Alison is a fantastic, engaging and enthusiastic music teacher. She has been teaching my 9 year old entirely over zoom. Despite the online teaching, Alison has managed to completely inspire my daughter and she is loving her saxophone lessons. Alison is an excellent communicator and brilliant with children. I was bought a saxophone lesson for my birthday with Alison and it has been a wonderful gift. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons and feel I have made so much progress under her tutelage. Alison is very organised, approachable and encouraging. She inspires confidence with her teaching style and offers gentle constructive feedback which is invaluable. She gives you the opportunity to move forward at your own pace and supports you through exams (although there is no pressure to take them). Alison has recently invited me to join her ensemble which provides an outlet to play and share music with others and adds another dimension to learning. She also offers the opportunity to all her students to participate in concerts. I could not recommend Alison highly enough, she is brilliant and I am thoroughly enjoying my lessons and being part of all that she is putting together! More...

Alison is a fabulous music tutor. She is able to adapt to different player's styles: I know this as she tutors both of my children, who are very different, and they both enjoy their lessons with her. Alison is extremely well organised and is always on hand to offer help and advice. A prime example of her adaptability was the online concert she organised during lockdown to ensure that her performers were still given the opportunity to perform. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alison to anyone considering taking up or returning to an instrument. I think I'd compare Alison to Mary Poppins: practically perfect in every way. More...

It's a joy to be able to recommend Alison, both as a performer and an educator! Playing in her band while at Birmingham Conservatoire was a delight. Alison has a great tone, and a well established style which make for a really fun performance! As an educator, Alison is clearly very dedicated to the success of her students, and has never hesitated to give me sound advice about my own instrumental teaching. You should get Alison to be your next teacher! More...

After searching for local Saxophone tutors, I came across Alison’s Facebook page and contacted her. From the first introductory lesson, it was obvious that Alison was very knowledgeable, organised, friendly, approachable and has fun and bubbly approach to teaching. Having just passed my Bronze exam, I am absolutely buzzing with my achievement. I put this down to Alison’s encouragement and enthusiasm for music. I would easily recommend Alison to anyone that is thinking of taking up the Saxophone. She regularly updates her FB page with news, information and students achievements. I have also signed up to the monthly ensemble to meet and play with likeminded students, which Alison also organises. I can’t thank her enough and look forward to achieving more in the near future. Alison is an absolutely fantastic musician and educator. Studying alongside her on the Birmingham Conservatoire Masters Jazz course is truly inspiring as she seems to be able to perfectly balance her performing, teaching and family life. She has a massive sound on both alto and baritone saxophone and always gives an honest insight of her musical influences in her performances, as well as conveying her own unique sound. Alison is also a genuinely lovely person with such a great approach to music and life. More...

Alison is an excellent teacher, as well as being an accomplished musician in her own right. After 18 months of weekly tuition, I have already achieved more than I would have thought possible. Alison encourages and supports me in my playing and practising. The introduction of the saxophone ensemble sessions has provided fresh opportunities. Playing with other pupils is both challenging and fun at the same time. The quality of my tuition by Alison has allowed me to start preparing for my grade 5 alto sax exam in a few months. You're never to old to learn new tricks! Under Alison's guidance and support, I now look forward to my regular practice sessions and lessons. Alison tailors my lessons to exactly what I need to continue to make progress. Her feedback ensures that I don't miss anything that will add to my continuing improvement. More...

in under six months, Alison has already taken my alto sax playing to new levels. She has super teaching skills for all players including more mature pupils like myself. Q&As

I love teaching Saxophone and Clarinet and seeing my students progress and enjoy music-making. I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge.

I have been playing music for almost my whole life. I started the Clarinet at school aged 9, back in the days when local authorities made it easy to access a range of musical experiences to try out. Later on, I was fortunate enough to start the Saxophone when I happened to see a Baritone Saxophone lurking in a music cupboard at the school where my dad worked. I asked if I could try it, and the school let me borrow it, and despite the fact that it was almost as big as me I was hooked!

I believe in making music accessible, achievable and affordable through high quality teaching from a fully qualified expert specialising in young learners.

Music builds self esteem and resilience, and brings a sense of success, confidence and joy to all those who experience it. I believe those young people who have the opportunity to be involved in music from an early age develop many positive attributes and skills which help them in other areas of their lives.

I was excited when I discovered the Nuvo range of instruments. Their mission to improve access to music making for young people struck a chord with me. These Nuvo instruments give young people an affordable way in to learning an exciting and expensive instruments. They are designed with young people in mind and so, whilst not compromising on sound and quality, they are lighter, more resilient and easy to clean and maintain. I am proud to be a Nuvo Ambassador, collaborating with other like minded music teachers and keeping up to date with new technology that makes music easier to access.

I was delighted to be a Finalist in Tamworth Business and Community Awards 2018 in the categories 'Most Promising Start-up' and 'Services' after receiving many nominations from students and their families. It such a privilege to teach people to learn to play Saxophone and/or Clarinet.

In December 2018 we held our first Christmas Concert and Wilnecote Parish Hall, Tamworth. Students of all ages and abilities performed on stage to their loved ones. It was an amazing opportunity for all involved and we are now looking forward to our Summer concert in 2019.
