I have always loved Pasta Tree, one of my go to places down on the East side. Very worth the drive from the suburbs. It is looking a bit tired so hopefully they can find the money to get new carpet, etc, but I'll go regardless!

A Tuesday evening out with family and the place was busy..... the pasta is always terrific and the sauces excellent .... we received attentive water refills, check ups on drinks and service..... Great server who offered a variety of wine suggestions when our preferred option was not available. Server was patient, informative and professional but the only one on for the whole restaurant! She did a great job, but perhaps a second server would be helpful to assist. Loved the ambiance! We tried the beet salad and it was robust with flavor. Also tried to entrees (a butternut squash ravioli and a ricotta type dish with lamb, believe). We had a great time here! We are from out of town and the pasta was delicious. The wine selection was wonderful & the staff was very welcoming. Loved the bread too!The only thing was they appeared understaffed as the host was also the waiter to every table in the restaurant, the bartender and the bus person. He was a one man show! We felt bad so we didn’t want to ask him to do one more thing but he was super nice and as attentive as he could be given his many roles!Great restaurant! The food and service were excellent. It’s a nice hole in the wall to speak and we enjoyed the take the chef had on traditional dishes. The bearded greeter was dressed like he was going to clean the garage with a sports hat on. He should have had on a dress shirt with a tie and no hat. This was inappropriate for the initial experience of entering one of Milwaukee's finest restaurants. Pasta tree has a fabulous menu. We hadn't been there in more than 5 years. I noticed the decor needs an update. The vintage chairs at the tables are starting to be old and rickety. The chair I had was actually wobbly. Areas of the wall were in serious need of new painting (there was a painted pipe that was literally peeling paint). The food is always great, but the restaurant needs a complete refresh in terms of decor. We will still go back, but offering gentle suggestion to improve this restaurant. More...

Great pasta options. Delicious!! For those who prefer meat with the pasta, the options are minimal. So if you're looking for meat with pasta on the side, such as veal parmesan, you'll need to dine elsewhere.

Went to The Pasta Tree to celebrate my birthday with friends and the server was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. She was very knowledgeable in the special menu and that day's offerings as well as pairings for cocktails with our dishes. Will definitely go back soon.

We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The food was incredible. We both had one of the specials. I had butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sage sauce and my boyfriend had the scallop special. My boyfriend and I agreed that the butternut squash ravioli was INCREDIBLE. The stuffed squash flowers which were perfectly done, tender and moist inside and crispy outside. The sauce was flavorful, but did not override the squash flowers. The shrimp linguine was done perfectly, as well, with a lovely garlicky flavor and plenty of parmesan on top. Service was attentive and friendly. We had a very nice dinner. We ate in the 'secret garden'. The tag team servers were very attentive and the food was good as well. My husband would have a preferred a larger portion of his mahi mahi, he ended up eating 1/2 of my carbonara. The tables and chairs in the garden are made for small, short people, so by the time he tried to stand up, his knees were a little stiff. The young couple next to us had the same issue.
