Tthe pizza was amazing and wings were amazing.  We got pepperoni with extra cheese and we all were thrilled with the flavor!  We had a bunch of girls hanging out and we had pizza, wings and mozzarella cheese delivered.  Both the pizza and wings (medium) were perfect and every one of us agreed.  Only mistake was we asked for the raspberry dipping sauce and marinara sauce for the mozzarella cheese and we asked for paper plates and neither came.  However, we got over that disappointment really quick when we started digging in.  Everything was perfect - pizza hot and cheesy, lots of blue cheese and the marinara sauce made up for the raspberry sauce missing.  We all enjoyed it very much!  Thank you. My wife and stopped her last night, kind of last minute. To be honest, we were a little hesitant because we went to Mercato's in Delmar a few months ago and we were not impressed with the atmosphere or the service. We figured we'd try this one and glad we did!!This may very well be our new go-to spot. The moment we walked in the atmosphere blew us away. Very beautiful and relaxing and immediately greeted. We sat in a spacious booth and the waiter was extremely nice and pleasant. He took our drink order and had them to us quickly with bread and butter. We placed an appetizer order and dinner order. Our app (bruschetta) came out within 10mins and was delicious. Dinner came out about 15mins after that. We ordered a small pizza and the sausage and peppers dinner. The food was hot, looked delicious and tasted amazing. Our server was quick to refill our drinks and had a smile the whole time. I'd highly recommend this place to friends and family but only the one in the Latham. As I mentioned before, Delmar was not as good of an experience. More...

I used this restaurant for a catering event last night and would highly recommend this service. The prices and food are much better than the pizza places that offer catering. The food was fresh, tasteful, and delivered hot and on time. Everyone I dealt with from placing my order to the delivery driver were extremely professional. I would highly recommend the catering service from the restaurant. They catered a very special event for my family and did an excellent job. The food is excellent and much better than the majority of pizza places that advertise catering.  The prices are very good. They arrived right on time. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and professional. The catering selections were plentiful with vegetarian options. The only small issues that I had is there were no condiments with the sandwich's. Serving utensils would have been needed if we were not at my home. Just small things so overall I would highly recommend this restaurant and will use them in the future. More...

Originally going to Red Front for pizza. They were closed so we headed back to Latham. I suggested Mercato’s because we haven’t been there since they renovated. Our waiter was Marco. Personable, professional and knowledgeable of the menu. Word to the wise: come hungry and expect to leave full, with lunch or dinner for tomorrow (maybe both) I started with a cup of their New England Clam Chowder. Rich and creamy, with a generous amount of fresh chopped clams. The celery was crisp, the potatoes soft but still firm enough. Delicious! Our appetizer was the fried calamari. It was a whole plate of perfectly breaded and fried rings and tentacles. The marinara on the side was sweet and tomatoey without overpowering the squid or pulling the breading off. The house salad was pretty much a generic house salad. Nothing special but the greens were fresh as were the tomato slices. The creamy house Italian was good but the balsamic vinaigrette was the better of the two, IMHO. Our entree’s: my mother got the Chicken Marsala over penne. The pasta was done perfectly al dente, and the Marsala sauce was clingy to the chicken and mushrooms without drowning the dish. A delicate balance of wine, salt and pepper seasoning that all complimented each other. I got the seafood medley fra diavalo over capellini. Calamari, clams, mussels, and shrimp. As someone who routinely overcooks seafood, I can totally appreciate the talents of anyone that can crank out a dish of assorted seafood without any of it being overdone. My plate was a work of culinary art! The shrimp were firm but tender, the scallops buttery, melt in your mouth soft, the mussels and clams like small ladles full of fra diavalo goodness. The sauce! Fresh garlic slivers accented crushed tomatoes with just enough hest to let you know this means business, but doesn’t make you want to gulp water to extinguish the flames. At the bottom of my plate, nothing but capellini. No wading pool of water (a personal pet peeve) just pasta, baby!Certainly a hidden gem for Italian faire in Latham. Can’t wait to go back! More...

Love this place! As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is beautiful and the Italian music playing softly. Our waiter was amazing and the food was delicious! I had Veal gorgonzola and it was the most tender veal I have had. Flavored with red peppers, spinach, in a pink gorgonzola sauce. My two friends also were very happy with their meals. Great italian food! Coming from an Italian family, we are picky about Italian restaurants. I love the calamari! It's a good appetizer to share. Really enjoyed the pizza. The crust was perfect and I like when I am able to have ricotta cheese put on it. My family definitely loves this place. Prices are decent. The only down side is parking. Finding a spot at times is diffucult as the restaurant is in Peter Harris Plaza and is right near a very popular Mexican restaurant. More...

Located in Peter Harris Plaza . A bustling strip Mall we chose to eat here as we were in the mood for Italian food. We were not disappointed. Nicely decorated inside with white lights and decor, this place is large. Not too busy on a Friday night, we were seated at a nice corner table. We started with wine, beer and an order of fried calamari for the table. Crunchy, thick rings flash fried and a bowl of delicious marinara sauce for dipping. Very good. There were 4 of us tonight. I opted for chicken franchise which was off the menu but they made it anyhow for me and it was superb. I'd get that again. Ordered a side of capellini with olive oil  and garlic. Also came with a tossed Salad.  Their house dressing is a must. Other entrees we ordered were sausage and peppers with ziti, chicken piccata and a clam and bacon pizza. All very good. Excellent Italian restaurant that we just discovered! Wide ranging menu from pizza to veal to seafood. I had terrific chicken piccata, my husband had a tasty unusual veal dish. Really 3.5 Stars but rounded up because we have only tried four dishes --no apps, pizzas, or desserts.Second visit here in three month period because I liked the Eggplant Parmesan.  Eggplant is sliced thin and dipped in flour, then egg.  Excellent.  Pasta is not homemade.  Sauce is good not great..My husband's Seafood Combo dish was overpowered by the heavy tomato sauce. We think it would have been better with the alternative white wine sauce listed on the menu.  It was not as good as the Seafood Fra Diavolo we have had at other restaurants in area. The bread is served warm and "toasted," but it tasted stale on both visits.  The crust crumbles.  I wonder what it would taste like at room temp.  A decent salad is included in the cost of the entree which is nice. They serve draft Peroni which contributed to the upgrade in stars.The service is good but not great.  Sufficient servers but had to ask for refills on water.The 70's music was blaring too loudly until someone must have asked for the volume to be toned down.We think there is better Italian food served in Schenectady. Wow!  What a delicious meal we all had. Lobster ravioli, shrimp parm, pasta Alfredo and chicken Gorgonzola.  Not one disappointing dish in the bunch.  The special winter cocktails were fabulous.I ordered the winter cosmo, but I would like to go back and have a "white Christmas".  Staff was very accommodating to our large table and all food was served hot and perfectly prepared.This is definitely a place a will be coming back to soon!!!  Great night out!! During a very quick trip to the area we stopped in for dinner at Mercato's lll. The restaurant has a great reputation with the locals and we were in the mood for some good authentic Italian food. For starters we had the calamari. It was tender with a light crispy coating. We loved it. For entrees we both picked comfort food. The chicken parm did not disappoint. The chicken was moist and the light breading did not overwhelm the meat. It had a perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The chicken scaloppini is a must order. It is prepared with artichokes, red pepper, garlic and spinach sautéed in sherry and finished with a small amount of marinara. The combination of flavors is delicious. More...

We were introduced to Mercato's III by friends last December. It was under renovation then, but that didn't interfere with a good first impression. This year's visit was an opportunity to treat some other friends from Hyde Park, NY. Our group of four included our friend who had recently retired from the CIA (admissions & student aid). But she knows what is demanded by her former employer re: food, drink, & service. We arrived around 5:15pm and the restaurant had few customers, but would fill half the tables when we left at 7:30pm.   Now to the wine & food. Eggplant Rolettini ($10.) was prepared correctly and was sufficient for four. Spedinis & chicken wings are also offered. Something for everybody from their extensive wine collection. House wines by the glass $7.00 each. One diner had chicken orzo soup (du jour), one had pasta e fagioli. Dinners come with garden salad & bread. The three dinners were chicken piccata, chicken francaise, & veal parmigiana. All where well prepared, served hot, and brought to the table together. Our entrees were $19.00 each. There was plenty to take home for another time. One tiramisu for dessert. Our waiter was Alija. He was more than helpful and cheerfully met all our requests.   And even though this restaurant is in a strip mall, the interior is very comfortable and welcoming. The women did comment on the cleanliness of the restrooms.   Total bill for one app, three entrees, five wines, one soup & salad, one dessert was $142.50.   So good value with very good food and service. Just had dinner there tonight on Restaurant Week (first time visitors). They had a wonderful and diverse menu. They certainly did not skimp on portions for Restaurant Week. Their regular menu also looks divine. Our waiter, Almir, was super. You could not have asked for a more pleasant and efficient waiter. The atmosphere is also very pleasing. They are starting a lunch buffet also and they have a $22 special on Tuesday and Wednesday. All three meals were delicious, chick parm, steak, and linguine with clams.
