The difference between a good gym and a great gym is the COACHES! This is a GREAT Gym because the coaches are the best! These coaches get the most out of my son and grow his passion for the sport while keeping it fun.

I been there since I was a baby and now I'm a level 10 gymnast!! All the coaches there are very nice, kind and very helpful. I just like a wonderful second home. I have been and seen the incredible transformation of the gym! Much more bigger and a lot more space, I love it! I really love Metropolitan Gymnastics, I don't really know what I would do with out gymnastics in my life. One not this is I would like to give a big thanks to my awesome/cool coaches, Yulia, Guennadi, and Cathy for making me become a very great athlete and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next in my future! I just took the adult class for the first time, and it was so much fun! At first I was intimidated because the class is three hours, and we began by jump roping on a balance beam, but then we got right into using the rings and spinning around (with the guided help of Jeff, the great instructor). Then we did strength training and stretching, as strength and flexibility are certainly needed for gymnastics. Next we practiced cartwheels and round offs, and Jeff helped guide us into backflips! Next we did exercises against the wall and on the floor to build our strength to be able to do handstands, so we can practice and gain strength at home. After that we got to go on the trampoline and do a backflip in a harness (!), and try different jumps! At the end I really wanted to try jumping in the foam pit, so they let us do that, and I really wanted to try the vault so I just went for it. Jeff came over and showed us how to land properly and let us try a few more times even though the gym was closing. It was a great workout and so much fun to practice the mind-body connection and jump around! More...

I have to say, I was hesitant to bring our daughter here who has anxiety issues. This gym has a reputation for making great but hardcore gymnasts . We were worried coming here wouldn't be good for her. In the end it's VERY convenient for us. We decided to stick with just recreational gym at first but it only took a few months til we wanted to jump in with both feet. EVERY single coach and staff member is absolutely amazing, well trained and they know gymnastics. The transition has been wonderful. They keep you well informed with emails. Extra Costs are laid out up front and in convenient payment plans. Our daughter has had hard days but they keep her going and praise her when she pulls through. They work her very hard which is good for her but also necessary to be the best gymnast. We couldn't be happier with this choice. Metro is THE only choice for gymnastics in all King county. You won't regret it for your hard core USAG gymnast male or female or your recreational gymnast. More...

This is the second gymnastics academy I've taken my boys to, and can confidently say it is the best one. Their classes are great, and the staff are sensitive to children with special needs. Good Job!

My family and I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend Metropolitan through my daughter Geneva Thompson. We were looking for another gym, and were a bit confused to committing to yet another gym financially, mentally, and socially.  My daughter had the drive and potential and the coaches picked up on it right away. During the 1st free trial week, I was convinced that Metropolitan was the gym for us because of a skill that Geneva was having difficulty with. She had achieved this skill by the end of the week! The professionalism and dedication only proved that the choice to attend Metropolitan was well founded. Injury is inevitable in any sport; we've had our share, but because of the coaches and the time they took with her through all of the lows kept Geneva inspired and focused. They truly exhibit how compassionate they are for this sport by sticking by her side through both the good and the bad times. Because of this, she has been able to improve and focus on her passion for gymnastics. At Metropolitan Coach Yulia and her staff of coaches, is well respected among college coaches. If the right people don't see you, how can you be acknowledged? In my family's' personal experience, we had multiple offers for Geneva to attend several different colleges. She has chosen the University of Washington and we feel the reason she received many offers, was because of the coaches, and their ability to teach the kids not only the fundamentals, but all the skills necessary to succeed in not just gymnastics but in life as well.  Because she is a Metropolitan graduate, she has a FREE lifetime membership to the gym, which is offered to all graduates! I recommend this gym to any and every parent who has a child who is thinking about gymnastics, or has a passion for gymnastics and wants to see their child succeed and have a clear path for their future. This place will work for their customers. I rented out the gym for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. I called and scheduled the date over a month in advance, for Saturday at 4pm. The week before the party they call and confirm that our time is SUNDAY at 4pm. I tell them it isn't, and we'd like our Saturday time back, but they have someone else under that day and time and cannot give to us. Because of this, people couldn't show up to the party since they had it in their schedule for Saturday instead of Sunday, which includes people coming from out of state. Not only that, but the Seahawks game was at 5:30pm that day (there's no way I would have schedule the party that close to the game). In the end, we had a lower than expected turnout... a whole gym with not a lot of people. I raised the issue with management, who actually fought FOR ME with upper management as I made my case and they relayed it to the owners. They ended up refunding me some of the money, which I told them was fair.The gym itself is excellent. This is a quality facility. But remember, it is a gym, and it smells like one (you'll get used to it in 10 minutes)! The staff was excellent, helping out with the birthday party more than I expected. Very nice and professional. My daughter loves it here she always tumbles at home but was nervous to go to a gymnastics class. She cried in the car when I brought her here but after I convinced her to go in she wanted me to sign her up she had so much fun! Her favorite is Ms. Amy she made her feel so comfortable!!! All of the coaches listen and teach at a comfortable level. Only downfall is how crowded it is in there, especially the sitting area. But overall great place! More...

Kids love it and classes are fantastic for after school kids activities this is one of the best places in the area. Kids getting stronger every week and you can see results almost right away. Bad smell is of the things we don't like , I think owner needs to clean this place better then usual since dust is everywhere on the walls and stands, prizes section, pictures, etc. Over wise it is great place to involve the kids into sport instead of watching TVs and playing video games. Metropolitan has a phenomenal gymnastics program with coaches who are very educated about the sport of gymnastics. The staff is very nice and exceedingly interactive with the kids. The facility is wonderful, too!

My son is 10. We have been with the gym for 1 and a 1/2 years.    We started off slow but my son wanted more and turns out he's good. The coaches at metropolitan have brought my son from knowing nothing, to surprising us every meet. These coaches are amazing. He feels so lucky to be a part of PJ's level 5 team. We have been at Metropolitan gym for just under 6 months with my son and can honestly say thanks to a friends recommendation we have never felt justified in not only committing financially but mentally and socially to this institution who whole heartedly commit to the welfare, care and total being of children's gymnastic talents. Whether your child is good bad or indifferent the level of coaching bar any past disgruntled employees have been exemplary an I can only vouch for Coach Karen and Coach PJ who have shown nothing but utter professionalism and dedication to their lifelong career and their students who are acknowledged far and wide as representing the best of the best. My children have never done gymnastic classes there. But we have hosted several birthday parties and gone to open gym many times! For birthday parties it's a great deal ($175 I think) for 15 kids. You get the whole gym! I always ask that they don't play games with the kids. The kids only want to run around like crazy and do whatever they want!Open gym is great on rainy days! Metro is one of the best places I have trained at and I have had more great times here than I can count. The adult classes are amazing and this handsome devils, PJ and Peter are two of the most amazing coaches and guys I know. They know their stuff and helped me to train and learn any trick or technique I could ever want to learn. If I was having trouble with a trick they would talk to people, research, or come up with any way they could to help me get it. Their passion for the sport and to help people is second to none. Great place for mid-level plus gymnastics based on my experience with my two beginner girls. They do well pushing the kids with natural talent and drive to compete. My girls have been going here for almost a year and they do it mostly for fun and don't have interest in competing. They are getting bored due to lack of motivational support from the teachers to help push them to get to the next level. I'm pulling my girls out for a few months to hopefully renew their interest while they do fall sports and then we'll most likely be back to this gym. I do think it's good instruction and they've been improving their facility and adding fun meets to the mix for the students. More...

My home away from home. I can't speak for the kids classes (although I train with a Coach that is involved in the children's program) but, I love the adult classes. I workout with both adult instructors (Jeff and PJ) and am very happy with them. They both push me very hard but, are careful not to cause any injury. It's a great workout and well worth the drive I do from Bellevue. Both classes are great for long time gymnasts or beginners and the other students are very friendly to newcomers. More...

I LOVE this gym. The coaches are very welcoming and demand a high level of excellence from all of the gymnasts. When my daughter had hurdles to overcome (literally and metaphorically), the coaches taught her the techniques and gave her the confidence to overcome her personal obstacles and now she is vaulting faster, higher, and with more precision than ever. I am a vendor who has worked with Metro gym on various projects - they are a great partner to work with, hard working and creative. Owners put their heart and soul into their business and it shows - the facilities are beautiful and have Olympic-level equipment. Gymnastics Meets R Them.Usually very tightly run with decent raffle baskets (you'd be surprised how important a decent raffle basket is! ). Oh, and a giant human sized habitrail for board out of their little gourds brothers and sisters forced to attend yet another meet. So far, none of the children has actually turned into a giant gerbil, but I've heard stories of the little kiddos braining each other.When I'm competing level 4 in the 16-years and up age category, I know I'll take first place at the Bunny Hop and celebrate with an arm's length of tickets and a giant tube of sandy candy. Metro gym has always put out a pretty good boys team. That's really hard to find. They tend to hire Russian and Ukraine coaches who know quite a bit about the technique of the sport. There's a little lost in translation, though. But the boys learn the sport and do well at competition. More...
