Italian American Restaurant with off and on site catering available.
This place has been on point both times I've been here. The staff is nice, the portions are huge, and the service is quick. If you don't want leftovers, stick with the half portion and even then you may have leftovers.I got the Prix Fixe dinner: Ceasar salad, Chocolate Bomb dessert, and pasta with sausage and chicken.I will definitely be back More...
Very nice. The food was excellent
I have travelled the work and Italy over 100 times. This food here and the service beats my 63 years of restaurant experience. No wonder why it is full every night . More...
Great atmosphere. Home made pasta, can’t complain about that
The staff was fabulous and the food was Deee-Lish!
Took us right in, food was delich.
Because I was with my boo
Too good to reduce to a few words.
Make sure your server writes down your order. Generally if one person ends up asking for the half portion of something, the whole table ends up getting half sized meals, which is not always ideal. Yummy food and a great wine list.Save room for dessert! More...
Food, service, setting all excellent - it's no wonder they were busy even on a Thursday. Nice selection of Italian favorites and daily specials.
Food is amazing
This is one of the must go to places in the Berkshires
This place does food right. And they know how to treat their customers. Big parties or intimate date night, it's a great place to go. Outdoor dining too and special events. The food is amazing. Make reservations, this place gets hopping. More...
Food and service was very good. Not as intimate as had hoped, but otherwise a great place to eat.
We enjoy every visit. Love the food and the service is usually god too, had a few servers that were not up to par but in 20 or more visits I do t think that's to crazy. Always try the special it never disappoints!!!!! More...
Mazzeo's was a winner in all categories! Great food, service and atmosphere! I really liked this place and I travel a lot and eat in a variety of places. With great trepidation I will have dinner somewhere else soon and how could they ever top Mazzeo's?!!! The Chicken Antonio and polenta was awesome! More...
Mazzeos is absolutely our favorite restaurant in the Berkshires. We have always had excellent meals and service, including today's Mother's Day brunch. So delicious!
Loved it. This waiter named Nick was very attentive, the food was very delicious. Great people, good food service with a smile.
Good service, good food. Sat at the bar for dinner, and had a very nice meal.
Foods great waitress JENN was awesome
Great Italian food
An awesome time the food was excellent and the was above and beyond
Little pricy but alwayslove for special celebrations but with drinks look to spend 75-100 a plate
Wow! Wonderful experience from the staff, waiter, Nick, and amazing food. This was a drive-by stop we were so happy we made.
Always great Excellent chef
Attention to detail!
Delicious Italian! Always on point! Excellent wait staff and bartenders. Reservations best on weekends and especially during peak out of town visitors season.
Terrific spot to go after skiing with the Family! Very helpful and nice staff. Cocktails were just ok but the wine list is good and not too expensive. Food was great, we had a veal chop and it was cooked perfectly! More...
Hands down the best place to eat. Great food, great staff.
Authentic and delicious Italian. Yum!
Well worth a visit or three. Fantastic food, drinks, and service. It's pricey but not overly so and you are paying for quality. They have lots of seating so you rarely have to wait long even when it's busy, but it's still a good idea to make reservations. More...
Great for events
Always a very good meal A+
Out of this world Mushrooms Beignet and Beef Charlemagne.
Nice ambiance, good food, and patient and kind staff. Didnt realize they closed at ten but they didnt rush us to finish and even offered dessert after closing.
Excellent meal. Great bartenders.
Very good food, comfy atmosphere, very reasonable
I stayed in Pittsfield this weekend, traveled all the way from boston. The food was delicious, the ambience was perf, my desert was yummy
Great food, Great atmosphere, Great service... If traditional Italian is what you are looking for you will be happy.... Will return!
Great service. The food was ok, i had the gnocchi which was great but my husbands mussels weren't cleaned well and very gritty. Other than that hiccup we really enjoyed our meal. More...

Great food. Great service. Dining room and lounge are very nice and perfectly lit.
I had a great experience here. Wonderful wood and good service. Although it can be very expensive, the food matches the quality.
Absolutely loved this cozy restaurant! The service was great even while they were packed handling Christmas parties. The ambiance makes you feel at home.
I moved away from the Berkshires but every time I'm back visiting I go here!! Great food, wine, atmosphere! I love this place!
Great meal great service
Excellent eggplant parmesan
Food is amazing so come hungry and leave happy
Had a special occasion there and they were absolutely wonderful and accommodating, they made a Great impression!
Been back again a number of times since my original review. Had the opportunity to try more than 75% if the main courses on the menu. What's prevented me from trying them all is the daily specials. They are always a challenge to pass up. Pistachio Crusted Sole as well as Lamb Shank this evening. When Halibut or Prime Rib is on the menu you just "gotta get it". The service is always excellent. This is my favorite "go-to" restaurant in the Berkshire's because I can always count on consistency. The Shrimp Cocktail is served with the best horseradish spiked cocktail sauce I've ever had. Shrimp are large and served at the perfect temperature. Excellent fried Calamari. All the pastas are delicious. Superb wine list. Full bar. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Large room for private parties. Great prefixe menu on holidays like Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. BRAND NEW ADDED BONUS: You can now make reservations on Yelp! I did it this afternoon and it worked perfectly seating at the exact time reserved. More...
Excellent food, wait staff, presentation!
Amazing setting, amazing food....Best Italian restaurant I've ever been toAmazing staff!!!!!Hands down BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT EVER!!!!
Absolutely amazing the presentation and mix of flavors we're amazingly beautiful and perfect
Delicious food. I'd highly recommend it.
Very good food. Amazing service.
Love their food
We were looking for a restaurant to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with our family in Pittsfield. After making numerous calls, we came upon Mazzeo's. Although they were booked solid for eating in, we were able to order turkey meals to go. We ordered a meal for each of us, which were so large we could have gotten away with a dinner for every two people. Well now we have enough left over for 2-3 more meals. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals. The turkey was moist & tender, the dressing delish and the mashed potatoes great. The green bean casserole, although not very hot like the rest of the food, was very good. There were carrots & sweet potatoes too, but they were saved with the leftover turkey. The meals came with soup or salad. We got the minestrone soup which was also very good. The next time we come back to Pittsfield, we are eating at Mazzeo's! More...
Service Outstanding. Great drinks at bar and meals are excellent.
We truly enjoyed this restaurant. The service was great, the food was beyond reproach. The servings were huge. So take your appetite or ask for the smaller serving.
Many gluten free options, good food and prompt service.
Good food big portions long wait
Stayed nearby on a Saturday evening came upon Mazzeo and enjoyed from start to finish. We did not have room for dessert after two appetizers and entrees. Their food was fresh and filling. Service was impeccable. I hope to return one day. More...
Excellent Italian food in a beautiful setting. We were there for an early dinner in a Fri night so it wasn't too crowded. Huge portions! Great wines. Fabulous tiramisu.
Had dinner there with my family on Tuesday evening. Food was fantastically delicious, as usual. Service is Always Impeccable!!! I highly recommend you eat here!
Excellent food with great atmosphere! Large portions.
Attended this restaurant as part of a wedding rehearsal dinner. Food was great ( I love Italian) . I would go back.
Great service and food!!
Very tasty food. Our waiter, John D. was extremely personable and he sang "Happy Birthday" beautifully.
The place is amazing, the service is great and the food is good but sometimes is salty

The food was excellent. The people were very nice.
Best restaurant in Pittsfield
Great time. Great food, atmosphere and staff. We will be going back again.
Great food and prompt service! Part of a group eating buffet provided.... excellent choices on buffet. Highly recommend!
Chicken marsala entree was very good and the staff was very accommodating.
My husband and I were in the mood for Italian and looking for a nice restaurant to get a little dressed up for to have a nice evening out since we were in the Berkshires for our honeymoon - we fund Mazzeo's! Based on some of the other reviews we saw- we called ahead and made reservations for about an hour and a half later (7:30). Definitely a good move- call and make a reservation!! There were at least 2, possibly 3, private parties while we were dining - clearly this restaurant has the space and ability to host events from rehearsal dinners, to birthday celebrations, to company events! Even though the place was packed and there were 2+ parties going on - the staff was incredibly attentive and the timing of everything was perfect! We waited for 10-15 minutes when we got there for our table to be set, but other than that, there were zero complaints from us when it came to waiting times or attentiveness. Very impressive for a restaurant that's dealing with multiple parties and a friday night dinner rush!! We had the caprese salad, which was plated well and met the approval of my caprese loving husband! For entree's, I ordered the Fettuccini Di Mia Carbonara, which was delightful. The meal was light and flavorful and very well done - hit the spot for sure! My husband ordered the Gnocchi Alla Melissa and practically inhaled the food it was so good! The Gnocchi was perfect and the combination was lighter than expected. Mazzeo's also offers half or full portions of their pasta entrees, which is wonderful! We both got the full portions, we took home maybe 1/3 of the Fettuccini and there was nothing left of the Gnocchi dish to take! We ordered the Chocolate Piano with Raspberry Mousse for dessert. The presentation is stunning - and the mousse was excellent! little gasps were heard in the dining room as the little piano was brought out. The piano is a little challenging to disassemble if you want to pair it with the mousse and not just eat the mousse out of it.. but the pairing is delicious. Overall - a wonderful experience and a delightful honeymoon date! More...
Excellent. Very traditional Italian with fresh bright sauces. I enjoyed the filet MIGNON meatballs and my wife had the chicken soup of the day which had a lovely lemon flavor. The veal franchise and cavatelli with chicken and sausage were very good. More...
As usual great food and service.
great food, great service, ...but closed on sundays. what is it about Berkshire restaurants, don’t they know people have to eat on sundays too?
Food is AMAZING, great wine list, great service, and great atmosphere.
I arrived just as the restaurant was closing. I went to the bar hoping that they could pack something up quick to take back to the hotel room. The bartenders urged me to stay and eat while they were closing up. That type of service is rare. The lasagna was delicious too btw. More...
Great food, great staff, great atmosphere...best Italian food in the area! Always busy, I recommend you call for a reservation because you do not want to miss out on a meal from here.
Great food. Fine service. Homemade pasta. I had a terrific linguini with seafood.
Loved it! On our way from Saratoga to Norman Rockwell Museum, and staying in Lenox. Loved the place - banquet room on first floor, dining room, bar, and outdoor seating upstairs (elevator if you need it). I had an appetizer portion of eggplant parm, with a house dinner Caesar. Hubby had fettuccine with veal bolognese sauce (1/2 portion), and a house side salad. Two glasses of wine, a club soda, total bill was $54. A perfect amount of food. We sat at a hi-top in the bar. Bar seats about 30 at high-tops, 20 at bar. Dining room is large. Great atmosphere, and love the 1/2 portion option! More...
Delicious Italian food! The place was packed...but it ran so smoothly...you wouldn't notice. The polenta fries, which were on special, were delicious...and both entrees we ordered were great. The half portion was plenty big enough for one person. The waitress was excellent...she checked on us often and was very friendly. Definitely a place we would visit again! More...
Very popular so book ahead or sit in the bar! Nice half size portions for half the price. Home made pasta is good! They have a chocolate piano! Yes, you read that correctly... Sorry no photo of it haha More...
From out of town, recommended by Best Western.Excellent meal for 2 of 3 appetizers did fine by us with one being an Antipasto plate. Excellent wine ,service, and chocolate piano dessert. More...
Always a great meal . Always eat Italian there but this time they had a porterhouse special that was absolutely wonderful, better than steakhouses I've been in.
Delicious seafood and homemade pasta. Half portion available. Timely and friendly service so we could make it to the concert on time. Reasonable price.
Very Celiac friendly! A nice sized GF menu and GF penne to substitute into their pasta. As a former pasta junkie, I was pretty pleased with their penne. It was a special occasion so I splurged on the lobster and was disappointed to find that it was very over cooked. But, overall I was pleased and would return to try something different. More...
Fine Italian dining with a large wine selection. The food is excellent, I highly recommend. Not a t-shirt type restaurant, but not suit and tie.
Can't wait to get back to this restaurant in Pittsfield! Fabulous food. great service and a very pleasant dining setting, surprising large restaurant that is well run. Both dinners were outstanding. We stuck to the Italian cuisine and were wowed! More...
This is the Einstein places to eat! ️Excellent food, courteous wait staff and very affordable for fine cuisine dining! I recommend this place over all places in Berkshire County!! More...
Tired from the road, we wanted a place to sit down where we wouldn't be bombarded with intrusive music and fifty televisions. I didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night but they were able to quickly accommodate us. While waiting, my martini was generous. Our dinner was a delight in its quality and its size. I have found that when I respond to the staff in a gregarious and friendly manner, it is returned five fold and here was no exception. Responding to my inevitable charm, the staff catered to us in a quick and, I dare say, joyful manner. On the trip back to the hotel, I could not stop "wow'-ing my satisfaction with the experience. Our future trips to the area will be based on close proximity to this wonderful establishment. More...
Service was impeccable as well as the food. Not a complaint to be had. Phenominal!
Great service and really good food. Creative specials. A long-standing Berkshire County establishment a decade or so into a new location, and crushing it. Mazzeos are good people.
Good food and atmosphere. Our waitress was experienced and friendly. Expect to spend 100.00 for a couples dinner.. will be back ...
Great italian food, recommend calling ahead for reservations, a little pricey but not bad for what we got. Will go there again when we are back in town.
Good Italian food in a very nice setting.
Great food and atmosphere
Excellent food with great service. My wife and I look forward to our next dinner.
Best restaurant in the Berkshires for fine dining
Good food, good service.
Great Italian restaurant. I like that you can get pasta dishes in a half size.
One of 2 favorite restaurants in Pittsfield
Excellent service and food.
Expensive but worth it
Food is good but great. Value is fair to good. Service good.
Nice atmosphere with good Italian fare.
Great family place with great food and a great atmosphere.

Pretty pricey, but nice place to eat
Great food, friendly staff
Best Italian in the Berkshires.
Great service. Food was good but kind of standard
Food was delicious and the menu had some creative dishes that were very good
This had become our place for special dinners
Yummy food with a nice ambience.
The stuffed meatball appetizer special was to die for. Everything I've ever tasted there has been delicious
Better than most, appetizers were terrific.
We wanted to treat ourselves to an upscale meal, Mazzeo's didn't disappoint. Everyone from the hostess to the wait staff made this dining experience great.

Excellent value, great food & service - a must, when in the Berkshires.

Best eggplant Parmesan I ever had!
High prices for small portions.

Pretty pricey, but, wonderful place to eat

First time coming here staff and food was excellent.
Good food with a nice atmosphere and a great bar area. It can get very busy in the summer. They also have a nice outside patio.
Good Italian food. Always crowded. But the place is big and there's usually plenty of room.

Very good steak
Absolutely a class run operation! Our 23rd Anniversary dinner was outstanding! Food was just mind blowing to say the least ! Service was truly top notch ! Atmosphere was truly elegant ! Thanks so much for making a special night that much more ! Highly recommend to all !! More...
Loved the patio. Staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They worked well together. They get 5 stars for serving 1/2 portions since we are not big eaters
Always have an amazing meal, great experience, and friendly staff!
Nice dark quiet place kind of on the small side a little cramped for space with all the tables.Nice people nice Bar
This is how good it is: I dream of the fresh pasta you can order as a side dish! Seriously! The pasta was light and airy, and so was the sauce. It was fresh and light and a little sweet. Amazing! And they make it in house. Trust me, it will be hard to eat regular pasta after trying this! The main part of my meal was a steak and that was cooked perfectly as well. Really lovely dining area, romantic atmosphere with comfy booth seats and an awesome wine selection. The gelato sampler was very nice as well, I enjoyed trying the different flavors. Wonderful place! If I'm ever out that way again I will definitely go back! More...
I had the special of sea scallops with chimichurri sauce, carrot puree, asparagus and cherry quinoa. IT. WAS. AMAZING. I really don't have words for it. The flavors and textures just worked perfectly together and so much flavor! The carrot puree with curry and ginger almost knocked me out of my chair, it was so good. I'm from out of the area but hope they make that a frequent special as it was a home run. My husband loved his salad and gnocchi entree and we had the awesome sorbet bomba dessert. While it's not a cheap restaurant, the prices are very reasonable for the extraordinary quality of the food and there's plenty of variety on the menu to match different budgets and appetites. They also sell their homemade pasta in half-sizes- great for seniors. Would DEFINITELY return. More...
Great food, reasonably priced, wonderful staff and very pleasant atmosphere.

Better seafood than what we got back in Plymouth, MA. Portions were more than enough.
excellent food, great wine selections, incredible atmosphere
Very pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure how this place averages 3.5 stars. Makes no sense. I had chicken Oscar with asparagus that was wonderful. My dining companion had an amazing fettuccini carbonara. More...
Get reservations. It gets crowded fast. Big parking lot. Nice atmosphere. Good food. Average price without appetizers or drinks- $25/ person. Great place for gluten-free people. They have a gluten-free menu. (Ask your server for it). Go early when it opens if u want outdoor seating. More...
We stopped in here for our 40th High School reunion, we started off upstairs at the bar, watched the Preakness and had a beer, then went downstairs to the function room for the evening. They had plenty of tasty finger foods and kept things circulating and made sure things were kept clear (old bottles, plates, etc). Overall a good time, we'll have to try a meal upstairs next time. This was by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Ashlee was the best server! It was a special night Barb and Bob B&B
Had a great meal! The steak was cooked perfect, the goat cheese salad was incredible and the bruchetta appetizer was huge! Great service!
Authentic Italian dishes. Nice romantic setting. Very busy but recommended if your in the area
If you're in Lee or Pittsfield or any surrounding city, Mazzeo's is a must. There were 6 of us, so I won't be able to write down what everyone got simply because I forgot. But, I can tell that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.We got the fried mozzarella balls appetizer. It was very good. I got the Shrimp Fra Diavalo (medium) - EXCELLENT.My wife got the baked pasta - EXCELLENT.The pastas all come in a half order. If you don't live there and don't have the option to take home leftovers, I would stick with the half order. But if you live there, I would go for the whole order and take some home. More...
WE showed up on a Saturday night with no reservation. First I recommend you have a reservation on a Friday or Saturday night because they are very busy. Next, I have no recommendation because everything that we ordered was fabulous! The antipasto appetizer is scrumptious as well as the salmon entree. The veggies were done to perfection and the wine selection impressive. They also have spumoni tartufo, a great treat. For those of us from NYC, this restaurant is a very pleasant surprise. I would recommend this restaurant and we plan to return for another meal before we leave. More...
Hosted a business dinner at Mazzeo's and everything was perfect. I have dealt with a lot of restaurants for this sort of thing (from 5 star NYC steakhouses to local pizzarias) and Mazzeo's did a great job with everything from pricing to execution of the event. The room was surprisingly nice. They had a cozy gas fireplace going (perfect for fall) and nice tables. There was a bar with 4 kinds of draft beers and a nice selection of wine and liquor. I will say that everyone remarked that the wine pours were very generous, which saved people from coming back often. The beer glasses also were a good size and much classier than the standard pint glass. If I notice these little things ... so do the attendees. The food was really good! Everything from the fresh baked rolls to the eggplant parmesan which was among the best I ever had. Others agreed. The salad was fresh and dressed well and the beef braciaolle was really fantastic and flavorful. They offered a very good selection of different dishes to please everyone's tastes. We had a little trouble with the audio equipment at the start but someone from the staff was immediately there to fix it. The bartenders were friendly, the servers were attentive but not overly pushy which made it easy to have conversations at the table. I didn't see a single staff member who seemed grumpy or put out by any request. The manager who oversaw the evening stayed in the back of the scene but was always there when a problem came up.Our guest speaker went pretty far over his allotted speaking time, which would throw a lot of places for a loop regarding the buffet/service. It didn't phase the team here and the buffet was hot, fresh and ready to go the minute he ended. It doesn't get much better than this. When you are running event, the last thing you want is logistical headaches and the staff took all the headaches for us, allowing us to focus on the event itself.I visited Mazzeo's several years ago before the update and renovations and will admit that I was hesitant when this was the place that was chosen. However the restaurant is beautifully updated and has a warm and cozy vibe along with a touch of modern, which makes it seem like a Manhattan restaurant in the middle of the cozy Berkshires. Plenty of parking and the meeting room has restrooms attached, so you don't have to go upstairs to the restaurant to use the restroom. The only thing I would suggest is that they look at the entry doors and perhaps change the fastening system. The function room is located on the bottom floor of the restaurant near the main entrance. Each time someone opens the main doors, even when the function room doors are shut, the wind sucks in and causes the function room doors to make a pretty distracting banging. During the speaking part of the function, several times there was a loud bang from the doors which caused people to turn and look towards the back of the room.Other than that issue, everything was absolutely perfect and I would defiantly recommend this place for a business event/dinner. In fact, the next time I am in the area I will actually try it for dinner as well. More...
Solid joint for Italian food here. Food was fantastic.
amazing. best eggplant parm i've ever had. we actually ordered pretty much the entire menu and it was all amazing, but as an italian and a foodie i definitely recommend this snazzy 'ole joint.

Considering the overall decline of the quality of restaurants in the area, I was happy to have found this gem. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Though the restaurant is typically very busy, the tables are spaced far enough apart for comfort and the atmosphere is very nice. The place is not cheap but it's not overpriced either. It's one of those cases where you pay for quality. I left stuffed and happy. More...
We got recommended to Mazzeo's by our Inn list and it's incredible. My husband ordered the Caprese buffalo mozzarella salad and I had the Caesar. He had the Salmon grilled and I had the Cod. All of it was so tasty and the ambience is the best. The place isn't too LOUD. It's refined elegance. Oh and the bread is homemade and incredible! We love Mazzeo's! More...
Best Italian we've had in Berkshires by far. It's not too loud, the wait staff is excellent, the food is off the charts. And there's plenty of parking! Highly recommend Mazzeo's to anyone visiting or living in Berkshires. More...
Authentic Italian food. Great atmosphere. Jennifer gave my wife & I fantastic service. We were in want of nothing. The pasta & gnocchi were so so good, as was the bruschetta & goat cheese salad. Really top notch service. My wife & I had one night to spend "out" due to our work schedules. In Mazzeo's, we picked the right place. We left so happy. Mazzeo's food, service, atmosphere, & cocktails were all home runs. We will definitely be back! More...

Our favorite place! Have not found better in Western MA. If it's your Birthday, you must experience the amazing singing waiter!
I had veal franchese and my so had chicken franchese and my husband had lobster mac and cheese. No one could eat it all. Great leftovers. Dessert was very good and beautifully presented More...
Food was amazing, best Italian I've ever had honestly. Atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable, just like the people who work there. The service was quick and enjoyable. It was my first time at Mazzeo's and I had the chance to try this place because I was in town doing an over-nighter for work. I was under dressed and dirty since I just left the job site, but I was treated with respect just like anyone else who was dining there. I will definitely be returning with my fiancé in the future even though it's a 3 hour drive for me. Thank you for such a great experience! More...

Awesome!! Came here for dinner one night while visiting my daughter at college. Everything was delicious from the appetizer to the dessert. Staff were wonderful and attentive. We liked it so much that we came back 2 weeks later for Easter brunch. Brunch was great. We had first seating, so no problem getting food, but a lot me began to form and stayed long. It's a small area where the buffet is no navigating with all the people gets tricky, but the food was awesome and staff went out of their way to help out. Will definitely come again. More...
Excellent decor and atmosphere. A little pricey but the quality of the food was well worth it. I had the house made fettuccine bolengnse with a side a sautéed spinach and a glass of Tuscan chianti. Food and service are always excellent. Wait to hear the specials before deciding to order! A very enjoyable evening out.
We found this place by accident, and we couldn't be happier. We were seated quickly, service was quick and attentive. The courses could have been served way too quickly, but I had to slow them way down so we could enjoy them. Cocktails were made perfect. Steak was made perfectly and pasta was great. So pleasantly decorated and clean. Really an excellent resturant. More...
Everything was amazing from beginning to end! My boyfriend and I are staying in the Berkshires for my birthday and were looking for a good place to eat. We both thought our meals were delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area! Definitely higher class so dress nicer than usual. More...
I stopped by there on a work trip and it was excellent. I had the eggplant parm based on a rec here and it was huge and did not disappoint.. the only issue was that I couldn't take the rest to go because I was staying in a hotel. I had the butternut squash bisque to start which was perfect for a cool fall night, but again the portion was so big I couldn't finish it, tough problem to have. Prices were very reasonable if not inexpensive. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area. More...
Fabulous place for a date night or other special occasion ! We stopped in spontaneously looking for an Italian dinner. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. This is really a 4.5 rating. We just left Mazzeo's, having had a great meal, with very good service. From the hot and delicious bread to the well-priced and generous glass of wine to the terrific insalata di casa ( greens with Granny Smith apple slices, blue cheese and cranberries and candied walnuts), we anticipated a lovely dinner. We split the salad as well as gnocchi al forno (yummy ricotta gnocchi with sauce and melted mozz) and the blackened salmon (with French green beans and Parmesan polenta). Our meals were really delicious, and we plan to go back later in the week. Our only complaint is that the waiter could have asked about the timing of the salad, since it was served as an entree rather than as an appetizer. Other than that minor issue, we had a great meal. Kudos to the kitchen. More...
Why did I wait so long to dine at Mazzeo's. I have lived in the Berkshires for three years and have tried many of the so called Italian restaurants. Disappointment after disappointment. On a whim my husband and I decided to dine at Mazzeo's this week to celebrate my cousins 81 birthday. I can't say enough about the friendly staff and magnificent atmosphere. The food was truly five star. After living in New Jersey for several years (and they get Italian food) and having the privilege of vacationing in Italy I almost gave up finding true Italian food in the Berkshires. Here it is in my back yard! I will make a point to dine here at least once a month if not more. Thank you Mazzeo's for a lovely evening. Excellent food and service. More...
Went here with my wife on a Monday night while staying near by. EVERYTHING was excellent starting with the bread, salad and oh my, the mozzarella balls are to die for. I had the Cod with lobster risotto and it was the best meal I have ever had. The waitress even made a suggestion for a good red wine and she knocked it out of the park. Only bad thing is they are 2 hours away. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. More...
What a fantastic meal can't wait to go back. The food was fresh and delicious! One of the best restaurants in New England. Wish it was closer I'd go every night. More...
I'll be honest. Each time I drive by this place ANY day of the week they are open, the parking lot is FULL. And they have a HUGE parking lot. Delicious food, endless wine options, great beer choices, they even have my favorite scotch so that's a big plus. Everything I've ever had there is delicious, appetizers, meals, or desserts. It is more pricey but you can taste the quality in your food. They also have an option for you to purchase cigars there. Which is great if you and your pals want to unwind after the company meeting or something like that. Make a reservation, their tables fill quick daily! Greatly managed, and super friendly staff! if you haven't gone yet, I urge you to go! More...
I eat at Mazzeos as often as I can. It is one of the best run Restaurants in all of New England and an absolute MUST if traveling through the Berkshires. First off try the Mushrooms Beignets appetizer. Your mouth will thank you and you'll never find them this good anywhere else. If you like Italian but like to eat light like me the Eggplant Parmesan is over the top delicious. In fact it's so good my wife and I occasionally order large trays of it from their catering/ kitchen to serve at parties in our home. Our guests can never get enough of it. For meat lovers try the Beef Charlemagne and you'll think Julia Child was in the kitchen cooking it. Incredible service and professionalism from the welcoming staff to the bus service and the waitstaff is quick and conscientious and never pushy. Additionally how can you not like a restaurant where the owner makes his way over to say thank you and to be sure we are happy EVERY time I'm there. Always clean, upscale and great bar area for socializing. More...
We stayed at Berkshire Mountain Lodge and we were so happy Mazzeo's was just across the street. We were impressed by this place. The food was fab, the decor was stylish and sophisticated. The place was filled with families and couples. We had an attentive server with a great smile, 2 yummy bottles of Vino and kicked off our meal with some seriously good garlic bread. I had the spicy linguine HOT and when they say hot they mean hot. So if you like spice and can handle it- order this! I would go back if I head to Pittsfield again. More...
So glad we came back. Dinner tonight was delicious. Starting with mushrooms Beignet, filet and mozzarella meatballs, entrees of chicken Oscar and surf n turf. Everything done to perfection. Service, as always, attentive and courteous. More...
Going Tuesday night. Never disappointing. Excellent food, Great service, high end of price spectrum for area, but worth it. Comfortable atmosphere -- Festive but quiet enough for grandpa to hear conversation. I think there is a TV at the bar, sports fans, but not obtrusive. And really convenient, right on Pittsfield-Lenox Rd. (Rt. 7/20). More...
What a great experience! I had heard about Mazzeo's from locals for a long time (it's been around for 27 years), but never got to go there till now. Boy, what I've been missing! The place is like a big house with many dinning rooms. It's huge! The owner greeted us as if we were part of his family. The staff was wonderful. They really know their stuff. The menu is big with every Italian dish you can imagine and many, many more. The food was great. I don't remember what we ate, but everyone at the table raved about their dish. We had so much to eat, we had to pass on dessert. Now that I've been here, I'll be back again and again. More...
This place is A-MAZING. Simply the best Italian/Seafood in the Berkshires. If you are trying to decide what to eat here, you MUST order the Risotto dal Mare - I have ordered this dish every time I've eaten here, and it is simply the best risotto I have ever had. My SO recommends the Veal Oscar, but beware - the Lobster Newberg and hollandaise sauce is not for the faint of heart. It is very, very good - but also very, very rich.Appetizers here are fantastic, and portions are huge. You'd think I'd have learned this by now, and would stop ordering so much, but I simply can't. Expect leftovers.Excellent service. Polite, attentive, and not overbearing. Ambiance is nice and romantic, great spot for a date night. More...
Enjoyed the chicken parmesan and delicious salad and appetizers with friends. Great place to have a good meal with friends or family. Worth every penny.
Went here for dinner on a Thursday night - it was a great experience! I can't remember what the name of the entree I had was, but it was a parmesan chicken/eggplant/veal combo and it was amazing! My wife had the filet with a mushroom sauce and it too was knock your socks off good! The atmosphere was good and we were highly impressed with the service. Even on a busy evening they didn't miss a beat with our drinks, and the food came our quickly. More...
I really have to praise this restaurant as one of the best in the Berkshires and definitely worthy of a fancy occasion or just a romantic dinner with a little bit of flair to it. This is a great restaurant for all types of food (Italian), but if you really lean more towards seafood and poultry rather than heavier meat dishes then this is your spot. The atmosphere is very comfortable, classy and chic. The waitstaff wear aprons and are very professional but not to the point of unfriendliness (they are all great). So let's start with the food: Appetizers:- Mushroom Beignet: Mine was outstanding! The appetizer comes with three balls a bit smaller than baseballs. When I cut mine open, the plate was flooded with a delicious garlic, white wine and herb sauce - very juicy fried mushroom. The flavor was rich and buttery. Two other friends ate the other two - one of them was just like mine but the third one was horrible. It was dry and there was sauce in it. I'm not what happened to the last one to cause the inconsistency, but it could have ruined the whole dish. -Fried calamari: perfectly seasoned and pleasantly crisp-Steamed Clams: very delicious and steamed to perfection (not overcooked)EntreeMyself and my boyfriend split the linguine with mixed seafood dish with white wine and garlic sauce. I can say that it was absolutely delicious and enough for 2-3 people. My only caveat was that there was literally one claw of a lobster chopped in half for the lobster bit (one mouthful each) and 3 shrimp in the whole dish. There were a few more rings of calamari and a decent amount of clams and mussels. There were 2 scallops in the whole dish. I feel that for the price they went really light on the lobster, shrimp and scallops but didn't feel so bad only because I split with my boyfriend. The other couple with us got the same dish with the tomato basil sauce and they also had the same amount of seafood. Nevertheless, both dishes were delicious and we were pleased. Dessert:The deep fried ice cream is a must and large enough to split between 2-4 people easily. The crust is nutty and sweet at the same time, but you won't miss the crunch of the traditional honey/crispy outside covering. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT!The mango and coconut sorbets were also very good - the generic items that come in the coconut shell and the mango skin. Very refreshing and never a bad choice. Overall, service was above and beyond excellent - even when compared to NYC standards. They kept the water glasses full and were perfectly attentive without being overbearing. They were very pleasant about taking us in at 930 and didn't rush us even though they close at 10 and the dinner ended at 11 - there were many tables of people still there. Besides the minor inconsistencies, this place was outstanding. We all thought that the bill would be 2 or 3 times what it turned out to be. Highly recommended. More...
I enjoyed another business dinner here, paid by someone else.I am still liking this place a lot. My filet was perfect and well seasoned. The iced tea was very good this time. I am still loving the mushroom beignet appetizer. I had creme brulee for dessert this time and it was excellent.Service, as always, was excellent. I'm sure I'll be eating here again. More...
Great service yummy food nice atmosphere! Wine list was also great, definitely recommend
Mazzeo's is consistently awesome. People tend to complain that it's a bit expensive, but for the portion sizes and the quality of the food, I think it's absolutely reasonable and worth it. Every entree is served with bread, and soup or salad. Portion sizes are large enough that I always have lunch for the next day. The servers are professional and really know the menu inside and out. The restaurant itself is incredibly clean. I don't have anything negative to say about Mazzeo's, every meal has been delicious and a great experience. More...
I was very skeptical about getting good Italian food near Lenox Massachusetts! Being from New York I have been exposed to the best Italian food outside of Italy. The food and service at this establishment was beyond outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection, the quality was amazing and the preparation was flawless. You would be making a big mistake not trying this restaurant, one of the best. More...
Had a wonderful meal on 11/3/2014. The sauce with my lasagna was superb. I tried the beet soup. I've never had anything so delicious. I can't believe the other other reviewer who was there the same date and time that I was had a disappointing meal. Mine was outstanding. More...
Nice dinning atmosphere , loved the Oysters Rockefeller, Pan Seared Sea Scallops can be better, friendly and attentive wait staff.
My father in law recently moved into Lenox and we have been exploring all of our options for dining out. Until now I have been less than impressed. Being a foodie living in Manhattan, I do feel a bit spoiled when it comes to Italian food, or food in general. Mazzeo's stepped up to the plate, and delivered. We did feel a bit underdressed when we came in, but were greeted pleasantly and quickly made to feel comfortable. We were seated quickly, (8pm on a Wednesday) and our waiter was with us in no time. He was extremely polite and patient, as well as informative. The menu was very impressive and inexpensive for what we're used to. The wine selection was great, but we didn't try any. The beer selection was pretty boring, but I'm a snob when it comes to that anyway.Onto the food. Wow. The appetizers were sizable, hot, and delivered quickly. The lobster risotto was AMAZING. We also ordered the mushroom vignettes and mussels. Everything was great, the lobster just really stands out. Our entrees were also pretty quick to come out, with our sides and salads. I ordered the linguini zuppa di something... with lobster, clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, and scallops in white wine and garlic sauce... I love seafood and this dish was on point. The other orders were chicken francaise and the chicken oscar. Everyone was very delighted.Desserts were a no brainer. We split the chocolate mousse and a tiramisu. Very well presented and tasted great. We will definitely be coming back here very soon. More...
Wow, this place was a mad-house for dinner on 7/3/14. Because of the rain, they had to seat outdoor reservations indoors which caused reservations to back up - we waited more than half-an-hour past our reservation time to be seated. But the staff was upfront about this so we understood. Despite the full house, food and service were pretty good. We started with a goat cheese salad, the risotto dal mare and gnocchi, all delicious. Entrees were creative specials - I had grilled miso-tuna over chai-barley. Others had the mustard-coated rack of lamb and the grilled salmon fillet. We enjoyed them all. With dessert, coffee and a bottle of Sangiovese from Banfi, cost was a very reasonable $50 per person before tax and tip. More...
Absolutely loved this place! The waitress was so kind and accommodating, gave great food recommendations, and the ambience is nice & quiet. They also have a wide selection of drinks, foods, desserts. My relatives and I stopped by here after a long day of skiing/snowboarding & celebrated my cousin's birthday here. They gave us a free chocolate lava cake which was delicious!Definitely recommend going here! More...
LOVED this place! Came here for a celebration and hope to go back!!Food and staff was flawless. I found the acoustics to be overwhelming, however, it was around the holidays and perhaps there were a few folks who had over indulged at their Christmas parties. Best Risotto EVER! Everything else was perfect. More...
Wow! Our meal at Mazzeo's was one of the best Italian we have ever had - right up there with Pacarino in Portland, ME.My husband had tagged along with me on a business trip and I decided to treat him (and myself) to a nice dinner. We shared a half bottle of a nice Malbec, reasonalble priced at $20. I had the garlic bread with cheese for an appetizer and hubby enjoyed an appetizer size of eggplant parm. For entrees we had the Fettuccini Bolognese and Chicken Angelo (very nice white butter/garlic sauce with a side at cavatelli pasta). Now, I love bolognese sauce and can be quite picky, this was outstanding. My husband's chicken was cooked perfectly and the garlic sauce - divine. Entrees come with your choice of saled or soup (we recommed the utternut squash soup)We left room for dessert and took home some leftovers of our entrees. After a pasta dinner I usually avoid a rich chocolate dessert and tonight was no exception. I had the Lemoncello Tartuft - a cold, creamy cross between mousse and gelato, with very nice plating with chocolate/caramel drizzle. My husband never passes up creme brulee and opted for the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee - it did not disappoint.Service was pleasant and attentive for such a busy Friday night. I forgot to mention we did not make a ressie and were lucky to be seated quickly by chance. I would recommend making a ressie in the future. We left very satisified with our meal - entrees range from $18-24. Out bill came to about $95 for the wine, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. More...

We had heard many good things about Mazzeo's as well as noticing their parking lot was full all the time, all year long. We decided to give it a shot this week and it was wonderful. We went as a family and everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. I like that Mazzeo's is nice enough for date night, but inviting enough for the entire family. Good food with decent portions at a decent price, a true benefit in these tough economic times. More...
Best restaurant in the berkshires. Excellent service & phenomenal food. We eat here weekly since we moved to the berkshires last year. The owners really care at Mazzeos. The seabass is the best seafood dish I ever had. So good!! Bartenders are awesome - great drinks, conversation and all around service. I have been here with my 1 year old and 4 year old and the staff is great with them. Love this place and will be here every weekend!!!!!! More...

Have eaten here many times. I've had many different items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service can some times be slow, but overall a great dining experience. Easily the best place you'll find in Pittsfield. More...
Attended a catered event here, where one of the rooms on the ground floor was reserved.Food was served family style; steak tips, eggplant parm, some chicken dish, pasta (shells), rolls, and salad. Everything was tasty and service was spot on, as servers constantly surveyed each table to refill drinks and/or food dishes.Afterwards, we headed upstairs to check out the outdoor patio. We passed through the bar which was packed and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. The outdoor patio seemed like a nice location for an after-dinner drink, as there were a couple of fire pits and numerous chairs. The bugs were terrible though, which I thought would have been put off by the smoke from the fires; given that they were gas-fed, this is probably why I went home with my legs covered in bites.I'd definitely head back to check things out again, as it looks like a fun atmosphere. Thumbs up, great food! Pricey but worth ever penny! Amazing
sat us even though it was very late, EXCELLENT waiter with prompt professional service, Excellent food. Was definitely on the higher end price wise but the food was worth it!
Loved it, but... the mosquitoes ate us alive as soon as it *started* to get dark.My friend said his steak wasn't cooked right, but chose to keep it, eat it, because it was close. My pasta fra diavlo was spectacular. The inside seating looked gloriously mission-style and inviting. I wish we'd eaten inside.Bathroom was old-fashioned, in a 30's style, and lovely.I'd definitely eat here again, but sit inside. My husband and I ordered takeout from Mazzeo's last night. Altogether it was very good. We had Scarola con Fagioli (escarole & white beans), Polenta al Forno (polenta with chicken, sausage & marinara sauce), and Pollo Angelo (chicken with artichokes). If you like garlic, you'll love these dishes. The chicken and the escarole dishes were beautifully seasoned. I give those dishes 5 stars. The polenta was decent; however I felt that the marinara sauce might not have been as homemade as they claim. My Italian mother-in-law can put that marinara sauce to shame! I cannot comment on the wait staff since we didn't eat in the restaurant; however I can say that the renovations they did in that restaurant are awesome! What a beautiful place. I'd go back again. I just might not get the polenta... More...
We went here a couple weeks ago and had the best service I've ever had when dining in Berkshire County! The food was delicious and I just cannot say enough about the incredible service.
This our ""To Go"" place for a great meal. We go there often with my wife and brother inlaw. He lives in NY city and he can't wait to come home for a meal at Mazzeo's. Everything is great from the service to the apps to the meals and with Harp and Brian at bar you can't miss. Oh yeah the new location will blow you away no more driving around in circles to get a parking spot... More...
Never Dissapointed!!! Professional wait staff! Great food and wine selection! Always a treat!
Took my Dad here for father's day this past weekend. We had a reservation and were greeted and seated right away. We had a great waiter - I think his name was Stephan. Very friendly and attentive. We started with the Motzz Fritta - exceeded my expectations. Fresh motzz balls deep fried with sauce, no frozen sticks here. Delish!! I had the classic chicken parm for dinner - great size entree and the chicken was great. Loved the red sauce, I am a harsh critic on this - they were a bit skimpy on the sauce though and had to ask for extra. The pasta was good - but a little over cooked for my taste. I really wanted to try desert but was stuffed - next time. More...
Celebrated a birthday here tonight (not mine). Reservations were made so we were seated right away. The staff was so friendly from the start of the evening.Appetizers were ordered to share amongst the table, which included fried calamari, crab cakes, and mushroom beignets. The crab cakes were so good, and how can you go wrong with fried calamari? It was suggested to me to try the mushroom beignets ... I don't do mushrooms, its a fungus, but these were in a puff pastry, covered in a hollandaise sauce, so I ended up being persuaded to give them a try. I was stunned how good these were. I ended up taking one for myself and enjoyed every bite. Does this mean I'm a mushroom fan ... i don't know about that, but small steps. For dinner I ordered the Linguine Zuppa Di Pesce, which included lobster tail, shrimp, bay scallops, clams, mussels and calamari in a fresh tomato and basil sauce. I had seen they had a hot variation on the sauce and asked for that. The waitress warned me that hot meant very spicy, which sounded great to me!Usually I'm not all the impressed when I'm told that "its really spicy" because it never meets my expectations, but when dinner came out and I took the first bite this exceed my expectations. The sauce had a great kick to it. The best part of the dish were the clams and scallops. They were cooked perfectly with so much flavor. A big thing for me at any Italian Restaurant is how the pasta is cooked, and this was done to perfection. The service was excellent all night. Very attentive to everyone's needs without feeling like they were hovering.Great night! More...
I went to Mazzeo's on the recommendation of my sister. The service was excellent, our waiter was knowledgeable and didn't rush us. Our entrees were delicious. We had an appetizer of mushrooms begniet (sp?) to die for. My only regret was that I was too full to have dessert. We look forward to going back again. More...
This is a great basic red-sauce and pasta kind of Italian restaurant. Located in the jungle of a residential neighborhood in Pittsfield, it can be located just under a huge billboard. Though kind of weird, the outside environment is no judge for the food inside. I came here the other day with a large group of people that allowed us to sample a considerable number of food items and wine. The apps were excellent with fried calamari, polenta and chicken, and the antipasto plate being especially good. For my dinner, I had the home-made pasta (cavatelli) with sun-dried tomatoes and sliced sausages. Excellent! For wine, we worked our way through several bottles of Irony Pinot Noir (at $28 each) that was just perfect with the food. Several others stuck with their drafts of Steel Rail Pale Ale, a local favorite brew. All in all, you won't find haut-cuisine here, but you will find great basic Italian food at a great price. More...
Back in the 50's and 60's, great Italian restaurants abounded in Pittsfield. Sadly, after the downsizing of GE, the local Italian restaurants went out of buisiness. Like the Phoenix from the ashes, the Mazzeo's, a well know and respected community family, grabbed the guidon and became the best Itailan restaurant in Pittsfield, bar none. Housed in an old, rectangular brick building, a former ethnic club in a dodgy part of town, Mazzeo's can cater to anything from a romantic meal for two or a large wedding. The waitstaff is very local and very good. The food is extraordinary! For lack of a better phrase, ""Old Man"" Mazzeo (and I mean that in the BEST of ways) greets you, seats you and checks on you throughout your stay. You will be remembered the next time you come. Not overly expensive for the meal, but maybe for the location. Call for availability and reservations, the place can fill up quickly! More...
Great meal and service. Owner checked on us to make sure all was good. Dinner for 3 with 2 drinks and tip less than a hundred dollars and a lot of food went home with us.
an incredible family owned italian restaurant!! wonderful food, great atmosphere, good prices, and wonderful service. a must visit if you're going to be spending any time in the berkshires. a real treat!
