk about our experience with anyone. More...

We just finished our sixth private training session. I have been extremely impressed with what Whitney has been able to do with our new puppy. She is eight months old and has been trained to fit into our family and lifestyle. Absolutely would recommend Whitney! She is outstanding at what she does and Ernie (my English Bulldog) and I appreciate her help immensely! Our relationship is still full of love but he now respects me and trusts me. His anxiety has significantly decreased and he's all around a better behaved dog. Viking was a bully— we were afraid of him. I spent a pretty penny on in home training from a company— who promised to be there and support us— help us— total waste. As a matter of fact their advice made some issues worse.

I came to Whitney with Viking— we had a horrible relationship— I was torn between re-homing him and breaking my sons heart. The biggest thing I learned was nothing was going to change until our relationship changed. We didn’t finish the puppy class — I was to overwhelmed with his nipping and bullying. I finally made a decision he was my dog and we were going to change things. I started working on just “loving” him, bonding with him and then started adding the things I learned from Whitney— Viking has changed soooo much. I am no longer afraid of my dog. Unfortunately our progress is out of order LOL but we are going to be taking her advanced class and I KNOW Viking will be the type of dog I dreamed of. Whitney was/has been supportive after the classes and through the roller coaster of Viking and I learning to be friends. I look forward to the day he can be off leash and under full control. I can’t thank Whitney enough for her patience and knowledge. I have recommended her to everyone I know and will continue to do so. We were the very fortunate family chosen to Jack, the goldendoodle she re-homed this spring. I can't say enough about the amazing training he received while at his "board and train" with Whitney! He is such an incredibly well-mannered dog and received compliments about his good behavior every time we're out and about. So grateful to her for the time she took training both Jack and our family. I could go on for days about Whitney and her abilities. We would recommend anyone, from anywhere to Milligan Valley Dog Training. Our rescue Rottie, June, was a puppy monster for us. We had previous experience and heartbreak from our two other Rotties, but June was a whole new ballgame. My husband and I didn't have the time, energy or patience to deal with June's puppy antics and the antics of our two-year old toddler at the same time. But we knew we had to do right by June. Enter Whitney into our lives. We did 6 private classes with her, and by the third class we already had the dog we knew June could be. We actually had a pup we started to like! Whitney is professional, perceptive, practical and quick on her toes. Not to mention she is incredibly likeable and relatable and we've really enjoyed getting to know her not just a trainer, but as a person. She is very adept at understanding individual family dynamic and your dog's place in your home. Her methods are tailored to your family's needs and the needs of your dog. The balance of correction, discipline, praise, and reward is exactly the training route we knew we wanted for our June and Whitney made that possible. For us, the training experience we had at Milligan Valley has lead to balance, direction, and a whole lot of love. Our whole family, especially June, feels a much stronger bond and contentment. Our time with our furry loved ones is forever too fleeting, so do yourself a favor and get over to see Whitney so you don't spend those already too short days frustrated and yelling at an unruly pup. Whitney is truly awesome. There isn't a single thing that she has taught us that hasn't worked. I will be honest, I had concerns about the prong collar and the e-collar. I was so worried they would change my sweet puppy's personality. Not only did they not change her personality - they work so well. My puppy is actually fine with me putting the collar on and happy! I can now take my puppy out to play without having to be on a leash and she is fully under voice command. She can run and play with me and I know she is safe. This is our first bigger dog and what was becoming a very hectic house is now back to peaceful with a very well behaved dog. I take my dog to work with me every day and everyone is amazed at how well she is behaved for a 7 month old. I can't recommend Whitney enough. She will tell you how nervous I was about the collars but I trusted her because everything else she had told us worked so quickly. I am so glad I did. Whitney knows what she is doing and cares about dogs tremendously. Our dog loves to go see her! More...
