When my water heater sprung a leak in the garage a while back, water damaged occurred. While the garage was drying out, Master Plumbing and Leak Detection came out and set-up my new water heater in the middle of the garage. We learned that we must have a water leak when I noticed that our daily water usage had gone from 283 gallons to 916 gallons (yes, that is per day! ).  We contacted our insurance company (USAA), which was the one who first introduced us to Master Plumbing, and they let us contact them to do a leak detection and ultimately the repair work.  Mark was very professional and courteous and respectful of our garden as they dug a trench for the new water pipe.  When finished, they left the area neat and clean with a confident and thankful customer.Thanks again Master Plumbing and Mark! I was worried about a slab leak and was able to get a next day appointment. Before they came to my house I got a phone call that the plumber what on his way. Tony came to my house to check things out. He was great at what he did. He used his equipment to check if there was moisture or a leak anywhere in the house. I highly recommend Master Plumbing and Leak Detection. We had an insurance issue with a leak in our house and there was the potential of it costing us upwards of ten thousand dollars. So we called Master Plumbing and Leak Detection and one of their plumbers, Cal, was out that evening and made a thorough investigation. He was able to determine that the leak was recent enough that the insurance company covered everything and we only had to pay our deductible (still not easy for us, but better than the alternative). Cal not only fixed the leak that night (so that there was no FURTHER damage), but he was knowledgable, skilled, and friendly. I was recommended to Master Plumbing by my Insurance Company. I received two other quote quote for the same Slab leak they confirmed. Although yes they provided the same two options for the repair work but they were the quickest in sending the quote and answering questions. We selected the do to the Plumber who did the job (Darian). Super knowledgeable, polity and professional. The day of the job they were a little late but the amount of time they (2) man crew, spent prepping the area to protect our furniture, rugs etc. was impressive. They quoted a full day others had quoted "about two days" and they completed the job in one day! Super work we could not have been happier. We expected the worst and it was painless. I give Master Plumbing and Leak Detection 5 plus stars.  Our hot water heater died on August 6, 2018.  Water damage to walls was discovered August 7th.  A demolition crew from another company came in on August 8th.  They left fans and heaters running until Saturday August 10th when they came to remove the hot water heater.  They cut a line and couldn't cap it.  They told me to call a plumber. The Insurance company called Master Plumbers and they capped the line immediately.  The previous company said we would have hot water by August 14th or 15th after repair on walls.  That would make it 8 or 9 days with no hot water.  Reed our Masters Plumber said if we bought a new hot water heater, he would pick it up the next day and install in a temporary spot while the repair work was done.  The Insurance Company approved and today we have hot water.  We thank Reed for working on a hot Sunday, and Master Plumbing for fast processing to get the job done. Our hot water line started leaking under the cement slab, which required re-routing of the pipe through the ceiling to the kitchen.  I obtained three quotes, and Master Plumbing came in $300 to $1100 lower than the other bids for PEX pipe. Tony Perez advised us to use Type L copper pipe rather than PEX and we took his advice for a nominal additional cost. We felt so confident with Master Plumbing that we opted to have additional work done at the same time. Tony is clearly very knowledgeable and he completed our job in only 2 1/2 days. He worked hard, fast, and left the work area broom clean when finished for the day. He made very neat cuts in our walls and ceiling so our drywall contractor was easily able to repair them. Great experience with Master plumbing! They were very affordable. I had a leak detection test done and the inspector could have easily simply done that one test and left.  He explained everything to me thoroughly, and continued to do more testing going above and beyond my expectations. I am new to the north San Diego area and know nothing about houses built on concrete slabs. We developed a hot water leak under the slab in our house. I cannot say enough good things about Master Plumbing and Leak Detection and their service supervisor Tom. I had a slab leak  which required significant effort and research to identify its exact location. Tom worked extremely hard to figure out the problem and came back and corrected it with a pipe rerouting. He was professional, efficient and friendly. Explained everything to me in detail. We were referred to Master Plumbing after getting an extremely high bid from another company for a re-pipe due to a slab leak. Cal was the plumber who came out to do the free estimate. He was very thorough in explaining all that was going out and what the repair would entail. Master Plumbing was sent to do a leak detection by my insurance company. Our plumber was Mario and his assistant was Eric. Mario was honest and efficient. He found the leak right away. It was a wax ring on an upstairs toilet. He also told me that my pressure regulator was going and that I could hire them or I could hire another plumber who would likely cost less. (After doing some research, we chose a less expensive plumber for the regulator replacement.) Mario was going to replace the wax ring at no charge but once they removed the toilet, they discovered that the flange was also deteriorating. He told me that if he had the flange on his truck, he could do the repair right away. He did not have the part but I had him come the following day to do the repair. The repair cost us $275. It all started out with us calling another plumber, Mr. Rooter, scoping our pipes and telling us that we our cast iron pipes were cracked and roots were entering them. Unfortunately it was our only bathroom for my disabled mother. We were going to be charged to dig into the concrete slab of our house and replace that pipe. That was going to be nearly $5000.00. Then this company found another crack and the price went up to $9000.00 with both bathrooms being totally destroyed. I called the insurance and they suggested I stop with this company and use Master Plumbing because of certain things that happened. I can say that Mr. Rooter was really good about the transition as I had decided to go with Master Plumber. I cannot say that I have been unhappy at all. They came in gave me a quote of the part I had to pay for and then they did the repairs. They are still in the process. They replaced all the cast iron pipe for the two bathrooms under the slap. They had to dig a bit further under so that they would not have to ruin the other bathroom. Except for two days, (we had to go to a hotel) they made sure we could use the other bathroom. They have now replaced the pipe and have packed in the dirt so it won't shift. We are now waiting for it to dry before they put in rebar replacement and concrete. Drying will keep the dirt from shifting and will allow the cement to set better. We have been told what needs to happen and why they are doing things in a certain manner. Cal from Master plumbing did great work at our house! He was here for a multiple-day job, worked very hard, and was very courteous and professional. We had an old cast iron drain backed up, cracked and leaking that needed to be replaced. All of the old plumbing was removed along with much jackhammering and digging to remove the old drain pipe. A new drain was installed quickly, which was a relief, as it allowed us to use our kitchen sink and dishwasher again! New rebar was installed and new cement was poured. The work is high quality and should function for many years to come. Master plumbing worked efficiently with our insurance company and was pretty good about staying in communication with us. Cal is a very skilled and experienced  plumber, and was great at answering our questions. We had a quote from Anderson's Plumbing to try to find and stop an intermittent leak. They wanted to cut open the walls and a huge hole the unit below's ceiling to figure out what was going on.  Our insurance recommended Master Plumbing before letting them cut the place open. Luis came out and figured everything out with his cameras and even a small mirror and a tiny hole. This company replumbed our 60 year old house after is was discovered we had a leak in the slab. The plumber found the least invasive way to reroute our pipes. He was on time every day of the job and did the work with minimal disruption to our water service. He cleaned up after each day's work and was finished on time. My water heater broke/leaked on a Friday night (go figure) and needed immediate replacement. I spent the weekend contacting several plumbers to find the best deal. I discovered Master Plumbing & Leak Detection on Sunday because they are a USAA Preferred Company. They are open 24/7, so I called them at 6:00 am and spoke to their supervisor, Mike. Since I had the model # and pictures of my current water heater, Mike was able to provide an estimate over the phone, but he had to confirm the availability of the replacement water heater with his suppliers when they opened on Monday morning. Master Plumbing & Leak Detection contacted me first thing on Monday morning and were able to acquire an Ultra-Low NOx Power Vent 50 Gal Water Heater (a unique and hard-to-find water heater) and install same day. The installation technicians were very professional and worked quickly. They even used a state-of-the-art lift to position my water heater on a platform in my garage. The job was completed in ~1.5 hours and the final price (several hundred dollars lower than any other plumber I contacted) was exactly what I was quoted. Recently we had a leak @ the water heater in our home.  I knew it was going to be an insurance claim so I called Master Plumbing knowing that Travelers Insurance would appreciate me calling a reputable plumbing company. Everyone we dealt with at Master Plumbing was professional and courteous. They quickly came up with a game plan to detach our water heater and set it up temporary until we could have a contractor make the necessary repairs to the drywall.  This allowed us to stay in our home which was greatly appreciated.  When the construction repairs were done they came back and re set the water heater.  Beautiful job.  No hassles.  They even brought it up to code!!!!!! Had a leak in our master bedroom standing shower enclosure that was masked by the previous owner of our home. Wawanesa had suggested we have Master Plumbing come out to conduct a leak detection. Mike Logsdon came out almost immediately, and brought some pretty neat tools to detect the cause of the leak and the extent of the damages. If I could give them ten stars I would! I phoned Master Plumbing for an appointment, they followed up the morning of the appointment to confirm their visit (a rare thing these days), and then phoned to see if they could come earlier which was great. Mario, the technician, spent almost 2.5 hours or more at my home tracking down the source of my water issue.  He went above and beyond eliminating the possible causes being very thorough in his search. He finally determined the where, what and why of the cause (an abandoned drainage pipe, sealed incorrectly, blocked and broken and allowing rain water to collect under the foundation). We used them to rebuild a crazy complex, new master bathroom shower suite, steam shower, soaking bathtub and all of the new water lines required to plumb our new master bath suite. I am in the water mitigation business and this is the company I call when I show up at someone's home and they have a leak. They are sometimes pretty busy on Monday's and Friday's, like most plumbers, but they are very professional and very competitive on pricing. I've called them out to various homes at least 250 times and I have yet to have any problems with them. I've used them for my own home as well. We had a cement slab replaced in the backyard of a rental unit.  After the patio was poured a leak developed that ended up flooding the backyard.  The cement contractor said it wasn't anything he did that caused the leak so I knew I would get not help there.I called out Master Plumbing & Leak Detection and they were able to determine that the drain line that is in all the backyards had a hole in it and was clogged so when the sprinklers came on it flooded our yard.  They guy showed up on time, was friendly and helpful and was able to explain to the landscape supervisor exactly what the problem was.We are now in the process of working with the landscape company to get the pipes replaced so we can finish the backyard.
