I love this tiny doughnut spot! Micro Doughnuts is adorable and the staff are so friendly. The doughnuts are fried fresh when ordered so best enjoyed while hot if they have wetter toppings. If I plan to enjoy them later, the bag of doughnuts with dryer toppings is an amazing choice (cinnamon + sugar). They typically take 4 minutes once ordered. They are decadent so a mouthful is just enough. A half dozen or dozen sampler allows you to try all their different flavors. Eighteen regular flavors are always available plus their two additional bonus flavors that change regularly (today was s'mores + mango). We loved the cute décor, friendly staff, Kool Beans coffee, and especially the fresh doughnuts. The topping list has just about everything anyone would need to satisfy their doughnut craving, and the ability to create a box with 12 different toppings is appealing to anyone wanting to try the whole menu quickly :) We’re excited to have something new like Micro Doughnuts in our Brookings community!

Discovered this lovely truck at the 2017 Heights Summerfest, and was glad that I waited half an hour in line to try their yummy doughnuts. They offer their signature "micro" doughnuts, which are essentially mini donuts (like the ones at Rebel), but are made to order, so they're hot, fresh, and crispy, yet soft on the inside! Interestingly, their business actually started out in the state of Washington, moving on to Alamogordo, and now Albuquerque. With a wide variety of flavors to try and the ability to mix and match, I opted for the half dozen ($4). I tried the following:PB&J Cotton CandyRaspberryBlueberryCinnamon SugarMaple & BaconI loved every single one... the cotton candy was the most unique, however. With a strong smell of aromatic confectionaries, it also has a lovely crunchy, colorful topping for added texture! They also offer a "bag-o-doughnuts," and though I've yet to try it, it only comes in cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or plain, so I assume they're like the tiny donuts available at most state fairs and carnival events. They have an active Facebook page, as well as their own website, and have stated that they will have a more permanent presence in the city, on the corner of Washington and Alameda, starting June 12. We found their food truck at the Las Cruces Farmer's Market, and just had to try their doughnuts. We bought a dozen and wanted to try one of everything. They were really good, and I especially liked their cotton candy and maple flavors. I thought it was a fun coincidence that they are originally from Washington (hence the Washington license plates), as we were too and found ourselves in a different state meeting at a Farmer's Market.
