I booked a one day photography course with Matt. What a fun day! Matt is calm, cool and collected and most importantly, he adapts his courses for all skill (and patience) levels. He gave me a great grounding to enable me to use my camera to it's (and my) potential. Matt was friendly and welcoming and quickly put me at ease in my creative thoughts! Well, we've just received our wedding photos from Matt and we absolutely love them! I've photographed a handful of weddings myself over the years and so when we started to look for our wedding photographer I was after something really special. I found Matt once we’d booked our wedding at Tewkesbury Abbey, searching for photographers who had covered there and at Gloucester Cathedral. He had covered a wedding in Gloucester Cathedral in 2013 and his images were stunning – mixing visually complex with emotional and simple, all with a very artistic eye and a playful approach. His photojournalistic approach to portraying the movement of the day was extremely appealling to us – our “group shots” were over in a flash, and he focussed more on the service and our guests, which is what we really wanted. He was also the most discreet and non-intrusive photographer we have ever come across, which was extremely impressive and a unique skill. We booked Matt after seeing his gorgeous photos at my sister in laws wedding. He managed to capture some truly unscripted moments. He was friendly and tried to make us laugh for even better photos. He knew where to put us to put us in some really flattering lighting. I was so pleased as to how gorgeous the final photos were. All our communication was done by email since we live in another country, but he was professional and kept us updated every step of the way. I met Matt at a wedding fair and was immediately impressed with the quality of his photos and his chatty friendly manner. He specialises in reportage style which is just what we wanted .

During the day he got the (few) group shots done quickly so I wasn't away from my quests for too long - when I did see him he was always v friendly and efficient. However, I didn't actually see much of him during that day and was a bit concerned where he was - I shouldn't have worried - we just got the proofs back and there are dozens and dozens of pictures of our guests and me during the day - these are definitely my favourites!

We paid the extra for him to stay during the meal and for speeches and the first dance - I'm really pleased we did this as there are some fantastic photos!

We have received the draft album and despite not knowing our guests there is preety much a picture of everyone I want included, and we are able to swap pictures if we want.

Overall a fantastic professional service and greats pic – what more do you want?!

Having viewed a number of different wedding photograph albums, Matt Davies’ was the most captivating. Matt captures the standard family photos very well, but excels in capturing the intimate details of your day, and delivers exceptionally creative shots of the happy couple in outside surroundings.

I couldn't recommend Matt Davis Photography enough for brides and grooms looking for someone to photograph their wedding day. Matt was our wedding photographer in September 2013 after we had seen some of his work on the internet. It was so important to us to have creative and natural documentary style wedding photos instead of formal traditional group shots and we couldn't be happier with the results.
