My husband and I eloped on Maui on July 4th on top of Haleakala in Maui at sunrise! We had only our officiant, Chrissy Kapoor, and the wonderful Amy Jayne as our witnesses.
It was a real team effort! Amy met us around 3:30AM and we drove up to the summit at dawn. We spent about 30-45 minutes with Amy shooting images right before and then as the sun started to peak over the clouds. The sky was MAGICAL. No wind, and not even cold, it was the perfect day and perfect setting. Amy took charge and had us posing to bang out as many pics as we could considering the timeline with the sun rising. She did an amazing job capturing our emotions and raw natural photos in addition to everything we told her we wanted (ie, looking out at the sunrise, appearing on top of the clouds, with props, pulling over unexpectedly etc) - she even brought props of her own! We felt totally in sync with Amy and were SO glad we hired her.
Amy spent another hour with us, after the ceremony at Haleakala, and then also agreed to come to our hotel, the Wailea Beach Resort, right before sunset that same day so we could get beach and sunset photos as well. Which was SO nice of her to do, and atypical to shoot two locations like that. We couldn't have picked a better photographer or partner for our special day!! From the first conversation I could tell she was down to earth, flexible, friendly and very experienced. Especially considering we had an unusual location, at sunrise, and not your typical sunset beach shoot. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amy, regardless of your location. Check out our photos!

We were traveling to Maui and thought it would be a special / unique place to have engagement photos taken. I am SO glad we did it and that we found Amy to photograph us! Amy chose a beautiful beach in Maui early in the morning (for the best lighting) for our session. She made us feel really comfortable and was so down to earth and fun to work with! The photos turned out beautiful! I love her photography style of catching more natural moments. We have so many great photos from our session and will have a hard time choosing which ones to use!! Amy is simply amazing. We booked her for our engagement session on Maui, and she was up for a jungle/waterfall adventure! She led us down the path and captured a lot of different poses and also put a lot of variety into the photos, setting us up with multiple different backgrounds within our hike (waterfall, bamboo forest, rocks, etc) . What really sealed the deal for us is how easy she made it. We are both extremely awkward when posing for photos, since we are generally pretty private people and to us, showing our extreme love for each other in front of a stranger is difficult - but Amy sensed this and gave us amazing direction. She guided us with different poses, told us exactly where to stand when we had no idea, and gave us a lot of tips to make us look better in the photos (stand up straight, tilt a bit to the left, etc). We just found her really refreshing and she is worth every penny. She gave us a peek at some of the photos she took while we were out, and even without editing, her equipment and most importantly, her ability to capture natural light, are just 110% awesome. Amy did our family photos in March. When I received the online gallery I was amazed and literally speechless!
All images were absolutely stunning. The photo session was quick and relaxed and she worked so well with our two boys. We heard about Amy from a friend who had been in Maui about a month or two before us, I saw one picture and had to find out who took it. I put down our deposit by the end of that same day. Amy is super chill and friendly and we felt very comfortable with her. She worked very quickly, communication was excellent and it was just overall a very good experience. This was my husband's first time in Hawaii and we plan on making it a yearly trip, this made it all the more special for him. If you go to Maui, you MUST schedule a session with Amy. From start to finish, Amy was fun, calming, and professional - all at the same time. She made my fiancé and me feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. I really felt like I was just out on a walk with him and a friend! Plus, the areas she chooses to shoot in are breathtaking. I just got our pictures back and I haven't been able to stop looking at them since. Amy is the best! Our kids (3 and 1 y/o) were distracted by nearby dogs playing, wanting to go in the water, explore the beach, and roll around in the sand. My 3 y/o was over it about halfway through. But Amy was really great with getting their attention again, and our pictures, oh my goodness, I am so in love with our family pictures. She captured our little family so well. Amy and Sean are both great at what they do and offered a lot of ideas and collaborated with us to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. We found Amy through the power of google for our wedding in Maui. We were eloping from NC so we did not have an opportunity to meet with Amy before the ceremony.
Through our emails and the photos on her website, I just had a feeling everything would be great. Amy was very easy going. She offered to discuss/email my "must have" shots, but I never got around to it.
I can not say enough how pleased we were with our finished product. All of the different backdrops from bright sun, water, mountains, sunset and dusk photos turned out wonderfully! We received a few sneek peek photos within a day. All of our photos were available online within 10 days and our disc was sent shortly there after. The photos were beautiful and natural, not overly posed or re-touched. I would highly recommend Amy and her fabulous photography skills, she captured our special day perfectly!

She charges a *very* reasonable fee for the photography, and provides you with an image CD, so you can get prints yourself from winkflash (or whatever service you prefer).
the cost of the photos is a fraction of what you'd pay from a traditional photographer.
She also photoshops/touches up many of the photos, so the final images are truly outstanding.
we are so delighted with amy's photos of our wedding - and our friends and family are blown away. we would recommend amy in a heartbeat!
