TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I lectured mathematics at Reading University to undergraduates and have tutored many A-level students. I tutored both my sons for their A-level exams and managed to raise their predicted grades to A’s in all modules. I have now tutored Maths for 4 years and have had some very good results and can provide many references.

TUTORING STYLE

I like to work with the knowledge students have on a subject and then build from there. With maths it is at times necessary to re-visit the fundamentals - these can be forgotten as time passes. I have a wealth of information sheets and tips covering the various topics on the syllabus and make use of past papers to prepare students for their exams. I like to discover a students strengths and weaknesses early on and believe my experience helps me with that.
I consider myself calm, patient and supportive with students. Lessons are structured to and tailored to meet the student's needs and include a variety of hands on material and varied learning styles.
