When my wife and I discussed renovating our contemporary townhouse we considered designers and chose Meera because we liked what we read about her style, both design-wise and her interaction with clients. We are so glad that we did. Meera took our initial vison and developed an innovative design that completely transformed our home into a light, open and airy space that we just love! Meera prepared three designs, taking our thoughts, needs and wants into account, and we were excited about the most innovative option. Meera connected us with a talented contractor and a custom cabinet maker, both of whom loved the project, and who improved the result based on their thoughtful input and exacting attention to detail. We appreciated Meera's open communication and flexibility when we had questions and thoughts along the way. Meera found materials, color schemes and design details that added polish and interest to the result. Meera is well-organized and follows-through and worked with us to coordinate with our work schedules. She is also a genuinely nice person. Meera Thomas was an absolute delight to work with on a range of projects. I’m happy to recommend her to anyone who wants stylish and functional designs aligned with their personal taste.
From the start, she keenly understood what my husband and I were looking for, and took our ideas to the next level, incorporating global influences that added a distinctive feel we didn’t get from other interior designers. We only wish she had done the interior of the house when we first bought it!
Our first project was a modification of the sitting room to make it more inviting and functional. Not only did Meera make very practical suggestions, but she worked with much of what we already had, so that the final design was both gorgeous and aligned with what our own aesthetic. Importantly for us, it was also cost-effective. After many years of not really using the space, we have already enjoyed several gatherings there with our friends.
Our next project was the wine cellar, starting from scratch. My husband and I had some ideas of our own and Meera ably incorporated them into a fabulous concept. She then introduced us to an experienced, detailed-oriented contractor to realize it—having one team to do everything rather than having to coordinate with different electricians, plumbers and carpenters was ideal. Meera also helped us choose beautiful materials that did not break the bank, and guided us towards items that would not fall out of fashion in a season. The result is a classic and original space that we look forward to enjoying for years to come.
The spa is the latest project and we are very pleased with how that turned out, especially since it involved a rework to incorporate new ideas my husband and I had mid-construction. Meera helped us select the sauna and some lovely and practical tiling, and was very flexible in redesigning what had been closet space. She guided the contractor to make the necessary modifications and ensured the final result was wonderful. Our beautiful spa, which includes an infra-red sauna and stretching area, has truly become a haven for the whole family.

Let me start by saying that Meera Thomas is excellent to work with. We decided to expand our condo unit (buying part of the condo unit next door with our neighbor on the other side). We de-cided to also do some rearranging of our kitchen area, laundry area, master bedroom, living area and den/2nd bedroom. The only thing we did not change were the bathrooms as they were already perfectly fine. Meera had excellent interior design ideas. She made my wife and I consider new ideas and color schemes ...many of which we decided to go with and which turned out beautifully! Meera was also accepting of our thoughts and ideas. We had an excellent working arrangement. During the construction phase my wife and I did need to move out. One of the very nice things that Meera offered was that any new furniture items or fixtures etc would be inspected and stored at a storage facility with whom she had a relationship. This meant that when it was time to move in all the furniture could be delivered at once. It allowed for pieces to be ordered and delivered without having to worry where I would need to store these. Meera has been an absolute joy to work with. We enlisted her help initially for our dining room space. It is quite large and felt overwhelming to design ourselves.
She listened to what we were looking for and gave us many options for each component (dining table, chairs, rug, lighting, wall art). In the end, Meera created something that has an immediate wow factor but is also completely approachable. We are so happy with the results and receive compliments on it constantly.
In working with Meera on this project, things that we appreciated the most was her real understanding of each space. She brings attention to areas that call for it, and allows everything else to facilitate the overall look. Furthermore, she is very practical. You can rest assured that the space won't just look amazing, but that you will be able to live in it. Meera is also responsive and has great attention to detail. She oversaw all of our installations, and adjusted things that were not 100% to her satisfaction.
We are currently working on two more spaces with her and I cannot wait to see the final products!

As a first time homeowner enlisting the services of an interior designer, I was fortunate to find Meera. From the initial meeting to the final install, Meera was fantastic. Not only was she extremely patient as I tried to figure out exactly what I wanted, Meera also was available to answer my many questions and I was always kept informed throughout the process. I asked Meera to help me find a new style, blending 40 year old 18th century furniture with new pieces she helped me choose from contemporary designs with straight lines. She prepared design boards for 5 rooms, including several options for color and texture. Most importantly, her ideas were always in keeping with my vision. She has a great eye for blending textures, woods and metals. I learned to trust her color selections which were always spot on. If something didn’t quite work out to my liking, she quickly arranged to remove it and find a better option. Meera helped us decorate our first home. We found her after an exhaustive and extensive online search. What I really liked from the get-go is her understanding of our requirements and her personable and friendly demeanor. She was very meticulous in her work from measuring the layouts, providing us recommendations and always staying on point with the budget and timeline. She was able to translate our ideas and needs into well thought out plans. Her insights on some of the design choices, functionality, colors, fabrics, pattern play really made our home beautiful and functional. To begin with, we were wary of letting go completely and we were overwhelmed with all the choices we saw online. In hindsight, I wish I had just followed all of Meera's suggestions. In fact, we ended up going back to all of her original recommendations. She was very easy to work with and we liked her so much that we ended up going back to her for additional projects. I have been working with Meera on a number of different projects, including re-doing my bedroom and "finishing" our downstairs (dining room, living room, family room). Meera has been a pleasure to work with; she is a real professional with a great eye and great ideas for what a space can be. We've done several projects with Meera - redecorating our LR and DR which included lighting design and installation, paint selection and furnishings. She also worked with my young daughter who loves HGTV on redoing her room and finally, Meera was instrumental in a major renovation - converting a single bath and closet into 2 full baths. Her architectural training in addition to her eye for design is a great combination, especially for work in an older home like ours. Meera is easy to work with - very thoughtful and listened to what we were wanting; communicated regularly via email, text and phone; offered edited choices; was tactful in pointing out my poor ideas and worked at our pace and budget. I was connected to Meera through extensive Google searching (read: stalking) after I saw a post with a nursery she had helped design locally. We were expecting our first son and I really wanted to make his room something special. I had too many ideas, was too nervous to commit to any one of them because, well, this was my first baby and I did not want to screw it up, and I really just had no time. Meera came in and saved the day. She came up with a layout for the room, outlined what we needed to purchase, narrowed down options for each item to purchase (all within our budget), and then once all arrived, came over, and helped put the room together with an incredible attention to detail.
