What do you love most about your job?
Meeting clients from all walks of life. Helping them achieve their aspirations and providing designs that often go beyond the concept, but within budget. Being able to design and implement other peoples dreams, is very satisfying. Every day is different, when I look back over my 35 year career, that has not been a time when I thought it wasn't the profession for me.
Helping others, and enjoying what you do in the process, has to be satisfying doesn't it?
What inspired you to start your own business?
I haven't always been the boss, of course I have worked for others and experienced the constraints imposed by employers. Being able to make my own decisions, particularly when negotiating with a client is important to me. Not having the constraints and overheads, means I remain competitive.
Why should our clients choose you?
Having total client focus, means each client is treated individually. Understanding that an extension or new build project is often one of the biggest things a client undertakes in their lifetime, means they require the utmost attention, guidance and respect. Delivering designs beyond expectations and within budget. Learning about and understanding the client needs, interpreting and building the brief, to provide cost effective intuitive designs that will add value to their lives as well as the property. These are just a few reasons why a client can feel safe, as well as the fact that we are a RIBA Chartered Practice, means we follow a code of conduct in line with the RIBA work stages, fully insured and accountable, means we provide some guarantee.
Starting With The Project Brief
A free consultation for small works projects is part of the service mbo architects provides. We will question, query and formulate the brief in accordance to the client’s needs and requirements, looking to add value to the project, but more importantly creating a space or place in which the client can enjoy once complete.
Carrying Out A Measured Building Survey
Mbo Achitects offer a measured building survey to facilitate the early design stages, depending on the scale of the project this could be done within one day, or for larger scale jobs 3-4 days.
Our survey fee is dependent on the complexity of the project and site conditions

Project management ensures that the design is constructed in accordance with the contract documents, we can offer the management service in which the building is split into its collective packages (windows, roof works etc) tendered and then planned to ensure all packages run smoothly.
From Planning Approval to Building Regulations
We have a brilliant technical team in house with a great deal of knowledge and experience when it comes to producing high quality accurate technical drawings. Combined with our in-depth understanding of the ever evolving Building Regulations we are able to produce and submitt these drawings to building control on your behalf as part of our services.
