DJ Mike Farmer is THE BEST. To sum it up, days and weeks after our wedding we had many of our guests telling us how great our DJ was. He kept the dance floor going non-stop for over 3 hours, and had people of all ages out there dancing until their feet hurt. His song choices, music transitions, announcing, timeline, humor, professionalism - all of it was perfect and made our wedding even better. Mike was the DJ at our 9/16/17 wedding and amazing! Due to unforeseen tragedy we lost our DJ we had booked about a month before our event. We retained Mike with really no information and not a lot of choice, but we are so lucky we had him! He was willing to meet with us immediately and steer us in the right direction for song choices and helped us pick songs for things we didn't know needed songs! He did an amazing job on the day of! He was friendly, responsive, asked about items we left off the timeline, just amazing! He played every song at the perfect time for its chosen event! Mike was referred to us by good friends of ours for our wedding at Marina Village.  He was exactly what we were looking for.  We didn't spend a lot of time thinking about a song selection, but Mike had great suggestions to  fit our taste.  Many of our guests commented on how much they liked the music.  He also edited our first dance and father-daughter dance songs because they were longer than what we wanted. Mike Farmer is clearly a professional who knows what he's doing and is not a noob at the DJ game. When we starting planning our wedding, we asked a buddy who has been to many weddings about what makes a reception great. He said that it's really up to the DJ to set the mood, fill the dance floor, and keep the party on track. So, my husband and I set out to find the right person for the job. If you want your guests to have an awesome time then hire DJ Mike, now! He was fantastic for our wedding. Very quick response times via email, very accommodating, and easy to work with. I was planning our wedding remotely from Seattle and I was nervous because I wasn't able to meet up with him prior to the big day but he came highly recommended to me from my venue (Grand Tradition) and the night was flawless. I gave him a list of songs and artists that we liked about 3 weeks before the wedding and Mike handled the rest. He was fun, upbeat, and great with our guest requests the night of. He also was awesome at sticking to our timeline and working with our coordinator to help keep us on track. Mike recently was the DJ for our wedding reception on 4/22/17, and we can't say enough about the amazing job he did for our day. Booking mike was easy, he was quick to respond, patient to answer any questions or concerns that we had. Even though he is based in San Diego county, he agreed to travel up to the city of Orange for our reception. He was also able to help my wife with a custom mix for the father daughter dance which became the hit of the night. Mike really kept the party going which is song choices, all of our guests had such a great time and had tons of nice things to say about the DJ. We had a really tough time trying to pick a final song of the night, mike told us not to worry, and i'm glad we trusted him. We ended the night by slow dancing to our first dance song while our family and friends circled around us hand in hand. Was a really nice way to end a magical night. Mike did an incredible job at our wedding. He was able to work with us on our budget which was so nice of him! He will respond to your messages and concerns immediately, within the same day, if not within minutes. On the day of the wedding he was there early, and he was prepared everything he needed. I was a hot mess trying to plan our wedding; I mean, I've never done this before so how do I know who to pick in a sea of choices? But alas... Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am that we found Mike to DJ our wedding. I found Mike thru Yelp after requesting a quote from several DJs. He followed up with me in a professional manner and I called him to "interview" him while I'm sure he did the same. Instantly I was at ease! He's professional, friendly, smart, witty and a true artist of his craft. We had great conversation and I told him I would call him back later after interviewing others. Honestly, that was my intention but subconsciously I didn't look any further. DJ'ing is an extremely important part of the wedding because the MC runs the show. If you're looking for a DJ thats going to get everyone on the dance floor, Mike Farmer is your man! He is very professional and makes the whole process seamless. He really listens to the things you want done and he is exceptional at keeping the timeline on schedule. He worked hand and hand with our photographer, which allowed our photographer to capture all the photos we wanted. When it was time to cut the cake, everyone was ready and aware. He is very good with the microphone. Also, Mike is not a DJ that will stray from your music list unless it is requested. We spent a lot of time creating our music list, so it was refreshing to hear Mike respect our time and music. He played all of our songs and he controlled the song request very well. Mike was awesome! He DJ'ed our wedding in Arbor Terrace at Grand Tradition. Our event was delayed by the Pala fire and Mike was a total pro keeping the guests entertained and happy. Mike DJ'd our wedding at Grand Tradition Estate on March 20, 2016.  My husband and I were very pleased with how smoothly the night went. Mike kept in close communication with us and our coordinator, and he was right on schedule and announced everything without us reminding him. I was surprised at his music selection because he doesn't seem like the type to listen to our genres. We never even gave him a playlist. Amazingly, he played some of my favorite songs from hip hop, salsa, and bachata. He even remembered at our initial meeting, which was about 8 months ago, that my husband loved Taylor Swift and he played "Shake It Off" which my hubby was very happy to shake to. This shows how much he pays attention to detail and tries to get to know the couple he's working with. He also has a high respect for veterans. Mike was our dj for our wedding on 7/5/15 and I'm so happy I found him. I first came across mike through our wedding venues preferred venders list and may I say I had many options for different djs but what set mike apart from others was that he responded to me very fast on quotes and what he can offer me for our wedding and was very professional. We met up a couple times to go over our wedding music and our request. My husband and I are not "dancers". But when planning our wedding, we both agreed that having a great DJ was important. We had our wedding at Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook and were thankful they provided us with a list of preferred vendors. Mike Farmer was quick to respond, courteous and professional. To get a good feel of our style, Mike asked us to compile a list of songs we DEFINITELY wanted him to play, along with a list of songs we did NOT want played. A simple task, but also genius. Because at our reception, we really felt he understood our likes and dislikes by the music he selected. Our reception was split between friends in their early 30s and those in their 60s. We were concerned that the generation gap would cause issues on the dance floor. But Mike did an excellent job selecting music everyone could dance to. He peppered in some slow songs (so people could catch their breath) and sped up to some fast songs to call everyone to the dancefloor! When I asked my 92 year-old grandmother about her favorite moments of our recent wedding, she replied "the food and that DJ! "The DJ, of course, was Mike Farmer.  From the moment that we first met Mike, we were confident that he was going to provide a wonderful wedding experience for our guests.  Mike has been in the business for a long time and his professionalism was obvious to us throughout the process.Mike played a variety of genres for us throughout the event (classical during cocktails, jazz/oldies during dinner and pop/hip-hop/contemporary during the main dancing).  He provided us with a "suggestions" playlist for all kinds of different musical varieties.  After we sent him our list of preferred songs, he was very attentive to making sure that they were all played. We hired Mike to DJ our wedding, and he was great! We found him via independent research and reviews like these, and he was also referred to us by our photographer. As this had become a destination wedding for us, we arranged everything over e-mail and phone call. It was a very easy and smooth process! I also feel that he is very reasonably priced.Mike did a fantastic job for us. We hired him to both provide ceremony sound and to DJ the reception. It was great because Mike brings a separate sound system for the ceremony, which means the reception sound system is all set-up and playing some light music when guests made their way over for cocktail hour! We had him mic my husband in addition to the officiant, and the sound quality and coverage was top notch. No sound problems whatsoever! (I used to do theater so I'm familiar with how such issues can pop up when you mix people and sound systems, hehe.)When the reception came around, Mike was super on top of it. Mike is a pro, and he handled every cue for the evening's festivities perfectly! We didn't have a hard partying crowd - that is to say, we had lots of older family and like 25% young children - but Mike still did a great job of tailoring the music to the crowd and the mood, while including the music and styles I had discussed with him beforehand. That's another thing - Mike really listened to and internalized my requests; he even went above and beyond to track down a certain song version through his network of contacts, unprompted! My son and his new bride hired Mike Farmer for their August 25, 2013 wedding. I really liked him. He has a refined announcing voice, but doesn't overpower the event with anything but the essentials, pretty much blending into the environment, but keeping things moving like a pro. He kind of quietly and politely keeps the schedule going with instructions to the guests, appropriate dance music when needed, and really has a good feel for the emotion of the event and "produces it" from the wings. Very smooth, very professional.When the schedule needed to adjust for timing, he flowed with it, no problem. Mike provided sound services for our wedding ceremony and DJ services for our cocktail hour and wedding reception and did an amazing job! We had a friend play acoustic guitar for our ceremony and Mike worked with him as well as our officiant to get the sound perfect for our ceremony. The sound switched over to Mike at the end of the ceremony for our processional and everything went smoothly. For the cocktail hour I had given him a very long list of our favorite songs and I was happy to hear them throughout it and during dinner as well. During the reception he did an excellent job of playing great dance music and especially during the final hour of our wedding the dance floor was packed and the energy was at an all time high. Mike Farmer was the DJ for our wedding on 6/2/13 and he was simply wonderful. Believe it or not I was actually sick on our wedding day (ugh! ) . Mike was so sweet and so accommodating to my requests. We had to delay a few events here and there, but Mike just rolled right with it. He checked in with me before each event to make sure I felt okay. As for his music, he played exactly what we wanted. We had both a young crowd and an older crowd, and Mike knew exactly what to play and when to play it. I was afraid people wouldn't dance very much and Mike had everyone on the dance floor, even up until the last song! Mike Farmer was professional from the day we met him.  Mike met me and my fiance months before our wedding and helped us plan our schedule.  It was clear that entertaining at events & weddings is Mike's full time job and he knows what he's talking about.  All of our questions/emails were responded to within 24 hours, if not immediately.Mike sent us a complete list of his song portfolio and had us add any numbers that were not already listed.  He then built our play list based on our preferences with some of his own personal touches (he knows what to play, and when to play it, to get people dancing).  Our dance floor was packed for hours.Mike also did a great job announcing guests and the wedding party, our first dance, etc... and kept us exactly on schedule the whole night.  Great memories for a lifetime!  We wouldn't change a thing.  We definitely recommend this 5-star DJ for your next event!Tom & Brandi More...

Mike! You're the Man! Our wedding reception was such a hit. Mike had the place hopping all night. In fact, at one point in the night my friend says, "I thought this would be a typical wedding reception but this dance floor is poppin' like I'm in the club! " It really was. Mike played just the right mix for the young folks and even the old folks. Even when my Tia's threw him a curve and demanded cumbias, Mike came through. He is a true professional who will keep the flow of the reception going but he is not trying to be the center of attention. Exactly what we wanted. And... We hired Mike for our wedding this past Friday.  I am a procrastinator so I was super busy up to and including the day of.  I only met with Mike one time and that was just to meet in person.  I was supposed to give him the day of schedule and some music choices.  Two nights before the wedding, I finally managed to email him a very basic timeline (ceremony at 4pm, dinner at 6pm, etc.) along with a few songs to play at specific moments.  I left everything else up to Mike and he definitely came through for me.  Everybody loved the music and I was surprised at how many people commented on how great the songs were (Frank Sinatra, 40's, big band style).  I was also shocked to see Mike bouncing around the room talking with staff and coordinating so much.  He was great.  I wanted a very professional D.J. with a great voice and that's what Mike is.  The first time I heard Mike on the mic was as we were being introduced and were walking in..... I was sooo impressed with his announcement.  It was perfect!I loved that Mike was a one stop shop and I didn't have to hire anybody else for lighting.  The uplights made the room look 100 times better so definitely opt for those - you will not be sorry.  He set them up perfectly along the walls with no guidance from me (another failure on my part as I had no time to speak with Mike again before the wedding other than a two minute conversation the day of)  We had blue uplights outside and those were amazing!  I will post pics when I get some. We had Mike for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at Wilson Creek Winery in August. He was a very professional in helping us pick music and helped in making sure we had an awesome time at our wedding.   We were suppose to have him for 6 hours from 5pm to 11pm but when we arrived at our wedding to get ready around 145pm he was already there setting up his equipment!Mike really kept things moving at the wedding as far as telling people where to be and keeping our timeline for things going.  He did our uplighting and even helped in getting us a gobo design for the dance floor with our names on it. Mike went above and beyond as he helped me customize music. We wanted our first dance to start out traditional then we had a choreographer help with the second hip hop part of the dance. So he helped with our first song then record scratch into our hip hop dance segment.  We were making changes and additions to our music and he always emailed us back within hours!  The night before our wedding we were in the hotel emailed him at 11pm with a few additional songs and to our surprise he emailed us back within minutes sayings he'll take care of it!  DJ Mike Farmer is the best in the business and you can't go wrong hiring him!
