About

Thanks for visiting! I'm Matt, I am a headshot and sports photographer.

A little about me: I've been in business for over decade, focusing primarily on sports action and team photography. About three years ago, I started getting inquiries about doing corporate headshot photography from those who had seen my team headshot work.

Q&As

Coaching and preparation- so what goes into a great headshot?
All of the headshot photographers in Fairfield County work in different ways. I have reshot countless numbers of people who have used other photographers in town, because they were disappointed with both their experience and their images. Using the information I've gathered over the past few years, I
have developed a headshot session that is collaborative, fun, ensures you look amazing, and that you're 200% satisfied!

I shoot tethered into a laptop computer so that the images pop up on the screen as we go. Here’s the big advantage: Every so often I will bring you over so that we can look at the shots together. I use this as a coaching tool to help you improve in front of the camera. I can also get your feedback on the
things you like or or would like different, so that we can keep adjusting until we get shots that you love. There will be no question as to whether you look good!
I will direct you into positions that are most flattering for your unique physical traits. Once you are in the right spot, I say a lot of crazy stuff to get you to react. Then I shoot really quickly throughout your entire reactive expression arc. I might shoot 15 shots in a matter of seconds just to get one keeper! Sounds like a lot, but that’s how we get natural expressions that actually show your personality. We will have plenty of time to shoot multiple outfits. This will give you a nice range of options, so you can choose an appropriate image depending on where it's being used. During an average hour-long session, I usually shoot around 300-500 images.

At the end of the session, I will cull your images down to 50-100 top images. Then we will sit down together, and I will have you mark your favorites, probably around 20 or so.. From there we will take a final look at those top images that you've chosen, and make a final selection as to the images you’d
like to purchase.

As soon as the images are finished being retouched (usually 3-5 business days later) I deliver the high-resolution jpg files to you. You will be able to use them wherever you need to or take the files to a printing lab.

It is as simple as that! Headshots should be a painless and incredibly fun experience that will be a pleasure to look forward to when it’s time to repeat

Getting "the shot". I am a competitive person, and since my sports days are long over, I am always competing with myself to take better images. So whether it's capturing the big moment in the big game, or the big moment where you're looking your best in the studio, getting "the shot" is what it's all about.

I was inspired by the notion that if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Whether my clients are hockey players skating around the ice, or someone in my studio looking to update their personal brand, I love being behind the camera creating lasting imagery. The corporate world never gave me that feeling, so I moved on.

I've studied with renowned headshot photographer, Peter Hurley. I know his formula for creating a fantastic headshot, and we will use that to create images you're proud to display.
