Best Vet in the EastEnd (of Richmond, VA) they do ear cropping for a fair price. Doctor Kilgore and Hartman saved my dog from a major leg infection and when I told them I couldn't afford the surgery they did it anyway to save my dog and let me pay it off when I could. It just showed that they care more about the animals than the money. They have enough doctors on staff to do walk-ins if need be for minor check ups. They go above and beyond to help you keep your pets as healthy as possible. We love Dr. Callahan, who rolled with the punches when our 7 year old asked him what to do about his kitten "driving" his oversized Tonka truck without a license, and recently saw Dr. Perdew for our 16 year old cat who became ill. She was compassionate and thorough, and our sweet kitty is feeling much better! The rest of the staff exhibit the same level of excellence and warmth. Dr. Kilgore is such an amazing Veterinarian. He takes such great time and care with my 13 year old dog. If you need a Veterinarian for a cat then I highly recommend Dr. Dugan. When my cat was diagnosed with bladder cancer she went above and beyond. She did everything she possibly could for us and I was so appreciative. I saw Dr. Callahan a few weeks ago for an emergency visit for my female dog. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and he did such a great job with her. She is very high energy and anxious. Everyone was patient with her and made sure she was okay. I even get a phone call the next day from him personally to check on her. I will recommend this office to everyone . More...

We had to bring our sweet kitty in yesterday to put him down. Unfortunately, we were unable to see Dr.Kilgore because he was off, and we’re scheduled with Dr. Callahan. While we had never seen him before, he was very kind & compassionate during what was an extremely difficult time for us. Mechanicsville Animal Hospital is the absolute best! The doctors and staff are 2nd to none! My cat, Grayson, had to go to the emergency vet and the bill was astronomical. They did what was necessary on a Sunday when most veterinarian clinics are closed. They recommended finding a local vet first thing today since the bill would be cheaper. After calling almost a dozen different places, I called Mechanicsville Animal Hospital and they were able to help out and in a quick and very friendly manner too.
