It feels like the Peninsula Spa! The best massage I ever had and I get them weekly for the 4 years I have been here. The Club's staff and amenities are so unique and so courteous, I cannot stop coming back!

Starting coming here a little over a month ago. I was looking for a nice gym with nice locker rooms and amenities . Was thinking about Equinox but I don't have a great corporate discount so would have been so expensive for one of the "less nice" locations. I came across this gym because I was obsessed with the Mercedes House (apartment building). So one day I came over to check out the apartment and ended up not liking the apartment so much (1 bed was very small) but really liking the gym. There was a special going on where I sign up for a 1 year contract and get 2 months free. So the price was right for me, the location was close, they opened early enough for me, so did some more research and ended up joining with Dominique, who was so nice . I at first was nervous to sign a 1 year contract, or any contract at all for that matter, since I had been burned before. She said I could try out the gym a few times before I joined officially. She really made me comfortable with everything so decided to go for it!Pros: nice gym/equipment, nice people who work there, indoor lap pool w/hot tub, sauna, steam room , nice shampoo, shaving cream, body wash, lotion, they have disposable razors, citibike station opening a block away (soon), lots of activities to participate in Con: classes don't start until 7am on weekdays (would love a 6:30 or 6:45am class), conditioner in the shower is not great, very west for most people, 1 year contract One of the perks when you sign up is you get a free personal training session. I got paired with Kesha who was so great. She took the time to speak with me and get to know my fitness level before showing me a few good workouts to do. The staff was great, always making sure we get the most out of the club as best as they can accommodate. Some of the classes are tough, but the teachers are very aware of the new students and will adapt to all levels. Clean facilities, simple locker system, pool table, 2 studios, weightlifting space, boxing room, spin, 3 lane pool, Jacuzzi, dry/wet sauna, free towels, and a bunch of other things make this place great. This is a good gym. For what you pay you get ample floor space and equipment, pleasant and clean surroundings, and it's never crowded. Even at peak hours it's not hard to get equipment or find space, and since I usually work out at midday weekday hours, I practically have the whole place to myself. The indoor pool and hot tub are nice, and the steam rooms smell of eucalyptus. There are some downsides, though. The showers could use a little TLC - dirty grouting, loose / reversed handles, etc. The sauna is never very warm. The price of the outdoor pool is completely ridiculous when you consider that your monthly membership is already nearly $200, and they don't offer a day rate, so it's either pay $500 for the season or don't use it. I've dealt with at least one very rude front desk person who seemed annoyed when I asked about day rates for the pool, and rolled her eyes when explaining they don't offer it.I'm also not a huge fan of yearly contracts and think all gyms should be month to month from the minute you sign up, but I accepted those terms anyway when joining.Compared to the average Equinox, which is overcrowded and (as recently revealed) embroiled in problematic politics from its majority shareholder, or the flaming dumpster fire that is TMPL (now sadly rebranded as an NYSC), this is the your best gym option on the west side. Beautiful large club, all the machines you need, the pool area is clean and perfectly oriented for a nice tan. Other members are nice and discreet. There is a boxing area where you can go anytime to hit the bag. The staff is friendly. The staff are amazing!! The reception such as Fran and Freddy etc are super friendly, the cleaning staff like Angelita and Romano etc are always happy and work so hard. The guys on the floor like Terrel and Andrew etc are friendly and keep things in there place to create a great environment. The instructors like L.R, Heather, Declin and Shayne etc are awesome and Tym in the spa gives an amazing massage! Goes without saying that the management team rock! I just cannot reiterate enough how incredible this gym is. The amenities are beyond wonderful, from the outdoor space to the steam room. The equipment is state-of-the-art, never too crowded, and always clean. The staff is not just kind, but extremely accommodating. There's even a wine bar. You could easily spend all day there, doing work at the tables, taking a class, doing a work out, and hitting the pool. The Club is my favorite perk in all of New York. Money well spent. More...

I just moved into Mercedes House as of last week and was super excited to signing up for the resident membership for this club! From the reviews, as well as what my new roommates have told me about the club, it's 100% all inclusive and equipped with state-of-the-art exercise machinery. The day after moving in I made sure to make my way to the gym early to experience what they had to offer myself.The health club is situated on one main floor within the building. The east half encompasses the gym, pool, locker rooms, basket ball court, and cycling studio. The west side contains the lounge space, a food/smoothie bar, yoga studio, and the billiards area. There are also two outdoor spaces, one which contains the pool and the other with provides additional lounge space for club members.At 8 AM on a Saturday there weren't that many people at the club. The staff was super welcoming and I was able to use various cardio machines and the free weights without having to wait for someone to finish with them. The gym space is also adorned with floor to ceiling windows which allows a lot of natural light to flow in which is really enjoyable. Residents get a special monthly membership price of $95/month as of June 2019. In all honesty it's worth the price for what you get. Use of all facilities, complimentary towels, and unlimited classes make this the perfect place for a convenient workout while keeping you engaged with fellow residents. I have been a member of the Mercedes Club for going on four years. The staff at the gym is courteous and helpful. They always greet me with a smile. Hershey and G respond to emails and answer my questions with quick response time. Mercedes is more than a gym. They have member appreciation event. From snow cones on hot summer days to wine and trivia nights. In addition to a gym, indoor/outdoor pool, there are also classes, a sauna, and a spa to get a massage. I have been a member of Mercedes Club for almost a year. It was the best decision I have made living in NYC! I wish I had joined sooner! The club feels like a hidden oasis in this concrete jungle. The staff is remarkable and the service is top level. I have been working out with a personal trainer for the past six months and Noi is incredible. She is motivating and supportive. Mercedes Club offers a ton of different classes, gym equipment, weights, an indoor lap pool, pool table, out door pool and open space to work or hang out. There is an amazing smoothie bar inside for your post-workout pick me up (I recommend the '8th Ave' acai bowl!). The complex is beyond clean and supplies towels, yoga mats, pool towels, etc. The locker rooms have clean showers, a steam room and sauna. You really feel like you are working out in a luxury hotel. I am so sad to be moving from NYC and to be leaving this amazing facility. If you live anywhere near this incredible gym, please schedule a tour ASAP! You will not regret it! More...

I lived at Mercedes House for 2.5 years and loved going to the Mercedes Club while there. This gym is huge and includes a yoga room, outdoor plaza, indoor and outdoor pool and steam room! The personal trainers helped me stay on my game while pregnant and post-baby too so I could snap back into shape quickly. Love love love this gym with all of the space, equipment, exercise options and all of the staff. Very friendly but not too friendly. I love going to the gym and zoning everything out and this place was a great escape for me. The only downside for me is the Mercedes House and the Mercedes Club are not as child friendly as I would have liked (very limited pool hours and no playroom for kids) but their set up still appeals to a lot of people. I love this gym. I workout on my lunch break and I have everything I need to get ready to get back to work. They even have razors and shaving cream. I love the sauna and steam room with eucalyptus. The jacuzzi is very relaxing. I love all the classes and the variety they offer. Also, they have the sushi bar with wine and now the have vegan options too. Also, it’s extremely clean and the staff is very friendly. I also like that they offer movie nights in the summer, the outdoor pool for summer time, and the other activities and seminars for members. Wish it was closer to my house, but it’s convenient at the time since it’s 2 blocks from my job and I can workout on my lunch break. More...

This is a place where perfectionism and service come together. The staff truly care and are very kind. The facilities are state of the art with an upscale clientele. The massage therapists and the facials are better that both of the well established places in NYC that I have gone for years. Very competitive prices. I strongly recommend Tym and Afra. For years, I had resisted a consistent workout, until I finally found the Mercedes Club. Not only is the gym fabulous, clean, and state-of-the art, but the amenities are incredible: free classes, sauna and steam room, indoor and outdoor pools, wine bar/smoothie/juice bar, and great areas to hang out, play pool, and do some work. I love love love Mercedes Club. I was recommended this club by a coworker of mine about a year ago. I was pretty out of shape (at least that's what I felt like) and knew I needed to make a change. I knew I didn't want to go to a $30/month club because I wouldn't feel compelled to go. I scheduled a visit to Mercedes Club and met with Hershey who was so great and informative! She was very prompt in meeting with me and gave me a great tour of the entire club, facilities and amenities they offered. I knew I wanted to sign up right away after seeing how much natural light it got and how airy it felt. The amount of classes that Mercedes offers is wonderful! I was able to throw myself in Rope Burn, Boxing, Advanced Boxing, TRX and many more that I can't seem to name. The jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and dry sauna area is just as wonderful. I'm so sad to be leaving Mercedes due to a recent move and the commute would be extremely out of the way for me. However, if I ever return to the west side, I'm definitely rejoining Mercedes. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this fitness club for all your fitness needs and goals! More...
