The aesthetics of the design is good, but the navigational links should all be on a line, that is why I am not scoring the site more. But I know Master Pus as a thorough person in life generally, which is reflective in him as a martial artist as well as an instructor; plans, programs, students. I am one of his students in Nigeria, who has benefited from his training and still mentors. Master Pius, I am proud of you. More...

THIS IS NOT A MCDOJO. If you are in sandy springs, roswell, milton Dunwoody or east cobb, check this place out. I am a parent who may be moving soon and I wanted to take a minute to let everyone know about my wonderful experience. I am currently driving an hour three times a week to get to MPMA. I pass who knows how many schools to get to MPMA Why? Quality. I am sad that I may be moving even further away to where I couldnt get my son to classes, but I want to make sure other kids have an opportunity to experience this level of quality martial arts education..Master Pius is an amazing instructor as is his assistant Izel and the many adult black belts who volunteer to teach classes at the school. His prices are incredibly fair, 120/month for Taekwondo instructions which is the least expensive of all the martial arts programs in the sandy springs/dunwoody area and he's got the cheapest after school program in the area ($70 a month). I know this because i did substantial research before enrolling my son in his program about 2 years ago and again last year when we returned after a hiatus due to financial issues and moving out of the area. MPMA also offers summer camps and bridge programs for fall and winter break for 80-120 a week depending on the program. He also offers a competition team and a black belt club which meet on fridays. The competition team kids are georgia champions and people come from all around the south east to attend. Above and beyond that, MPMA offers good high quality Taekwondo. The school is the home of several Georgia Games State Champions. Our kids routinely bring home trophies. Master Pius emphasizes traditional taekwondo. Kids are challenged with forms, sparring, technique drills and breaking even at 5 and 6 years old. Our 9 year old red/black belts who began the program at 5 and 6 are amazing. This is not a school full of kids with black belts that they received after 2 years of training like some in our area. Traditional belt testing is done every 3-4 months with many parents opting not to test kids until they are "ready" to move on to the next level, the last thing any parent wants is a black belt who cant do a proper side kick. Trust me, i've seen this in some of the ATA schools in our area. Master Pius also makes a point to teach kids to differentiate techniques when it comes to forms, sparring/competition/ and self defense and he makes sure kids know how to utilize them. Not every pretty kick is an effective kick when defending ones self, and if a child gets in a situation where they have to fight to defend themself they would not use the same skills they would in competition. As for the other post about being charged 1000 when leaving the after school program, i do not believe that. The after school program is on a month to month basis. I know because that is how my son entered the school. after a few months he switched to the regular program with a 6 month contract. When I lost my job and could not fulfill my contract, i talked to master pius and let him know what happened and I wasn't charged another dime to my credit card. To parents looking into martial arts, be careful about chain stores that make their money off of charging you every 2 months for belt tests and where you spend months at a time just doing round house kicks with no clear cirriculum. Both MPMA locations are in small shopping centers and some would consider it a "dive", but whether you are looking for Karate, Taekwondo, Jiujitsu (i looked into them all) it's the "dives' you want. The large super chain locations with more than 3 schools to their names are making their money by living up to the phrase "take yo do" and McDojo which is what most people think about when they think of american martial artists: overweight amateurs who got their black belt in side kick. I could tell you some stories of some schools my son experienced in our journey back to MPMA...but i wont. MPMA is an awesome place. Please check it out if your child is interested in training. You won't be disappointed More...
