MC driveway company

Very disappointed after asking this company to do some flagging work. The main man called Martin said we won't have to pay anything until the job is complete. He started the work and then needed money to pay his workers. Absolute liar. Very disappointed. And because we paid him he cut all corners and did a botch up job. I had the misfortune of hiring Lewis and Martin and their team to do some block paving at the front of my house. They offer cheap quotes to get your business and then when the work gets underway they come up with excuses and ask for more money. This is what happened to me. Once the lads started the work I was told there was a problem with the Earth at front of my house. It was too soft and required a concrete base to be laid to make it suitable for block paving. So, I ended up having to pay more. I did think this was odd, but not knowing anything about building or groundwork I took their word on this and let them get on with the work.
 
Anyway, the job was completed very quickly. Too quickly in fact and I was surprised by the speed at which everything was done. This made me suspicious so once the lads left I asked for a second opinion from another company. They lifted up a few of the blocks and found that no concrete was laid as promised. I was told it was not needed but MC Driveways told me it did and I had to pay for it. I was also advised that there was no hard base used, just sand. As a result, the blocks will start to move/sink very soon. Time will tell. I contacted Lewis and Martin to tell them about what the other company found. I was told that someone would come and visit me but no-one showed up despite several promises. I eventually gave up.
 
Don’t be fooled by the 5* fake reviews! These guys are cowboys and will do anything to reel you in. After doing some local research with other residents in the area I have heard more horror stories about MC Driveway. If only I did this before!
 
I am saddened that I put my faith into this company and they took advantage of the fact that I am a single woman who does not know anything about groundworks. I feel disappointed that I paid good money for work that was not carried out but worse as it was not needed in the first place.

MC Driveways gave a very cheap quote but unfortunately this was reflected in the workmanship and overall finish. The owner, Martin, took his money before the job was complete with the promise that he would return the complete the job the next day but he has not been back since. It’s now been over a year. Martin very profesional and polite.
He and his team have done our driveway, eye catching and beautiful, after I have been rubbed by another unkown company called Miller's Landscaping! !! who left the mess there.

Martin and his team have done us proud. Our driveway was in s shocking state, broken and cracked concrete, holes and puddles.
One week later, it has been completely removed, dug out, hard-core base and perfect tarmac. The team stayed on the job until complete.
Every need, and question was answered and dealt with perfectly. Martin was very courteous to the neighbours in our narrow street.
Perfect job, communication and everything cleaned afterwards.
