Both my kids have attended tutoring and ACT prep at Meri Education in Riverside. We have always had helpful tutors, convenient scheduling and tons of support. Through their ACT PREP class, my daughter was able to raise her ACT score by several points qualifying her for a higher level grant. Currently my son is attending tutoring at Meri Riverside for pre-calculus. His first pre-calc test prior to tutoring was a 59%. He has been seeing his tutor once a week and he earned an 85% on his second test and is shooting for an A on the next one! We highly recommend MeriEducation!  Our son wanted to try to improve his SAT score after taking it and not getting a score he felt good about.  Friends recommended MeriEducation in Pasadena. We were not disappointed.  MeriEducation has a great program that starts with having separate one-on-one tutors for the English (Jordan) and Math (Farrah) sections of the SAT who really helped him focus on each of these areas.  Our son's tutors were energetic, knowledgeable and very encouraging. Since MeriEducation requires that all the tutors have to have personally scored a very high score on the SAT - you can be confidant they will be good. They spent time with our son going over the MeriEducation custom curriculum to review knowledge needed for the SAT and gave him test taking strategies.   A key part of the program is taking regular practice SAT tests at the Center that are proctored/timed.  Following each test our son's tutors reviewed the incorrect answers with him.  After each tutoring session the parents receive a session update that tells you what was accomplished in the session and how they are doing.  They are very professional.  Our son liked going to the MeriEducation Pasadena Center very much - very modern, bright, clean, with lots of positive energy. Highly recommend for SAT Prep! They teach both the substantive subjects and testing techniques. Pricey but truly worth it - we found out about Meri from a satisfied parent and in turn recommend Meri to others.  They helped our youngest child go from slightly below average on the PSAT to slightly above average on the first SAT try to top 20 percent on the second SAT try. MeriEducation is a wonderful establishment and a dream come true!  We needed some help reinforcing Math....I sadly couldn't do it and needed help. ...BADLY!! MeriEducation to the rescue!!They were able to help us! Jocelyn and Katie were very helpful and efficient! MeriEducation has made a remarkable difference in my 7 year old daughter's progress and attitude toward math! I actively sought out tutoring for my daughter because I was concerned about her growing fear and dislike for math.  We feel so blessed to be matched up with Joslyn who is the perfect fit for our daughter! Not only is Joslyn very gentle and patient, she tutors math in the most engaging and interactive way. We have been extremely pleased with our daughter's math tutor, Jocelyn.  She is very knowledgeable and is able to help her better understand topics which require further review in her accelerated math program.  Jocelyn's ability to ascertain whether our daughter truly understands the material being covered is exactly what we had hoped for when we looked around for a tutor.  The 45 minutes every week is time very well spent going over material and ensuring she's ready for quizzes and tests.  Additionally, Katie, our coordinator, is very responsive and checks in on us regularly.  We definitely highly recommend MeriEducation Pasadena! There's not enough words to describe how much I love MeriEducation. I originally began working with them for  SAT tutoring(shouts to Sean P, you rock dude) where after 8 weeks of home tutoring my SAT score went from an 1180 to a 1380! Their customer service is seriously outstanding and after chatting with Marianna about my scores and the colleges I wanted to attend she hooked me up with a free college app workshop in Riverside where I finally got the inspiration to start my essays! 2 days ago I went to another college workshop, this one in Redlands, and Joan(the sweetest person ever) got my 3 personal insight questions all cut down to size, helped me fix silly mistakes within my UC up, and helped me to solidify what to write my 4th essay about. After trying out two other tutoring centers, I was highly recommended MeriEducation by a friend. The vibe in the Pasadena center is very unique and engaging. My children have been going for test prep and math; both really like their tutors, finding them to be energetic and encouraging.Katie H. has been very accommodating in helping me put together a schedule and I appreciate that we can get a late or weekend session, if needed.As a parent, I greatly appreciate the progress reports that are emailed after each session, which details what they worked on, suggestions/tips on study ideas and future plans. We are having the BEST experience with Merieducation! Our son is a junior and started using Merieducation for SAT test prep. His scores have gone up substantially since starting the program. They have a friendly, engaging and professional staff that have encouraged our son to perform well on his exam. Their approach combines subject review in addition to test taking strategies.  Our son enjoyed working with the tutors so much, that we had them start to also help with school classes and have seen an improvement in his GPA, and over comfort level with the subjects.He typically goes into the center, which is very modern, and friendly, however if he has a tough homework assignment that he needs help with, he has used the online tutoring also.We are so happy with Merieducation that we plan on having them also tutor our Sophomore daughter, who is a strong AP student, but would like to get the best score possible for the SATs. We are using Meri for PSAT test prep.  I can't say enough great things about them.  I heard about them from another mom.  Katie is my point person and she is very knowledgeable and a great communicator.  We are using Agnes for English and Joseph for Math.  My son (15) was originally reluctant about having the extra work, but all the people there were on my team helping him understand the value of the time and effort.  After a few sessions he is actually really enjoying his time there, and sees how it is helping him not only with testing but also in his school work (which he was already doing great in, but now is doing even better).  He likes his tutors and respects them.I haven't felt any pressure at all to spend a certain amount of money.  Meri has online booking which is convenient for me to look and see what we can do that fits our schedule.  I book the tutoring on a week by week basis.  I do it a few weeks in advance in order to get times that are best for us.I've been grateful for the time that Katie and Agnes have spent with me and my son explaining how the testing process works and what we need to do to help him earn his highest possible score, since he has certain schools he really wants to get into that are very difficult to gain entrance to.The atmosphere is engaging and comfortable. I feel like Katie gave me a lot of extra time on the phone explaining the process and I really appreciated that.  She texts me each week to make sure things are going well.  After each tutoring session I receive an email from the tutor that tells me what they went over and even includes how my son was responding to the session from their perspective. With so many test prep center to choose from , we are certainly very lucky to have found merieducation Katie our coordinator help us along the way to arrange for tutor sessions for ISEE prep and just after one class my daughter tells me immediately she likes it a lot since finally someone is showing her the right way to take the test her reading comprehension improved so much that I really want to thank everyone here how much we appreciate the confidence michelle gained from hereI recommend even if your kids are not doing test prep but if they are just stucked on math or English homework they should just come and get tutoring here

This is a great place and the teachers (Joseph, Jocelyn, and Aguns) are great teachers. There really good at explaining things and make the classes really fun. They don't give that much homework so that way people can balance out schoolwork. You can also book your own time so that's why it's really nice since the teacher's schedule are flexible. More...

I never get to escape MeriEducation, in the best way possible! Originally coming from the 626 area, my family and I tended to move pretty frequently. I moved to Culver City in the middle of the school year and ended up being pretty behind with the math material. I found Meri on yelp and was pleased to see that they offered online tutoring! I met with Jocelyn twice a week and she was fantastic! I've never met anyone so passionate about teaching math! My family has officially moved to Philly due to my parents' job. However, I still have the opportunity to meet with Jocelyn online! There are so many options for tutoring in the san Gabriel valley and LA that it's so hard to pick a place. I needed to find a place that could offer the flexibility of online or in home while still offering quality services. I found that at merieducation. I was studying for my GRE while working full time and needed to find tutors that could work with my schedule. In home tutoring given my distance wasn't ideal but I got set up with tutors online. I met with Joseph and Agnes online and they exceeded my expectations as tutors. Truly the best of the best in their subject areas. Four stars because online tutoring comes with its occasional flaws like getting your mic and webcam to work when you want it to. My husband and I take the kids out to vacation in LA for the summertime, but we don't believe in all play and no work!  Coming from NYC, we are used to having our children get tutored in our home.  It's more convenient for us and our schedules.  I was searching for tutors that could come to our vacation home in the late afternoons to tutor the kids and keep them sharp during our stay.  3 months off school is not ideal for our young ones, so we decided to do some digging with the in-home options in our area.  After visiting MeriEducation's website, I filled out a quick form to opt for more information.  Within the hour, I received a call from one of the managers, Justin.  He was informative, helpful, and let us know about our options for in-home tutoring.  During that call, we were able to get our first session set up.  Some feedback:1. Our tutor was punctual and professional. He arrived at least 10 minutes early to each session we scheduled. He came prepared to each session with his own materials for instruction.2. Since we're able to split the time between our kids, he would spend 45-minutes with each of them, tailoring each of their sessions to their grade level and needs.  We appreciated this, as each of our kids respond better to individual instruction, whereas we've had experiences before where our tutors are trying to see both kids at the same time, and it just doesn't work out attention-wise.3. We received an in-person update AND an online update each time!  I know the tutoring is happening in-home in our presence, but it's refreshing to find a place that keeps you in the loop.Now, having returned home, I am able to still reference the progress we have made during the summer to pass along to our regular tutors.  Justin checked in along the way to ensure things were going well, and even now, having been home for almost a month, he still checks in to make sure the kids are thriving.  Thanks, Justin and MeriEd for your services this summer!  We'll definitely be back next year. AP Stats is such an annoying class. The school year started off rough but i needed to get A's to maintain my GPA and so I could get a 5 on the AP test. I came to the conclusion that i would need some help. I decided to go with Meri since my classmate recommended it. Unfortunately, they were pretty limited with their tutor availability and only had one stats tutor, Justin, available and since the tutor was an admin and visited other centers throughout the week, we would have our sessions online. I wasn't sure how it was going to be since I wanted to meet in-person but whatever I was down for anything at this point. After my first session, I was super surprised about how smooth the online session conducted. We were able to write on an online whiteboard and i was able to share documents through the app so he knew what i was working on. I met with him throughout the year for one session a week but if i had a test coming up, I would just request an extra session. I was able to reschedule sessions too which was nice since my volleyball/dance schedule would sometimes change. In the end, i did get my A's and my 5! I couldn't be happier. The 4 stars is mainly because we were unable to meet in person which is what i preferred and since Justin was the only tutor available for stats, i had to adjust my schedule to meet him at times but in the end i'm happy with the results. This place does everything!!! I needed help prepping for my ACT. DONE. I needed help with my AP Calculus class. DONE. I needed help with my college application essays. ALMOST DONE. They are currently helping me with those right now. Without them I would've been completely lost since I'm the first in my family to apply to college. MeriEducation is awesome! I can't tell you how happy we are with their in-home tutoring service and how I wish we found them sooner.  Joan was so good at finding the perfect tutor for my daughter and she's been doing so well with her in home sessions. It's great seeing how excited she is about learning and seeing her progress. Her tutor goes above and beyond. She always comes focused, prepared with a lesson plan, and finds ways to make learning fun, which to me is the most important! And the best part is she also follows up with emails after each session! Even though I'm present for each one, it's so nice getting a follow-up email listing exactly what was covered during each session and what my daughter learned. I was referred to MeriEducation by my mom's friend but was reluctant to try it out since I lived all the way in corona. Getting to the location took quite some time and I didn't want to be late to any of my sessions. An employee, Justin had let me know of some alternatives to in-center tutoring. MeriEducation offered me in-house tutoring with a great tutor, Sean, as well as online tutoring with a tutor from any center! Never thought I would say this, but my brother loves getting tutored here! He always had difficulty focusing and understanding some concepts, but now he's finally getting the hang of things. My daughter needed help with the ISEE and I didn't like how other tutoring places didn't have their own lesson books. They were just using those Ivy Global books off of Amazon, which I tried with my older daughter and it didn't work. When Merieducation did a meeting with me and showed me that the wrote their own curriculum, I was super impressed. My daughter just started prep but I know she will do well for her November ISEE because the tutor and one-on-one attention is going to really help. I get a session update after every session. The appointment system can be a little complicated to find the class needed but everyone is very helpful. If you do get an appointment it's worth the money and they will help you with SAT problems as well as ACT. Currently doing SAT preparation here. Tutors and manager keeps me accountable to my homework, taking test, and coming in for sessions. Sometimes they tell me to just come into the center to study for free. MeriEducation is nothing like any other SAT prep school, the tutors are knowledgeable, they are passionate and they make the work fun. Joan was my personal tutor and helped me with my college applications. Beyond the 1-1 writing sessions, she would also text to check in with my progress. If it were possible I would I would give merieducation 10 stars! I am in 8th grade, I went to merieducation for tutoring in math. My grade in math started off as a D- and they helped me raise it to an A-. In my math class at school I didn't understand anything that they were teaching but when I started going to meri education it all started to click. It is also really nice because the tutors are very with flexible schedules. At merieducation the tutors don't only teach you they believe in you too. My family and I love this place! 3 of my children (3rd grade, 6th grade, and 10th) have been coming here for almost a year. The tutors here are  engaging, knowledgeable and all around awesome! Through MeriEducation, my children have gained confidence in themselves and have been inspired to do better. The tutors treat each child with respect and challenge them to reach their potential. I also like that the tutors send me an update after each tutoring session so that I am looped in on what they covered. "My daughter goes to Poly High school and is an active swimmer, so her schedule is really crazy. Most tutoring places can't accommodate her schedule because they are closed on the weekends or close early on weekdays. My daughter can get late night appointments at the Riverside office and can just text in to ask for an appointment. One time, she couldn't get an appointment and they scheduled an online session for her with a tutor at another center in Redlands. They always tried their best to accommodate my daughter and me. Excellent tutoring center! MeriEducation Riverside is a perfect one stop shop that provides assistance from grade school tutoring all the way to college applications. Every tutor I've interacted with has been knowledgeable and very resourceful when it comes to problem solving and tips for advanced learning. This pasadena location is everything my family needed. We went to many other places and none of them were able to offer what merieducation does. They get down to the the problem and work out a plan to have you kid improve. Our tutor really cares and is excited about helping. Staff is super friendly. Great communication. Merieducation is the best!  My husband, daughter and myself first had an initial interview with Joan, the owner and was so taken with her professionalism, knowledge and sincere concern with helping our daughter with her difficulties in  math.  Even though my husband was reluctant to hire a tutor, after our meeting, he was completely on board!  Jeanne is the BEST, and has turned a C- to a B+, or A, not sure waiting on report card.  We highly recommend merieducation, it's definitely worth the money, every cent!!!   By the way, my daughter actually looks forward to her sessions with Jeanne! I had been stressing over college applications for the past couple of weeks with the November 1st deadline approaching really soon. My grades had started to slip with all this stress piling up in both math and physics. Luckily a friend of mine recommended me to Alex here at MeriEducation. Alex was able to tutor me in both subjects and my chapter test grade has gone up drastically since my last test. He usually breaks down difficult concepts into simpler models, which is definitely more helpful than the dense pictures my teacher uses. Coming here also helped me with the college application process thanks to Jose and his educational consultations.
