I hired Luke to repair the roofs on my house because he seemed trustworthy and honest. However he arrived very late to do the repairs, but carried out the fitting some roofing felt and gutter plates.
Unfortunately the finish of the work was far from satisfactory. The tiles were not fitted correctly in line with the other tiles sticking up all over the roof and the ends were not cemented properly. Also part of the job was to stop the leaking of rainwater behind one of the facia boards.
I emailed Luke and he came to have a look and he agreed that he had not done a great job and would re do it. He did come back and corrected his errors to an acceptable standard. I told him that water was still leaking from behind the facia board and after using some mastic we agreed that I would keep him posted.
After a bit of rain I found it was still leaking so I emailed Luke. After 10 days I hadn’t received a reply so another email and several texts. Still no reply from Luke.
He gave a life time guarantee on his work which is of course useless if he won’t honour it.
I am extremely disappointed with Luke’s lack of response and of course like some sort of refund. I do not want him back here ever again and can certainly not recommend Mighty Oak Construction.

Hi Brian. I feel like this is incredibly unfair I have been working in London I am not purposely ignoring you, I will come and see you as soon as I am home, had I considered that anything I had done would cause an emergency I might have been more careful when checking my emails . I am sorry a few of the tiles were slightly misaligned but I thought we got over that. If the small front roof is still leaking I will remove and replace all the work I previously carried out as I expressed on my last visit.

I spoke to luke and explained that I had a tennant waiting to go into a rental unit and it was insecure due to damage to the entrance. He asked me a few questions then assured me not to worry and agreed to come around the next day after work. He turned up at about half past four already carrying everything he needed on his van and spent about three hours repairing the door lining, replacing my arcitrave and hanging a door.
